  1. Thinking of calling an ambulance. I'm with my mum and brother, who now hate me.
  2. Cheers mates. Never thought it come to this. I feel like I'm going to die. Dreading the possible onset of seizures now. Which could actually kill me. All this for less than 2 weeks on the drink. Would love to taper but that's possible now at this time. I have literally drank everything in the house. Oh fuck.
  3. I've hit rock bottom. At leatI hope I have. Mentioned before about my alcohol addiction problems., well now I have surpassed myself. Went on holiday to the Lakes and have been been on an 11 day bender since. Got so bad I have not eaten for 6 days. Now constant vomiting which I can't shift. Bloody. diarrhoea too. Anyway referred to an alcohol addiction clinic, but my withdrawals are so severe that tomorrow I am going to check myself in to A and E for inpatient treatment. Stand a good chance of losing my family and job. I'm really messed up. Feel so ashamed. But really want this to be a turning point. Fuck this addiction. Was doing really before or so I thought, with several months completel abstention. Then in the space of 11 days I completely fucked up. Truth be told I feel like killing myself. If my wife doesn't do it for me first. Tagging @Meenzer for advice, but think my problem are worse than h. faced. Ffs.
  4. In the spirit of honesty I'll admit that I will still vote for my Labour constituent MP, who I know quite well and is a decent man. But on the rest you have persuaded me Starmer is not a solution.
  5. Have you got a link to this quote putting it in context? Also NJS you can be honest and admit you're a lexiter. That's my strong impression of the history of your posts.
  6. Rayvin has absollutely laced you lot in this debate. It boils down to the fundamental importance of truth, without that the country is fucked. Starmer is a liar and a coward. The country can't move on under his stewardship. I'm aware how much I've flip flopped on this issue but I've had enough now. The only thing I care about is the truth. If you can't give me that, if your game is to appease the liars and Gemmill's mam, you can get fucked.
  7. It was the content too. Just devoid of any ideas like SpongeBob says. Buy British. Levelling up. Go fuck yourself Starmer. I'm an internationalist and despise nationalism and your scabby union jacks. I'll vote for you by default and you know this, but fuck me if I'm going to rejoin your party.
  8. I've just been listening to Starmer there. He bored me shitless tbh.
  9. Yet every poll I've seen says most people think Brexit us going badly (by a ratio of 2 to 1) and most people would like to reverse it. Meanwhile, the Dover asylum seekers issue doesn't even feature in the top 10 of concerns, amongst conservative voters. This I what I don't get.
  10. Fucking Jormans and their stars. Of course they don't feel bad about it.
  11. They don't deserve to be in power. But the alternative is so much worse. You have a sense of nihilism that you have nothing to lose. Maybe this is true, but you must consider your kids in this equation. The idea of Truss in power for 7 years makes me feel almost suicidal. Fwiw I think labour will change in power, the changing demographics will demand it. We'll be back in the SM in a decade or so, maybe a bit longer, by which time we will be a bit of a basket case. By then though the existential threat of climate change will have results none of us can yet foresee. Always take the least worse option at any given time. That's my brand of pragmatism.
  12. It's been that way for years. Makes sense to turn back people this side of the channel. Difference n9w is your passport needs to be checked and stamped. In the near future you'll need your biometrics done as well, which will make it much worse.
  13. Yeah, on balance this, although I sympathise with Songebob and Rayvin's view. Check out the link I made just above, then tell me what will we have left after 7 years?
  14. How much damage can Truss do in two years? A fuck ton it would seem. https://www.theguardian.com/politics/2022/jul/22/bonfire-of-rights-truss-vows-to-scrap-remaining-eu-laws-by-end-2023?CMP=Share_AndroidApp_Other
  15. It will as well. Was thinking last night, I'm fucking sick of this neverending tory psychodrama, taking all the bandwidth, for at least 7 years now. For instance, why the fuck are these debates between Dumb and Dumber even being televised? 99.5% of people have no say in who becomes PM now. Just do a Zoom hustings for the twats that are tory members ffs.
  16. She will probably. But even she must know this will not be good for the country or her even in the medium term. She'll be held hostage by the ERG, that's for sure, and that is going to hurt us all.
  17. Oh. Truss can hardly back down from this either, as she is the literal author of this mess.
  18. Well, if this fruitloop is going to be the next PM we may as well take the piss out of her remorselessly.
  19. Well, Farage needs his gold plated pension.
  20. This is immediately what I though of after reading that tweet.
  21. Yeah, except every time a Newcastle player kicks a ball all I can see is them kicking a Yemenese baby now. No, really, I'm looking forward to next season a lot. And like yourself, I'm quite well insulated from the current shitshow. We got through the 80s, hopefully we will get through this.
  22. I know loads of people who have gone part time or retired entirely since the pandemic, especially in the NHS and some teachers. Not because they are ill, just that the conditions are so shit they don't want to work any more (and somehow can afford not to). ANyhow, regardless of the pandemic, all the Brexit economic forecasts predicted a collapse in GDP which was mediated by two factors. The first was obvious, the effect on non-tarriff barriers on trade. The second more important factor was reduction in the workforce, which was the thing that gammons wanted. Well congratulations you fuckers, live with the consequences.
  23. Does one of those kids say "He won't [leave]" at the end there? That's canny astute.
  24. Anybody planning to travel through DOver this summer. I don't envy you, the bloody French are causing mayhem. I'm sure they're to blame for the chaos at Heathrow, Gatwick, Manchester and Bristol airports too. https://www.theguardian.com/business/2022/jul/22/dover-port-declares-critical-incident-travellers-four-hour-queues-french-border-control
