Newcastle United: Club Sold To PCP - Official
Rayvin replied to The Mighty Hog's topic in Newcastle Forum
Maybe it's sentimental of me but I really hope they don't take us away from SJP and that they find a way to expand around it. You can see the stadium for miles around in the city and I always loved the central nature of it. Its home, we shouldn't leave and go elsewhere. -
For what it's worth, I actually think we'll end up midtable too - it's like the difference between gut and brain for me, this. I feel like we're basically home dry, and yet when I sit down and look at the games, my optimism isn't reflected in the match outcomes. I'm actually kinda looking forward to seeing how wrong that post with results is.

So much so, it's what all the right wing voters appear to have convinced themselves of every time you get into an argument with them. I never met her myself but a friend of mine worked in the office for Yvette Cooper once. This friend is staunchly left wing, works in the charity sector etc and couldn't speak highly enough of how dedicated and competent Cooper was. She (my friend) didn't agree with every policy but she knew Cooper genuinely wanted to help people. I trust first hand statements like that tbh.

Obviously I hope we do, but I don't think we know enough yet to be certain. Our home crowd has been superb recently and has definitely helped get us over the line in a couple of those games, Everton in particular. How will we do away from home? Maybe we'll do great, but I think it's still too early to tell. If you're right then of course we're going to cruise through to safety though, so I very much hope you are.

It was to frame the fact that the numbers preceded the fixtures, which I opted for because the formatting is more agreeable. Fucking knew someone would pick me up on that
-
Also think it's unlikely they'd repeat that mistake, they still haven't recovered from the last time yet. Besides, couldn't they also get into No. 10 through Labour?
-
I mean I almost said, 3 pts and a draw either way around for Norwich or Burnley The former have won 2 of their past 5 games though, their form isn't that far off ours.
-
That said, we don't know yet either - we had 3 home wins in a row against lower table opponents, our star signing is out for weeks, and the teams below us don't quite look dead and buried to me. If you look at our fixtures for the rest of the season, I reckon they're thinking something like this (0=loss, 1=draw, 3=win): 1 - Everton (A) - rescheduled 0 - Southampton (A) - rescheduled 0 - WHam (A) 1 - Brentford (A) 3 - Brighton (H) 0 - Chelsea (A) 3 - Palace (H) 0 - Spurs (A) 1 - Wolves (H) 1 - Leicester (H) 1 - Norwich (A) 0 - Liverpool (H) 0 - City (A) 1 - Arsenal (H) 3 - Burnley (A) (comes to 15 pts but still)

Why informal? I mean it's good news though, and absolutely fundamental for us to succeed here. Perhaps it's a bit too confident to go out there and proclaim an alliance this early on, testing the water I guess. I hope it firms up.

Tbf I can imagine the panic setting in for families down south when little Tarquin has his £3000 designer hat blown clean off his head at the next Arsenal game. Imagine the scenes man.
-
If they fall much further we'll be able to buy them using the excess Patreon funds.
-
I mean that's what the unranked gamemode is called tbf
-
You mostly play casual then I guess? I'm happy to get a session in at some point with the 3 of us although the skill discrepancy between myself and adios is a little wide Any highlights you wanna share of goals would also be welcome

Joelinton is a decent fucking player. Thanks for sharing that, really makes it clear.

Surely only MF can say by what metric he is comparing Howe to Keegan, and therefore only MF can settle this (and he arguably did in his first post anyway). Howe could certainly become as important a figure to the club as Keegan though, he could be here for the next 20 years for all we know. Think of all the ups and downs, glories and failures, we could have in that time. That said, the same is true of any half decent manager who could join us. Whether any manager can mean as much to the fans as Keegan does given the fact that the world has simply changed since then, I don't know tbh, I reckon probably not.. but fist said "as important to the club" and I can see that being true.

Malmö Quays Tower - please help stop this fucking monstrosity
Rayvin replied to Monkeys Fist's topic in General Chat
Isn't there a whole new residential area down there? How on earth do the residents feel about a whopping great tower popping up? I used to live around there anyway so I'll sign. -
RTG is up in arms, season tickets being cancelled, season ruined, betrayal, the works. Could be worse though lads, you could have been taken over by Saudi Arabia, something you all desperately profess to be thankful to have avoided
-
Meaning Dreyfus doesn't own enough of the club to dictate how it moves forward. I think they'll struggle with that tbh, potential for a superb implosion here.
-
It is. I suffer from migraines and rely on dark mode everywhere.
-
Jermain Defoe. Single-handedly carrying the whole team, no?
-
Where are you seeing that he is disliked?
-
What have Labour done in the last week to lose 4%? That cannot possibly be the Saville stuff, are people really that fucking stupid? Although I note the greens took 2% of it so maybe its the fight he picked over the Ukraine as well. Never did understand who that was meant to appeal to since the right wing is pro-Putin anyway.
-
Based on what we've seen so far, things look really good. I had a few concerns at the start but was fine with him as a stopgap appointment. Now though, I think the positive feeling around the club if he steers us clear of the drop, especially in the manner he's doing it, will make it inevitable that he should continue long term. I think he's an incredibly competent manager.

Do you reckon actual Steve Wraith sits there seething at this guy's comments?
