  1. Hate doing this but I don't think he thinks Darlington is in Scotland (as he lives partly in North Yorkshire), it was just a usual tory non-sequitor to avoid the point. Unlike most of these cunts, Sunak isn't stupid, he's just a cunt.
  2. Yeah, the myth foreigners were taking our jobs is well and truly exposed. But this issue isn't fixable with Brexit and no FOM. Visas aren't the answer to seasonal shortages in agriculture and services. This isn't going away, it's a permanent block to economic growth people like Truss keep banging on about.
  3. Woke up feeling cold. It's grey, dull outside. Fuck this miserable British climate.
  4. The bonfire seems ti have set fire to London
  5. Well aye. Also fuck business. This is such and, self inflicted wound, and neither party will even acknowledge there's a problem.
  6. Good thing about cats and dogs is they can be happy solo. I'm caught up in a guinea pig cycle. They can't really live alone so when one dies, you need to replace it. It's a form of rodent immortality.
  7. Not even going to hit 30 here according to the Met and there's a lovely sea breeze. This is my reward for all the days I've been buried under sea fret whilst it was glorious 2 miles inland.
  8. My recollection of childhood is people frequently coming into schools to tell us never to get into cars with strangers, even if they gave us sweets. They'd never tell us why. So I probably still would have, but it never happened because I was an ugly kid. Public service broadcasts were mint though. As well as Charlie I always remember an advert about not changing lanes at a T junction cos you'll get rear ended. Bizarre.
  9. Hey, I'm fine. Got a couple of days off work, outside in the garden with the kids, actually cool and breezy here. Massive paddling pool to cool off when needed. Think the happy pills I'm on are actually working now, shame I needed them, but that's 21st century living for you. Going for a sea swim later, and will actually enjoy the warmer than normal sea temperature, there's a plus. No point in pretending everything is going to be okay with this country or indeed globally though. Because it clearly isn't, to me at least . The main reason for this is we live in a post truth society, where realities are ignored, so we can't react to them. Brexit is just an example of this. Plus the short termism of politics and its ridiculous partisanism. Maybe I'm wrong, maybe we will develop technical solutions to climate change in time, or we will adapt to huge areas of the globe becoming inhabitable? Look at our leaders and what do you reckon?
  10. First there was "Brexit means Brexit" Then there was "Get Brexit done" Now there is "Keep Brexit safe" from these cunts, and "Make Brexit Work" from the spineless opposition. A country run on three word slogans whilst it burns, both literally and metaphorically. "Burn baby burn". I think deep in our hearts, most of us know now it's too late and the gig is up. Climate change will completely fuck up the World and our children's future will be worse than ours. Even if we could change the trajectory politically we simply can't. I really don't envy the younger generations and feel lucky I might have lived through the best times this country had to offer. Think @Rayvin made the point that the only thing to fight for now is the rate of the descent. I think he's right.
  11. This just appeared in one of my feeds. https://www.newcastleworld.com/sport/football/newcastle-united/mcdonalds-launch-newcastle-united-themed-menu-for-geordie-star-sam-fender-3772766
  12. So food inflation. A tin of Heinz beans in Sainsburys is now 1.20. 1.40 in the Coop. I'm fucking sure they were about 80 pence a year ago and 40 pence not long ago. Giot a litre of organic milk from the local Sainsburys tonight. 1.75. It was 1.35 2 weeks ago. Seriously, what the fuck is happening here? Not even mentioned petrol or energy bills yet.
  13. Appointing her as Culture Secretary of all things was pure trolling. That's what he's reduced Parliament to. We have got to get rid of these cunts forever.
  14. I think car thermometers are quite reliable. Had to take my mum to the Freeman today. It was 23.5 with a nice cool breeze at the coast, pretty perfect really. Driving ip Beach Road and then the coast road the temperature kept going up. In High Heaton (appropriately named) it was 34, more than 10C difference over the distance of 8 miles. Honestly found that heat, with no noticeable breeze, almost unbearable. Took the kids to Paddy Freeman Park and my youngest was like a dog locked in a car, poured a litre of water over her to stop her getting heat stroke. Drove back, and it's now a lovely 21.5 here. Gennuinely feel for you guys hitting 40. We're not equipped to cope with it.
  15. Renton

    Hobbies.

This really doesn't sound like a good idea CT. Or knowing you you're creating an online alibi for yourself right now, buying some life assurance, and in a few weeks times the headlines will be "Boldon man, missing at sea, last scene on inflatable kayak." Panama hat washed ashore.
  16. Apparently Truss has been reading toontastic and was going to use ACP's post until Sunak got wind of it.
  17. Viz top tip. Save money on holidaying abroad and that great feeling the holidays just begone by wairing for the hottest day of the year, drawing the curtains, dressing in linen clothes, sunglasses, and having a few mini-bootles of beer, wine, or spirits. Then open your front door and feel the blast of hot air. Voila, you're transported to Alicante airport, with that mouthwatering expectation of 14 days in the Benidorm sun. For 3 seconds.
  18. It's night time heat that fucks me. We're all supposed to insulate our houses foe winter but this makes summer worse. Catch 22.
  19. @Craig I ♥️ toontasric memes TM.
  20. Just had a swim in the sea. Its the warmest I have ever known for this time of year (50 years experience here!). Fucking lush tbh, perfect beach weather.
  21. Wonder why the met office and BBC are so different. Met office says max 23C in Tynemouth today, max 27C tomorrow, both perfectly manageable. BBC says 29C today, and 34C tomorrow. That's quite a range. I guess the Met office, who have a station in Tynemouth Pruory, will be more reliable. Edit: although the live reading says 26C right now and it feels like it, so maybe the Met is talking shite!
