  1. You're going to give me grief for this but it's a fucking 3 line People article with no quotes.
  2. Im not blind Fish, but league position and performances dont back up the nay-sayers position. Relegation is extremely, extremely unlikey. This is the same view the bookies take. While we are playing well AND maintaining our league position I will remain positive. I don't want to portray myself as a "nay-sayer" or a pessimist. On the contrary, I reckon we'll stay up, in a comfortable mid-table position. I'm just very aware of how fine the margins can be in this league and I don't want to take anything for granted until it's confirmed. Please tell me what's wrong with the following statement: There are 8 points separating us from the bottom 3. The clubs in the bottom 3 have shown that they are able to pick up points and are certainly not doomed to any particular outcome. If we were to embark on a bad run, the gap would likely be closed. 8 becomes 5, 5 becomes 2. Of course it could go the other way and we end up qualifying for Europe. It's still January, who knows what will happen.
  3. Bit of an extreme example in retrospect.
  4. As NUFC fans we shouldn't take anything for granted, including safety this season 95-96 and all that...
  5. Vast majority of Spurs fans are against it as well it seems. Purely a decision based around the fact that's it cheaper from a Spurs point of view, that and they don't have to bother with the apparently troublesome local council. Like the president of the IAAF said, removing the track would represent a lie. Also don't forget that there's a third club involved in this bid now - Crystal Palace themselves, who want to take over the National Sports Centre for themselves.
  6. No-one is saying it will, but it's still 2 points dropped is all. I only mention this as much as I do myself because I remember how a couple of points would have kept us up when we got relegated. We look comfortable at the moment but there's still only 8 points in it.
  7. I originally thought that West Ham planned to use retractable seating that could be brought out during the football season.
  8. The main problem I have with Spurs getting it is that it's quite simply not in Tottenham. I just don't like the idea of moving a club out of the area they take their name from. When a football club is such a big part of a local community it doesn't seem right to remove it from said community. They literally would no longer be Tottenham Hotspur in anything other than name and history.
  9. Tecato, shut the fuck up, and i mean that in the nicest way possible Regale us with some more riveting tales of sordid escapades in that fine Dutch city, good sir. I've never been, nor do i intend to go either. Afraid you'll make the same mistake your friend did?

  11. Ranger had a split second to make a decision when he had that chance and he probably spotted a little opening to the right of Cudicini so went for it. He did extremely well to get into such a position. I'm trying to forget this game ended the way it did. I'd have been happy with a point before the match so I'll just think of that.
  12. What's the story behind the original image?
  13. Close, like Larsson close I imagine. One new player isn't enough anyway. Wasn't before we got rid of Routledge either.
  14. Aye takes an awful lot of fitness to shield the ball in the corner of the pitch in injury time Exactly. Play it from side to side, go nowhere, short passes. Just don't give the ball away.
  15. Agreed that we might regret these lost points come the end of the season. That's my worry - will this come back to haunt us or not? Right now it's not really a problem as such but remember how a couple of points would have kept us up when we got relegated. I personally believe that we won't regret the dropped points, for the record. As for Pardew... if the last 2 matches had ended on 90 minutes he'd actually have an extremely impressive 5 wins out of 7. As a side note, the one thing I've liked most about our league season so far is that in all honesty there's only been about 4-5 matches in which we've been comprehensively outplayed. We've drawn games we should have won ad lost games we should have drawn. There's a good spirit out there and we've rarely looked out of place in the PL.
  16. To be fair a similar thing happened when Milner left. Just saying Ashley has history when it comes to such situations.
  17. I'd like him to instill a bit more willingness to play it safe when in front with the game almost up. I'd like him to make sure our lot run down the clock and don't give possession away in injury time. Simple stuff realy.
  18. Why are we so incapable of simply running down the clock? It's not like we needed to push for a goal. Sunderland equalising last weekend I put down to just being one of those days, a lapse in concentration. It happens. But to do it again in the next match is just unforgivable. I still can't fathom why we weren't doing the usual running to the corner flag and simply holding on to it. It doesn't make sense.
  19. Good point. Routledge would put a bit more pressure on their defence and would have probably kept the ball away from our goal better too. Perch was pretty much an extra defender when he came on. It was losing possession higher up the pitch which cost us.
  20. Bent has only gone and scored on his debut.
  21. Even more so if Carroll was playing. Like I said a second goal was desperately needed in both matches and twice now it's come back to haunt us. I was worried the moment I heard there would be 4 added minutes. 4 points is massive and could be the difference between us staying up and getting relegated. You still think we're in danger of going down? regardless of points, I think the performances show we're good enough to stay up. 8 points between us and 18th. 9 between us and the bottom. A dodgy run on our part and that gap will get closed. Which makes dropping points like this when we're playing well even harder to comprehend. This should have been a fourth win in a row. On 34 points I'd feel comfortable. This is a good run of form - it won't last. We're wasting opportunities. Either way I've always said that I'll take survival any way we can get it. If it's a case of hoping for the best on the last day then I'd take that. Disappointments like this will soon be forgotten on my part the moment our survival is confirmed. 7 points from 6th with a game in hand and key players coming back very soon. Carroll, Barfa and Tiote. Get a grip! I hate pessimistic fucks like you. I'm not being pessimistic. I'm being realistic - you can never be sure with this club. There's still a long way to go. If things are like this in March or April then I'd probably be as sure as you that we'll be alright. For the record I personally believe we'll stay up and finish mid-table. I'm just not going to be totally comfortable till survival is mathematically confirmed. 8 points isn't a huge amount.

  23. Exactly. I can't believe we were giving the ball away so cheaply in injury time.
