  1. Agent Bruce, return to base. Mission has been compromised.
  2. Robbie Savage sounds absolutely devastated on the 606 phone-in.
  3. Agreed that the timing of such comments is poor.
  4. Thought Fabio was awful. Young very ineffective, and Rooney petulant and not overly impressive.
  5. Once again, there's a difference between calling the man selfish and calling the act selfish. And again, he's just being ignorant like so many others when it comes to suicide. People always judge suicides when they shouldn't without knowing all the facts. Either way he said a bunch of nice things and it's sad that you're ignoring and disrespecting them. I edited out "grow up" because it would be crass of me to have a go at someone else on a day like this. Although that's exactly what you're doing towards Barton. Any excuse to have a go.
  6. You always get plenty of people being ignorant (not malicious) about suicide, to be fair. Some people just look at it at face value and don't initially consider the reasons behind it. Again, it's just ignorance. Poor form to criticise Barton for that when he's - as said above - said a number of good and respectful things about Speed on his Twitter.
  7. Liverpool with a jammy goal? Well I never...
  8. Spurs are closing in on them too and are comfortably the better team at the moment.
  9. No need for your second sentence, was just going with what a commentator said, wasn't really paying attention to the screen.
  10. They might have called it off had it not been announced so close to kick-off. I'm sure Speed would have wanted the match to go ahead. Both sets of players are professional and have gone about the first half in the right way (Hutton's tackling aside). There isn't much of a precedent to calling off matches is there? Apart from Diana, I can't think of any (might have been one or two following the death of a player or staff member of a club due to play).
  11. Who said that? The "slaughter" occured when we were down to 10 men. Yup, completely agree with that. I felt pretty comfortable for the majority of that match to be honest, at least in comparison to the Man City game. I never thought we'd get anything out of the Man City game. Even when we went behind yesterday I could still see us getting an equaliser. A lot of people associated with Man Utd are blinkered and expect things to go their way. When they don't, they come across as biased and bitter and rather petty.
  12. Rooney typically does the exact same thing several times in each game and never gets penalised. In fact, their whole team does it now I think about it Didn't Van der Sar run from his goal to do it once last season too?
  13. Speechless. Really gutted but I can't imagine how his family are feeling right now. I don't think Given was crying though, Sky said something about it being a misplaced contact lens.
  14. Indeed. Shows he cares. Can understand why he got booked though. Not sure how Rooney got away with it.
  15. You do realise how interviews work, right? Can almost guarantee that Douglas asked him "Is it possible that one of our top players could be sold in the January window?". I'd rather Pardew was honest as opposed to making assurances that no-one will leave, like he did with Carroll. That backfired on him and now he's learned from his mistake:
  16. Interesting... http://www.sundaysun.co.uk/sport/newcastle-united/nufc-news/2011/11/27/french-ace-olivier-giroud-offered-to-magpies-79310-29847678/
  17. Not heard Man Utd fans say much about this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=et8ZNP2Pp1U&feature=player_embedded
