  1. You need to enable web history in chrome for it to learn about you from the searches you do anarl.
  2. Aye 60 minutes of your life isn't really enough for it to learn owt about you The alternative is it hammers new users with a load of unrelated, unwanted cards.

  4. Not really. It's largely timed based on your movements. So it learns what time you get up and what time you head home from work and it generally gives you a traffic report at that time. Or if you have an appointment through the day, it checks your route to that and reports back based on journey length/time rather than constantly trawling for the traffic at this moment. Tells you stock prices you have an interest in at open anc close of the market, rather than monitoring it all day long. Tells you the days weather in the morning....or at your destination ahead of a holiday. To get the best out of it you need to have your GPS on all the time though, so that it can learn and automatically check into regular haunts, restaurants, cinemas and that. Think that drains more battery than the app itself using the data provided by GPS.
  5. Don't think the editor is complaining about it either tbh. Just telling people the facts of what has happened. Ashley is a mong, he's threatened legal action against other papers for what he has claimed are lies and then he's not taken any action whatsoever that would expose any truth. He's just banned journalist after jouirnalist for writing truthful reports. It's pathetic. As pathetic as Fergies "ban" on the BBC.
  6. ...it was widely said that Cabaye had fallen out with Pardew weeks before this article anyway.
  7. I hadn't read the article in question, so here it is.... http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/teams/newcastle-united/10026476/Newcastle-United-manager-Alan-Pardew-sees-position-at-St-James-Park-put-in-peril-by-dressing-room-split.html
  8. http://www.gizmodo.c...-should-get-it/ Any iPhone users been giving it a whirl yet? I think the android version in the UK is deficient compared to the US. Only a limited number of cards seem to ever pop up, but those that do are handy. Looking forward to the day they sort it out though.
  9. https://history.google.com/history/ Read it and weep......or enable web search history then come back next month and weep. In the 70 days I've had it enabled I've done almost 1600 Google searches, more than 20 a day on average. But days aren't average. About twice as many searches on a Monday as any other day.
  10. Widely reported... http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2255028/Demba-Ba-receive-2m-bonus-joining-Chelsea.html http://www.independent.co.uk/sport/football/transfers/demba-ba-could-be-followed-to-chelsea-by-taison-micah-richards-and-radamel-falcao-8436202.html http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/teams/chelsea/9772105/Chelseas-move-for-Demba-Ba-stalls-over-Newcastle-players-wage-demands.html
  11. ....and we could still have sold him a year later for a higher fee than we actually got in January, because he wouldn't have the release clause.
  12. Apparently he was "only" on £20k a week basic here. Chelsea doubled that. We could afford that. He was also on £20k for appearances, again Chelsea doubled it, which we could have done too. Then he got a £2m loyalty bonus FROM US when the departure clause was triggered. We could have paid him that bonus to stay. In total, if he played every game...for (say) 5 years under the new contract, the total cost would have been £22m. To get a striker guaranteed to score as much as him you'd have to pay that before wages tbh.
  13. Did that last time I hired an automatic without even realising it was what I was doing.....just makes sense...2 pedals and 2 feet....took me 15 minutes of neck breaking juddering stops to get out of the carpark before I realised my error.
  14. Pardew has always been happy to take criticism on the chin. In addition to doing it this week he's pointed the blame at himselflot's of other times too... After the Spurs 5 nowt last season... "But a lot of the blame lays with me, we probably had too many offensive players on the pitch. "The mood Tottenham came out in, we just got exposed time and again. I blame myself for that defeat. and after the Wigan 4 nowt last year... “The psychology and the tactical side of things is my responsibility. I let the club down a bit. For Wednesday I have to make sure my team is motivated at the right level.” After the Reading game in January.... “I have to accept (the crowd’s reaction). Taking Marveaux off was probably a mistake because I did not think we would lose Cabaye, but when he said he was struggling with his groin I had to take him off." The buck always stops with him, but if he's never allowed to discuss the other factors that might have contributed to a loss then we're doomed to repeat them. If he never said a word about the lack of squad depth or the impact of europe on having to play our championship quality back ups then people would accuse him of being an Ashley puppet, not willing to voice the problems that are blatantly clear to everyone, for fear of angering his paymaster.
  15. Dreamed I was in a van with a group of lads going to do over another lad I used to go to games with who started seeing a lass after we had finished with each other. When we found him everyone got out of the van to get him, but I wasn't sure we should and hid, back in the van. He got away though so I jumped in the driver seat and chased him down, Grand Theft Auto Style. I mounted the path where he was running and a toddler came running out of her path and I drove into her.....then I woke up absolutely distraught. :o :o :o :o :( :( :( :(
  16. Delighted. Just discovered the BBC iPlayer radio app and its a gorgeously designed bit of highly functional and well stocked futuristic style genius.
  17. Half the people on Facebook don't use twitter and vice versa. You wouldn't want any of them to not know when you've scratched your arse.
  18. There's not really any point in posting to any when you boil it down like that.
  19. You have to add others as apps There are premium apps which you have to pay for but also free versions of youtube, Instagram, tumblr, stumbleupon etc. Slightly annoyed that the Google+ stream is only available if you're an organisation with a product page, not to integrate an existing personal account
  20. Helpful hint if you do use it. I spent an hour adding all my old Google Reader feeds to it. Turns out you can export them from google reader... >Settings >Import/export >"Download your data through Takeout" >Create Archive Then import it to Hootsuite >Add Stream >Apps >Get more apps >Search on "RSS" >Add RSS Reader >Click the settings cog >OPML import tab >select the xml file created by the export from google and import. Unfortunately that just creates one long stream of all your subscriptions. I like to have a stream for news, one for comment, one for football, comics etc so if you want structure like that it's best just to subscribe to sites within each stream. But as a way to get all your feeds out of Google reader and stored somewhere else before it closes down, it's a good quick fix.
  21. Not sure end of season drop off is anything to get worked up about. Seems assumed it will happen to Swansea and West Brom when they play Wigan. Don't think the results against the Mackems or Liverpool were that though.
  22. Just been adding my social Networks to Hootsuite. Used Tweetdeck previously, but tended to be limited in how many sites it will integrate. Early impressions are Hootsuite is class...and not been mentioned on here. You can add Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Youtube, Google+ Wordpress, Blogger, Tumblr, Flickr, StumbleUpon and there's dozens more I've not looked through properly yet. You can post to multiple social networks at once too. http://hootsuite.com Tooj, it also has an RSS reder app, which I hope will still work once Google Reader goes tits up.
