Haha, I meant Sheffield Wednesday, he had a short loan spell there and I recall them deciding he was better on the wing.

You lot heard about this? -
Colo's idea to have a message for Taylor on our tops before the match today. The man is pure class.
-
Yup, spot on.
-
Tavernier got played on the wing at Wednesday iirc
-
Yup, but thankfully Pardew has picked up on this and was very critical about it in his post-match interview.

We're five games into the season. If something doesn't work it'll get changed soon enough but in the short term and this early on in the season certain things are going to be persevered with.- 10610 replies

I think people, with all due respect, are forgetting that Bigirimana has 26 games worth of experience of English football. I don't think Anita has been that bad, but on the other hand I can't say that he's taken to the PL straight away and he's clearly got a lot to work on. Looks a decent enough player at times but he'll take a while to settle. As do a lot of foreign players. Giroud at Arsenal for example hasn't got going at all for them yet. I think "very, very poor" is a bit over the top iyam. "Absolute gash" I found laughably over the top and a little immature as football fans often are (myself included). Just my opinion.

I think Obertan is a confidence player more than anything. That's not say he's suddenly Messi when he's got a bit of self-belief. But he did alright against Atromitos on Thursday, clearly gained in confidence as that match went on and brought that into his cameo appearance this afternoon.

Again I thought their keeper was very commanding, so it was a mix of that and poor deliveries. Which begs the question of why we played so many crosses/set-pieces into the box. Am disappointed not to get the 3 points but a draw, a loss, and a win from our first three league games is hardly the end of the world. No need for the hysteria although I should expect it by now.

Or we just played in Europe 3 days ago, had 2 new players playing for most of the match (the above poster's comment about Anita being "absolute gash" is laughable, by the way, and sums up some of our fans and perhaps football fans in general), are still trying to find a way of playing Ba and Cisse together effectively, played against a decent enough defensive outfit with a keeper on top form, are missing our midfield general in Tiote, are 3 league games into the season... Why assume/predict/imagine the worst?

Man Utd score an equaliser in the 87th and then a winner in the 92nd to come from behind to beat Southampton. Just typical. By all accounts they (Man Utd) were woeful today. Southampton fans must feel sick.

Yeah, I was begging them to get on with it. That 30 seconds or so that they wasted could have been valuable on another day.

Shocking refereering performance

I run to the toilet and miss our goal

Their keeper is in total control of anything aerial in their box. Need to vary it up a bit.
-
Come on boys. This lot aren't great, we can beat them. Need an early goal though, Villa will gain in confidence over time.
-
Ah well.
