And I mean the country, not the highstreet shop. I found some cheap flights and accomodation so I'm taking the missus away for a long weekend in March. Trouble is, I'm getting a bit nervous about the food there. Reading a guidebook, they specialise in such delicacies as putrified shark meat (which apparently will make almost anyone hurl), roast puffin (which I'm willing to try), and whale blubber (which I'm not). To compound matters, my wife is a non fish-eating veggie. Still, if I can't stomach the food, I can always go to Macdonalds - a bargain at £15 for a big Mac. Has anyone got any recommendations on restaurants or bars in Rejkjavik? Preferably ones where the food is edible and I won't have to remortgage the house to buy?

It is shite but I can think of a fair few that are a lot worse. Mind, there's literally dozens of excellent restaurants in town now compared to 10 years ago, so there's no reason to slum it in a dump like that.

Btw, to maybe clear things up hopefully, cancer is usually considered cured if it goes into remission for 5 years or more. At this stage, it is assumed that all the malignant cells have been killed by treatment or the body's immune system. I can only recall of one case of someone dying from recurrence after this time. It can happen, but it's incredibly rare, so rare in fact that you can effectively discount it.

I think you're speculating wayyyyy too much here. I think it's perfectly possible for him to balance his football with his family life, people have to cope with these things all the time. I mean look at Robson - he got cancer twice and never lost his love for the game.
