1. Herzeus! I knew what you meant man! It's just most people where I work (the council) bury their head in the sand and when the shit does hit the fan, they pass the buck, go off on stress or (even more likely) get a promotion. 87148 You must be the council's chief honcho by now then?
2. Reminds me of a story a friend once swore was true (but later I found it on snopes the lying bastid). Anyway, the story goes there's a school lesson and everyone is looking at cheek scrapings down a microscope. A nubile school girl says to the Scottish teacher " sir, what's this?", to which he replies "My God girl, that's a sperm!". She runs out the class crying etc. You can substitute schoolgirl for schoolboy if you want to make it more shocking. Though I guess on this forum nothing's shocking any more.
3. I don't think I physically could do it, which leaves only one option . Pretty gay thing to talk to your mates about like, do you do it too to find out what it feels like?
4. I suggest you read the definitions more carefully to avoid future embarassment.
5. I want to see photos before I ask Gemmill for a date like. I'm a bit concerned about what I'm hearing. And he is an accountant.
6. The money could certainly have been better spent, but without Owen we would almost certainly get relegated. What is it, 6 points from the games he's missed? I blame Souness for the state we're in, yes, but in a more global sense than the signing of one player. You have to look at the bigger picture on who he got rid off as well. We should never have had to rely purely on one injury prone striker. 87066 If he'd only had more cash though he could have brought in a few more injury prone strikers. 87072 Not that long ago that we relied heavily on the injury prone Craig Bellamy and before that, an injury prone Alan Shearer. We went to shit when they were out of action as well IIRC - Souness's fault? 87078 I don't think you could say Shearer was injury prone to be fair. We did rely on him too much though and still do. Who has played him almost every match this year and is trying to persuade him to stay for another?
7. By the way, by asking me specifically, you're not obsessively stalking me are you?
8. Bob Geldof may smell, but at least he's saving African babies. My Humber Bridge smells like roses man. 87041 Don't only lasses have Humber bridges? 87045 wtf is a humber bridge tbh? 87062 Well, if Grimsby on the one side is a place that smells of fish, then Hull... 87063 SLP in major faux pas! 87067 Yes, it means the female perineum (according to Roger's profanisaurus). For men, you're better off using the term barse.

10. If that's true we may well have seen the last of him in a black and white shirt 87054 Oh joy. And we're only paying him an alleged £110,000 a week. What a bargain.

12. What does catamitic mean? 87030 I'm not sure, but I've got the Oxford Dic from 1969 (oo-er) in front of me that defines 'Catamite' as 'n. boy kept for homosexual practices.' 87040 Oh. Hey Happyface, is that dictionary.com free? Seems like a canny resource, my OED online has expired.
13. Agreed, but I wish he'd do the popular thing right now! 87006 I would imagine he would if the money was available, there was someone suitable to take over, etc. 87009 What's that got to do with anything?
14. Agreed, but I wish he'd do the popular thing right now!
15. It still saddens me to think that if Robson had been given £50m in July 2003, we'd possibly still be a Top 4 team now. We were just a defensive midfielder and one or two defenders away from being a top team. What we needed at the time was 3-4 new faces. That's where Shepherd keeps going wrong - he backs the wrong managers at the wrong time. 86990 I agree with that, especially the bit about timing. Whatever you think about him, the timing of the dismissal of Dalglish was absurd, and I would also add he clearly didn't do his homework on his replacement. Gullit had to go when he did, but it was just good fortune that Robson was availble. And the timing and nature of Robson's sacking was nothing short of disgraceful. And now he is keeping on a manager who is clearly damaging the club - why? Because he gave a third rate manager a ridiculously lucrative contract with no option to sack him when he didn't produce. And now we can't afford to sack him because Shepherd has blown all the money on supporting him buying third rate players. Hardly good chairmanship, is it? I've said it before and I'll say it again. This club needs a professional acting chief executive to make the football decisions - Shepherd has proven time and time again he is incompetent in this respect. The blame ultimately lies at the top, it always does.
16. Shepherd is doing neither right now though, is he? I hope we don't end up getting relegated for the sake of a few million quid or hurting Freddy's pride.
17. Or "I left it on the [team] bus"......
18. I doubt there's ever been a more ironic comment in the history of the net! FACT 86868 What do you mean? Are you implying I'm obsessed with someone? If so, who exactly? Seriously I have no clue what you're talking about. 86895 Really? You're worryingly obsessed with arguing against everything Gemmill says tbh. Even when he hasn't commented on a subject, you always manage to suggest that he'll contradict you... 86901 And you always seem very quick to contradict what I say. For instance, here I state that Gullit appears to be obsessed with Shearer, based on the fact that he always slags him off when interviewed, which you have used to claim I'm a hypocrite somehow..... As for me being obsessed with Gemmill, that's bullshit. I often do comment about him, because he is the only poster who seems accepting of our situation. He still refuses to acknowledge that he actively supported Souness as choice of manager as well - despite you finding absolute proof of this. And anyway, Gemmill frequently answers me in threads, or brings me up in threads I am uninvolved in, so it's a two way thing. The most ironic thing ever said on the internet? Give your head a shake man.

20. Fucking hell, that must have been awful! Was this the flight? Tell you what, this thread is going to really put me off flying even more soon.
21. Don't worry - if the plane crashing doesn't kill you then the DVT's will Question! Do you get any more leg room on a ridiculously long-haul flight? 86804 I always have on scheduled air lines, but not charters. I'm sure flying to Oz you will have considerably more room mind.
22. Oh come on, he is obsessed, that line proves nothing. He is always banging on about Shearer, he used to slag him off before he even became our manager. It's absurd to twist it and say hit's the press that bring it up, he could always offer no comment. As for upsetting people, you got that right. He lost the Chelsea dressing room leading to a players revolt even though they were doing OK. And he victimised Rob lee, apparently purely because he was Shearer's mate. He left Newcastle just before he was sacked not because Shearer forced him out, but because the football and results were awful. Paul Robinson for number 9 anyone?
23. Trouble is he still will only score once in a blue moon. I doubt he will make much difference.
