  1. Is it official??? I've seen a few front running stories saying it's about to be announced but I'm not going to get carried away until it's formally confirmed..
  2. Still very skeptical. Why would Palace spend £6m on Pardew? Why? Surely they cannot be that incompetent.
  3. Fair enough I suppose, but that'd be the end of his dreams of getting anywhere with bigger clubs. Under no stretch of the imagination are Palace even a sideways step from us. Two or three down at least. I'm a little hesitant about this due to who we might end up with instead...
  4. Why would Pardew go to Palace though...? To get relegated?
  5. Trains are pathetic in this country when it comes to snow. As far as possible I avoid travelling over Christmas at all; too often it's ended in tears/delays/replacement bus services/standing in cold stations for two hours.
  6. This was entirely predictable - missed this due to family commitments but then I never expected much from it anyway. Perhaps this is it for us though - our level. Utter mediocrity. I've been hoping, slightly naively, that there might be something more than this some day, but this season has made me believe that actually, this club is never going to be going anywhere. At least there were a lot of happy childhood memories. I find myself increasingly uninterested in the sport in general these days - I guess that's what happens if you consolidate power and success amongst two or three clubs though. Coupled with the utter bullshit that's going down in Qatar, it's becoming hard for me to justify on any level why I might want to continue caring about any of this.
  7. In earnest, as can be seen from the reaction to the defeat on here, no one considers it to be a particularly big deal any more (at least on TT). Maybe that's a sign of change in attitude, but it could also be apathy about the way our club is run.
  8. To be fair, Blackpool is an absolute joke of a club.
  9. I should clarify that I'm just following the crowd, I don't actually know what we're doing here.

  11. And possibly to spite Sunderland. Still though, he made that pass to Sissoko in the Chelsea game for the second goal... he has his moments.
  12. Up at 5.30 for work - figured that if I can get in early and get a few processes going, I'll be able to shut the place down and send everyone home around lunchtime. It's amazing how motivated the team become when an early finish is on the horizon I'm exactly the same mind...
  13. Fully, fully agree. FIFA clearly aren't listening so our press should now be going after the FA. It's obscene what they're attempting to brush under the carpet here. I'm not even sure that FIFA have done a damn thing to prevent this.
  14. I always liked this story - clear evidence that the normal people on both sides of the war remained decent human beings - led by psychopaths at the top. Cheers for posting.
  15. I think the total non-reaction IheartDC is getting here is slowly killing him, his posts are getting more and more frantic. He's had people agreeing with him and wishing him Merry Christmas.
  16. Yeah but in fairness, we'll always be able to blame Pardew and normal service should resume under a manager of competence. It's a shame they didn't get relegated a couple of seasons back though, it would've saved a lot of points for us...
  17. Seriously? There's a part of me that really thinks fair play to him on that front, but at the same time that makes him really quite delusional in is self-visualisation. Imagine if that got shattered. Was the autobiography good?
  18. Fair point. I'll rephrase - Moussa is really fucking good at countering.
  19. To be fair to Pardew, we're actually pretty fucking good at countering. It's not going to matter this time though. Am expecting a hammering - Alnwick vs Van Persie, Falcao and Rooney? He'll have to play the game of his life. Even with our pretty good countering, we rely on some outstanding defending and goalkeeping from time to time, and he just isn't up to it.
  20. Plus we have Allardyce's West Ham being lauded as playing 'attractive football' that involves the use of Andy Carroll and Stephen Downing. Outdated football methods challenging for the CL places...
  21. Maybe he means he'd rather lose 1-0 than 3-0, and this was therefore a huge success versus our previous outings. Although I would have thought his preference was for 4-0s.
  22. Well maybe but then Liverpool have fallen farther than we have since last season. We're actually doing alright just looking at the table - at least to the untrained eye. Not hugely convinced of Rodger's managerial credentials I have to say, although that might just be because he's working for Liverpool currently, and their plight is amusing.
  23. How does he get such an easy ride from the press? Is it just the fear of being banned? Saying that, it's not like journalists ever really challenge any manager - they're just mouthpieces.
