That can't be right, we can't have a profit of £52m/year surely?
-
I mean, supposedly 10 clubs were interested. How many of them would have paid him more than £30k/week on the other hand...
-
Doubt Arsenal need him. What for? They have Giroud and Welbeck. Palace probably would want him but I don't think he'd go to them before us, even with our managerial issues. Schalke and Dortmund maybe.
-
With Cisse going the other way? I thought they were interested in him...
-
Ok sounds good, but will Charnley have noticed/be at all concerned?
-
At least he's better to look at than Blatter whose face looks like it's in constant danger of sliding off...
-
How good is that lad from Notts Forest supposed to be then? Is he the answer in defense?
-
That's genuinely very interesting. Fair enough then, maybe it is for the best. If a team other than Celtic win it in the next 10 years, perhaps that'll be the proof.

I still don't even get what he's doing getting involved in that mess. I was thinking about the prospects of him selling though, and wondered if (wishful thinking) he might be vindicated in the years to come. Under FFP there's absolutely no prospect of a super wealthy buyer coming along as they won't be able to invest their money to get the desired results. As such, no football clubs will be looking particularly attractive these days. Lerner has been trying to sell Villa for years without any joy, and its apparently for this reason. The only way I think a football club could become an attractive proposition, is if it's one run like we are; profit making with relatively low costs. If that's the only way that Ashley can get out of the club then maybe we should actually be pleased that he's doing this. Although the paradox I suppose would be that if he was more ambitious, we probably wouldn't want him out of the club anyway.

Taking Ibrox as collateral isn't going to be popular. Looks like Rangers are going to fall apart again here...a disaster for Scottish football, given how pointless it's been since they fell apart again last time.
-
He's just trying to go for it. While we don't think he's good enough, this is the opportunity he's been waiting for his whole life by the sounds of it. Can't blame him for trying to go for it. Charnley is the one to get angry at if it goes ahead.

I mean, this is never going to happen (and I wouldn't be too surprised if it turned out to just be an elaborate advert for Paddy Power) but even so, fair play to him. Isn't there some middle eastern prince running as well? I can't see Blatter being too worried about either of them, but you never know. It's a shame that it's all based around cronyism.

Was gonna say, couldn't tell you a fucking thing about Southampton.
-
Torres just scored for Atletico..!
-
Them missing Schneiderlain is a big positive of course, but saying that, we'll probably only draw at best. This team beat Man Utd away last week, and I doubt we're going to present a sterner challenge...
-
Sort of implies that it won't be Carver though, don't you think?
-
What do you reckon will happen then? They keep sweeping through the middle east? They eventually lose interest and disband, probably turning on each other?

But presumably someone sat down and said "Right so, this is how much we'll earn for promotion back into the SPL over a 3 year plan, this is how much we're planning to budget for it, and this is what we have." Like any sensible business would. It's not like they missed a step getting back is it? They've been promoted each year. Which means that they've either not sat down and worked out how much revenue they'd make over the course of that period, or they've massively overestimated attendance revenue. Either way someone needs shooting.
-
They'll get it from somewhere, there's no way they're going to let it end up in Administration again. Saying that, how are they still in the shit? Wasn't the whole going bust thing supposed to sort this out?
-
He's taken the ground and a few other assets as a security against his loan but I don't know if that would mean transfer of ownership... although the effect might be quite similar.
-
I think he's just being opportunistic with Rangers - doesn't sound like any of it has been very well thought through.
-
I'm not sure if I should find that offensive It's coming across as complimentary though.

That is brilliant. Squires seems to go for Liverpool quite frequently, and it's always enjoyable. He did a good one on Mourinho a little while back as well.
