What annoys me about all these Tory party machinations is that it always looks like they think they're playing some kind of game. People's lives hang in the balance of your decisions you ignorant fucks. If you want to try an actual revolution instead of replacing one waste of space with another equally morally bankrupt waste of space, then maybe you can start crowing in the way you always, always do. Have some shame and replace the man who would be out of his depth running a nursery, and get fucking serious about running the country.

The Entirely Reasonable Potential Transfers Thread
Rayvin replied to Ayatollah Hermione's topic in Newcastle Forum
So far it feels to me like they're trying to take players who will go down with us in order to maximise the value of the buys. I'm fine with this approach really; if we go down then we'll be more than kitted out well enough to handle the championship. I'd imagine that's the stumbling block for everyone else though. That said, I recall someone saying that Botman would run on until the end of the window for one reason or another, so maybe there are still movements waiting to happen. -
I like Howe, I'm not saying we should get rid or anything, he's done well to get any sort of reaction from the players and I think he could take us forward. However. I really like Rafa as a human being and someone who really gets the club. I'd have him back in any capacity, frankly.

Fair enough.

Is anyone else playing Wordle, and if so, is there enough interest to have a thread on here? https://www.powerlanguage.co.uk/wordle/

At the very least, the new owners are trying to get us out of it. That's something we should all appreciate.

It's the cup final reference that makes me suspicious Come on man, only mackems bang on about being everyone's cup final. If we go down, most of the championship will hardly give a fuck since they're all Premier League also rans who have played us enough times over the years not to get overexcited at the prospect. We're buying players who would probably come down with us, so we should be pretty much certain to go back up. The championship will barely notice or care that we're even there.

That's superb. It genuinely doesn't occur to him that he's throwing shit on Johnson until right at the end Up until that point, oddly enough, I think he was fully in the clutches of the truth.

As Gemmill says, you could find evidence for the same acts from Jeremy Corbyn, Bernie Sanders, George Soros, Stalin, whoever, and none of us would stand up to try and defend them.

You were the one going on about how there might be something to all that pizzagate stuff the other day, that's all I'm saying. I mean, would you be so forgiving of him in this respect if it were Bill Clinton? I am a whiny, Guardian reading EUrophile. The jibes mean nothing to me, I'll happily embrace that. I doubt you're an incel but you're clearly a middle aged man who is worried that the whole world is out to get him and that if he isn't vigilant about that, he's going to be left with nothing. I don't get it, since that's clearly not going to happen, but you do you. Why you've gone out of your way to speak in defence of Prince Andrew, I don't know. He's a rich buffoon with hardly two brain cells to rub together, who has done nothing in life to earn the lifestyle and status he has. His is not a hill to die on.

Asprilla man...Surely elite, world ruling rich wankers who are also paedos is exactly - fucking exactly - what right wing conspiracy theorists should be getting out of bed to shout and scream about..? He's even managed to incorporate pizza. It literally is pizzagate ffs. What more could you want?? He doesn't even sweat ffs. You know what else doesn't sweat? Lizards. He's a Lizard person. QAnon was right all along!! How is the right not beside itself right now, he's the walking embodiment of everything they think runs the world. Other than the fact he's not left wing.

Does the US have a cat in hell's chance of extraditing him though?

So this looks like it'll be two new first team signings and we're a third of the way through the month. I think the new owners are doing alright on this front tbh
-
We're definitely going to have to endure some sort of redemption arc from him when this particular branch of populism dies out. I wonder what that 15 year old version of him would have to say about where he is now. I also kinda wonder who it was that corrupted him.

Labour have not won in my politically aware lifetime, and I have at no point been on the winning side of any democratic exercise. So my pessimism is based on the trials by fire I've experienced within democracy

I can see the logic, especially with the dearth of talent they have, but honestly man they'll just contrive some new bullshit to win next time no matter who is in charge. Arguably the best thing that can happen to the Tories longer term now is that they lose next time and then can blame Labour for ruining their "otherwise flawless" Brexit, but I doubt it'll actually come to that. They'll summon up some manner of short term bullshit for everyone to get excited about, the press will expose the fact that Starmer was once filmed putting the milk in before the water when making a cup of tea, outrage will ensue, and that'll be that.
-
Surely a good proportion of people saying he's still an asset are Labour voters wanting him to stay because of how useless he is.

Gonna align with Fish and Gemmill on this - given how much of a fuck on signing players seems to be we've done well to get one in early doors. I think most of us would have been happy with 3 in place by end of the window and I still reckon that'll happen. Still also think this team as it presently is can scrap itself into some points in the coming days. -
I mean it's par for the course at this point I suppose.
-
I think I can safely and sincerely agree with that.

I would be interested in seeing the gap between incomes taken and government expenditure on that front. I mean it must be public knowledge to some extent in order for the government itself to be accountable. Governments could absolutely spend the money better, we've seen that with PPE scandals and so on over the last year. You need rules in place to ensure the money isn't given away through intentional corruption (i.e. the Tories) or through poor and unaccountable management (Labour, at least as far as their local councils go). Transparency is very important as a result. I've often thought that a good way of solving this problem would be to bring in private sector consultants who specialise in efficiency/cost savings and pay them a -fair- rate, but incentivise them further by saying that they get a 10% percentage of any savings made over the course of the coming 5 year period or something like that. This means they are encouraged to fix as many problems as possible first time around. Obviously you need to have pushback from the management structure of whatever service you're dealing with to ensure non-financial performance metrics are adhered to, but that would be the give and take you would normally expect. After the 5 years, the service just keeps the lasting benefits. However, full disclaimer, I'm a management consultant who specialises in reducing costs and efficiency, so I would say all of this

Those LIARS! They're just trying to manipulate the system to they can buy players before they have to play Brentford. We should push for a full investigation into this immediately!

Eddie Howe’s sell out trippy mags vs Cambridge’s daft punt boat nonces

I don't think we should let that one worry us too much. We were fairly confident before it and the cup can always throw up results like this. Will feel a lot better if we get a few new players in this week but I doubt we'll see another performance that bad. -

I do wonder a bit if all the speculation about signings is eating at the players though. Maybe they're throwing the towel in since they're getting replaced anyway? -
