Newcastle v Norwich City: 22nd or 23rd Sept
Monroe Transfer replied to Gene_Clark's topic in Newcastle Forum
And as for the score... well of course I agree, I'd like a big win. But on the other hand... a scrappy 1-0 win wouldn't be the end of the world. They're not a bad side are Norwich. Obviously I also have a lot of time for Hughton but he's doing his own thing now and my support for NUFC overrides any sentiment I have for the man today. Want Norwich and him to do well over the course of the season and I'm sure he'll get a superb reception from our lot today. -

Why would Elliot get in ahead of Harper? It's not like Harper had a disastrous performance against Everton. -
Reading Away Pre/Post-Match Pub Gathering
Monroe Transfer replied to Peter_Reid_Monkeys_Heed's topic in Newcastle Forum
I was going to go to this till I found out on the day tickets went on sale to members that my mate isn't actually a member. Since for some stupid reason you can't buy even just 2 tickets if you're a member (only allowed one) I never ended up getting myself a ticket either as the remaining tickets weren't on sale for very long and I was at work trying to sort him one out. Don't know why I didn't just get myself one. Oh well. Going to attend a couple of London away fixtures with him instead. Still annoyed tbh, went there in the Championship season and had a good time. I might be very wrong as we weren't there for long at all but I remember having a quick drink with a few of our lot in a pub up the road from the station. Reading is a pretty big town though so there's probably somewhere a lot better for away fans. -
Any of you lot see the Chelsea-Stoke highlights on MOTD? It's as if Chelsea want the rest of the country to despise them. They really exemplify everything there is to hate about the modern game. They've got it all: notorious for simulation, twats off the pitch, racists, bought success, dirty tacklers. European glory won by being jammy and parking the bus, Hazard plays for them, Cole plays for them, Terry plays for them etc. I know Liverpool gave them a good run for their money last seaosn but surely Chelsea are the #1 most disliked club in the league now?

I love how anyone who disagrees with the majority and is critical of Sunderland is instantly called a "fucking mag" and the like.

Southampton 4-1 up!

So if something is popular it's something for women?
-
I can see them finishing above most clubs on early form, to be fair to us. At the very least they're the best club in Liverpool now, at a fraction of the cost of their neighbours.

This. Instead of causing 'controversy' with certain thread topics, it'd make a lot more sense in my eyes to be posting with like-minded people in a dedicated forum, as opposed to a Newcastle United board where most of the members don't agree with what you have to say. I appreciate that it's a bit of hassle, a bit of a risk, and you'd have to integrate yourself into a new community, but still. I feel the same about people on forums who seem to stick to mostly one thread - a golf thread for example - instead of posting on a dedicated golf forum with 1000s of members instead of the same 4-5 people talking about golf in this one thread. I'm not suggesting you leave here, because the odd topic is worthy of dsicussion and you (Wolfy) also contribute towards football threads too.

Don't rate his signature much tbh.

You're right, we should play the weaker squad against the better sides (Norwich > Maritomo) in the league. We were good enough to beat Maritomo on Thursday and with a bit more luck we would have. -

Who are you to say they're not taking it seriously? Do you seriously expect the club to play our best 11 in every match no matter how congested the fixtures are in any given period? Never mind the fact that so many of our best players are/were injured/suspended. If the fans who paid £xx to travel abroad feel aggrieved then fair enough, but it's not like Pardew didn't make it clear that in the earlier rounds (against mostly poorer clubs don't forget, with a bit more luck we'd have won the game yesterday) we're going to field a lot of the younger lads. Spurs and Liverpool will/have too, it's the same for most clubs of our stature against sides like Maritomo. I expect a better 11 against Bordeaux. -
You need instructions to tell you not to put mayo into the burger mix? I hate cooking and I'm clearly 10 times better at it than you. My toast stays on my plate too.

I'll get it if you buy me a PS3 to play it on.

I know he wasn't tested too much but I thought Elliot had a very good game. That clean sheet will do wonders for his confidence. -

Can you ever post without exaggerating/making the absolute worst of any given situation? You're just a little predictable is all. -

Type 'football streaming' into Google. Click the first link. Get your streams from there (it'll tell you what language each is in). Bookmark/favourite the site for future use. Improve match threads significantly in the process. -
Pardew himself was the one who came out and said that clause expired by the end of July, wasn't he? I'm sure that was more than just paper speculation, and it actually expiring made the BBC news etc.
-
I thought that clause had expired!? As did pretty much the rest of the football world.... thanks for letting other clubs know, Alan. What a joke.
