1. I can see it pissing off Germans mind, but then most war films must do that.
2. Oh aye yeah, you might be right. Anyways I think the one thats based on actual battles is a bit sick tbh, seeing as theres ex-servicemen still alive and all that. If that was me and I'd lost mates I'd be devo'd if I saw my grandson and his mates playing that with retarded grins on their faces. 39655 Ban it along with Saving Private Ryan tbh. 39659 I thought that was actually quite good in it's treatment of war and the devastating effects it can have on it's participants. A good anti war film tbh. 39662 Yeah it was good and made you think. As did both CoD and MoH when I played them. 39669 Are you having a laugh? What did they make you think of? What next - Invasion of Basra on Playstation 2? 39673 About how terrible war is, in much the same way as SPR did. What's the difference? Have you actually played these games - they are very well done and pretty tasteful - there's also almost no gore. Compared to GTA, they are harmless and even educating. Not that I have a problem with GTA either like. 39680 I dont play computer games generally. It's bad for the complexion. And regardless of the absence of gore (which I dont necesarily accept to be a good thing because war tends to be very 'gorey'), I just think that it trivializes what the participants experienced. Which was a living hell. If you like the game though then thats one good thing I s'pose. 39691 I'm surprised at your attitude a bit, and I think you're wrong. It doesn't trivialise the war a bit imo, like I said, it is well done and gives you plenty of facts about what happened. Interesting question though I suppose - at what point can horrific events in the past be used as entertainment, and is this different for the mediums of literature, films, and computer games? If so, why? Hmmmm.
3. Well perhaps you'd like to share with us what this world of difference is? Besides, I don't think it is very likely that very mant veterans will be playing this stuff, do you?

If that was me and I'd lost mates I'd be devo'd if I saw my grandson and his mates playing that with retarded grins on their faces. 39655 Loosely based. 39666 It would be pretty hard to have an interactive game that was based exactly on events as they happened in a Second World War battle though 39667 I believe there is a game based on the present Iraq conflict that is based exactly on ongoing real-life events - can't remember what it's called, but I can see why that is controversial. Nothing wrong with CoD though imo.

8. When I was kid I had a soft spot for Rangers. Then I reached double figures in age and grew up, then knowing how bloody ridiculous it is to support a team because of religion. Sadly, that doesnt appear to be the case with all too many. I think it started with my mate who went to a catholic school being almost kicked out because he wore a Rangers scarf to school once. I mean - have you ever heard anything so f****** unbelieveable and pathetic ? At my school (Benfield Rd) you could just about walk around covered in Celtic scarves and no bugger would have said a thing - laughed, mind yes. But not went to the insane extremes of St Augustines. 39484 Thing is, its not all about religious hatred, for most its just about supporting their team, just like any other city. True, there are a sizable proportion of people who bring the religion bollocks into it, but this is by no means universal. Ask yourself the question, if you were from Glasgow, who would you support? Probably not Partick..... The way some people get worked up on here about the religious hate in Glasgow is quite funny really. In my experience it is no worse than the local hate shown between us and the mackems. For instance, I bet I could wear a hooped top safely in 80% of the bars in Glasgow, if I wore black and white stripes in Sunderland I'd get chinned for sure.
9. Sounds like Sean Connery to me.
10. Hmm, now why would a Rangers fan pick a username that was invented by Celtic fans to take the piss out of Souness? As for the questions, I would have to say the Broons because of Maggie.
11. I noticed you were very quiet today when he was posting....
12. Of course he's a wum. I mean it's blatently obvious, isn't it?? Quite funny imo. 39188 Lost on Phil like 39190 Well. You're easily amused. 39192 If you look down the forum you'll see a few posts started by Souness is God. Read them and draw your own conclusions.

14. I'm confused. So who's been offending who then? Is it offensive to say Rangers are in crisis?
15. I suppose you've tried the Smiths?
16. It's not anyones's fault, but surely you concede that a foreign multibillionaire buying an EPL club essentially as a plaything is not good for football. Not only have they literally made it impossible to compete for the premiership, they have completely fucked up the transfer market at a time when thransfer fees were stabilising. People talk about the dominance of Liverpool in the 70s and 80s, or ManU in the 90s, but this is different. Chelsea can buy anyone they want, money no object. They don't have to make a profit or even balance the books. As long as Abromovich is there they will win the premiership every year for 10 years. Now that is boring. And yes, it is partly Souness's fault. Apparently he turned them down, or so he says. Pity, it would have been a great leveller. 39111 Agreed, I don't think it's necessarily good for the Premiership, but to say he's ruining it is a little bit strong. I personally thought it was ruined when Man United used to win it all the time. 39154 They fucking well ruined the 95/96 season like 39156 True!
17. Calm down Rob. I think, and sincerely hope, this is a joke poster. FTP and B&Q!
18. Oh how we laughed. You can do another one about Bruce Dyer later.....
19. Hold on, wouldn't that have clothed female competitors with a naked man at the finish line, legs akimbo?
20. Naked and legs akimbo and we've got a race. Actually, can we make it shuttle runs, what with the time it takes Shola to turn I'd piss it. 39128 I think you have just described a potential new Olympic event. I'd watch it.
21. Owen missed a one on one against James, does that mean he isn't a top rate stiker? Not saying Shola is going to be top class or whatever but you can't read too much into one missed chance. 39113 It's not just one missed chance though is it? He's been missing for about 5 years now has he not? I agree with you btw that he does get unfair criticism, but I think this is because we know from experience he isn't good enough for us.

23. I had always thought that was Dyer, but I have nothing to back that up I admit. It just seems like something he would do, although I can imagine Bellamy doing it too.
24. Renton

Revolver

It's possibly the worst film of any genre ever. 39012 Bastard! You have now piqued my curiousity so much I'm going to have to see it! 39034 Noooooooo! If you must see it, then download a pirated copy or sneak in. I feel abused after last night. Would you want Guy Richie to profit from abusing me? 39061 Oh OK then. I'll go and see "Goal" instead.
25. He was obviously going to be a bad thing, but what can anyone do? I don't think it is an over exaggeration to say he is ruining the premiership.
