  1. £35m will buy us a lot of Championship-level talent when we're back in that league next season, this is true.
  2. Less than an hour to go. I'd eat my proverbial hat if someone came in.
  3. Remind me why he come to us when Allardyce left?
  4. We done this? http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/news/...ndo-Torres.html
  5. Who wouldn't want to play for a club with fans like this?
  6. No, but relying on Shola, Lovenkrands, Ranger and "Besty" is.
  7. Elmander is almost 30 and has had a few decent games after disappointing for so long. Better than nothing especially for £2m, if true, I suppose.
  8. 11. Elmander is almost 30 and has had a few decent games after disappointing for so long. Better than nothing especially for £2m, if true, I suppose.
  9. It's worse than that in reality. You couldn't make this up if you tried.
  10. Great. I look forward to Ranger missing one on ones and Shola scoring one goal for every eight chances.
  11. I'd say I want Chelsea to destroy them but if they hadn't been in for Torres then Liverpool probably wouldn't have been in for Carroll.
  12. Even if there was, I wouldn't read it. I never do. Very rarely will I venture on to .co.uk and if I do it's just to look at photos and for ticket information.
  13. He's officially joined, apparently. Shame we're now lacking quality up front for him to help create goals for. It's all well and good having quality midfielders like Barton, Ireland and Ben Arfa but not so much when you've got Shola and Lovenkrands up front.
  14. Would have happily taken Oba back on loan.
  15. West Ham were abysmal that night, Crawley Town could have beaten them 5-0.
  16. Totally agree. Impossible to knock back £37m for him. It's 2/5ths of our turnover. We won't go down. You're deluded if you think we're safe. £35m+ is all well and good but ultimately worthless if we lose that sort of money by dropping down a league again.
  17. Something about this guy just irritates me. http://twitter.com/jack_wilshere Reminds me how long it took us to get an England international playing for us (even longer if you forget Owen). I can't be the only one who feels a sense of pride in seeing our players get international call-ups.
  18. Fair post, I don't think "forced into it" was fundamentally what I meant. Influenced by the club? Yes, I could see that. Not for a minute do I honestly think he desperately wants to stay and is only going because he was somehow made to hand in a request.
  19. David Craig has bought it big time - "you had to see the reaction of board members here when that request came in was accepted with VERY HEAVY HEARTS". Right, because he of course would have been in the board room the moment it came in.
  20. Do you honestly believe he wasn't forced into it by the regime? Believe me if this is his doing and his alone then I wish him nothing but the absolute worst and that goes for his club who I have despised since the 4-3.
  21. How many times have we had to say that? Exactly. Every positive period is a false dawn.
  22. I really don't want to direct my displeasure at Carroll as I simply don't fully believe that there were no outside influences on him handing in a transfer request. Either way it makes to me feel utterly sick to recall how Hughton handed him the no.9 responsibility at the start of the season. Half a season later he supposedly wants out. Of course they're a bigger and better club but in your first full Premier League season you'd have thought he'd have stuck around till at least the Summer once we'd guaranteed safety. He's 22 and would have had plenty more opportunities to move on. He's an NUFC fan, he's from the area, we're not doing badly and we didn't have to sell.
