Aye, it's fine now. Piss as clear as a mountain stream. I was dreading the old finger up the bum, a camera up your jap's eye is a new level of torment!

Is there a better fight scene in film history than the bride vs the crazy 88? This is insane. "This is what you get for fucking around with yakuzas. Go home to your mother".
-
Using my first night alone to watch Kill Bill 1 and 2 double bill, probably for the first time in 10 years. The films themselves are 21 years old now. They are fucking brilliant though. They just don't make films as good as this nowadays. Tarantino is easily my favourite director even if his work is as rare as rocking horse shit.

Am also relieved. Last night I started pissing blood. No pain or burning to indicate a UTI. This is a nightmare, especially in a bloke, as it can signify all sorts of horrific diseases. Had a think about it and went on Google. Now, somewhat ironically I've been on a health drive for the last 6 months, eat an awful lot of salad. Then I remembered I had eaten a whole punnet of beetroot which were near their use date 6 hours prior to to the blood pissing episode. They were particularly strong beetroot. I'm almost certain I had beeturia. Flushed my system out with a couple of litres of water and everything is back to normal now. Obviously I'll go to the docs again if this happens in the absence of beetroot. 👍

Woke up feeling like shite, I am now riddled with it. No point in me going now as I don't have the energy to do anything. One complication I didn't mention was it meant sharing a car with my elderly mum for 2 hours who has all sorts of comorbidities yet didn't get the last booster. Not going to have her getting sick or worse on my conscience! The rest of the family are going, I'm taking today off sick and probably working tomorrow to save my precious a/l and get back on top of my work. Fucksticks, having no luck at the moment.

Aye, cheers lads, as long as I feel okay tomorrow I'll go. Good excuse to not hang around the bar and get Mrs Rents to fetch my breakfast.
-
Well aye, but, am fully with HMHM here like. The window cleaner lad was a bit part. Fucking Claire Grogan though. I still twitch when I think of her in that film. Really captures the zeitgeist and the feeling of being young and hormonal. Love this film. Full film on YouTube btw. Bullshit window cleaner nonce quote on 44 minutes.

I din't feel any symptoms until last night and the timing would fit getting it from my colleague last week. I will repeat tomorrow morning* and make a decision then though. If I'm positive, I'll not go, the wife and kids can go without me. So fucked off with this shit. * Might forget to put the swab in my nostril.

Colleague put it on teams she had tested positive last week. I had talked to her face to face. Last night, I felt a bit ill. Nowt really, slightly tight chest, general malaise. In line with bad hay fever or a mild cold. Felt better this morning, but not quite 100%, so just done a test. The line is very faint but its positive. Fucking wish I hadn't done the test now. After missing previous holidays due to my "illness" at the start of this month, I'm supposed to be walking in the Lakes tomorrow and Friday, staying at a hotel. It's non-cancellable so if I don't go that's £500 wasted and tbh that's a big hit for me cos I'm struggling a bit financially at the moment. Am I really going to sack this off due to a very faint line on a test when I feel okay, well enough to walk 15 miles over Helvellyn as intended? I've no legal requirement to self isolate, and if this was just a normal cold, which it basically is now (coronavirus have always caused 10% of colds), I wouldn't even consider not going under these circumstances. On the other hand, its clear this bugger is very infectious and I don't want to be responsible for infecting someone who might not cope as well. Really not sure what to do now.

I expect a lot more of this shit to come out of Trump's mouth. Genuinely do not know why any woman would vote for him.
-
Plus Harris was a criminal prosecutor. Think Clinton was a corporate lawyer. Not really comparable. Nice for NJS to see the negatives again though. 👍
-
Plus he's 8 years older. That's a lot of filled nappies over that period.

It wasn't part of the manifesto because of the optics of it providing the right wing media an attack line. So yeah, it was about getting votes, not getting one over the left or kids ffs. Now it's not in the manifesto they're hardly going to introduce it after 2 weeks are they? Personally, I fully believe in universal child benefit for all children. No means testing, no limits on family size. I am fairly sure Starmer, Phillipson etc also believe this. But it's not straight forward in our political climate. An additional problem is if you expand child benefit many families will hit the benefit cap and be no better off anyway. These problems are going to take a long time to sort out, at least two terms. If Starmer does half as well in tackling child poverty as New Labour did, under much, much worse constraints, I'll regard that as a success.

Oh fuck, you're for it now. Wonder woman is DC. Dave is a Marvel man. He'll be livid.
-
Oh not this again. Talking to yourself is okay, arguing with yourself, is not.
-
Well, the way you worded that it is clear what your opinion is. Therefore no, it is not.

Vance is an out and out mysogynist, he believes women should be baby machines and has a dystopian view to the future akin to the Handsmaid Tale. I cannot tell you how much people with views like this sicken me. As you say, it was the end of Leadsom here. I cannot think it will be a vote winner in the US either, espcecially coming from a man. He looks like a terrible choice of running mate, a Trumpaloompah mini me who is transparently only invested in himself, like his master. A bit of diversity may have helped Trump a bit, like Pence securing the evangelical vote. He brings nowt to the party and also appears to gaff prone and about as good as public speaking as Truss.

Yeah, I remember you saying that and it was a good call, although probably an underestimate. I don't disagree tbh. Israel were always going to get their pound of flesh at a ratio of at lease 10 to 1. As the survivors of the race most affected by the holocaust, I find this particularly disturbing. I just think the realpolitik of it meant that Biden couldn't prevent it happening, short of a military intervention against Israel itself, which is of course unthinkable.
-
I wonder if the calculation of the leaders of these countries were doing this was the best thing to placate their own domestic population? This is what it always boils down to. In the US, there is a large jewish population and undoubtedly a powerful jewish lobby. I was listening to a podcast on cosmology the other day, was a dialogue between two physicists, in a subject that interests me. Towards the end, they randomly veered off into politics and the US professor, who revealed he was jewish, started talking about the politics of Gaza in a way I found absolutely disgusting and absolutely fuck all to do with subject of the podcast. I had to turn it off and I won't be listening to him again. But it's illustrative of what we are dealing with here. You've got to recgnise that Biden was not empowered to change this horrendous situation.
-
She is on as well. Fucking hell.
-
I agree. It will wind him up, make him come up with even more racist and mysogynist stuff than he usually does, which will turn off more moderate swing voters. I think, and hope, that Kamala will be effective now she's in the spotlight. Trump's main line of attack - Biden's age - is neutralised. The biggest issue I see is she is the continuity candidate. Despite favourable economic indicators, from what I understand the average US citizen, particularly the middle classes, have been hit by cost of living just as we have. Trump isn't going to fix this of course, but people vote with their pockets first and foremost and he seems to be winning the war of persuasion.
-
Imagine drawing the short straw and having your mouth stitched to Trump's arse?
-
I've not seen any tacit approval. And yes, the relationship between the US and Israel is financially, military and culturally close and complex. Much like Starmer, Biden was damned if he did, and damned if he didn't. I bet there probably isn't a single US president in your lifetime who would meet your approval on this.
-
No. I haven't heard anyone justify Netanyahu destroying schools and hospitals. Netanyahu has done it. Putin has done it. Biden hasn't. Surely even a 6th former can see the difference.
-
Strikes me as a bit crass that comment and from the same 6th form debating school as Jones. What's happened in Israel/Gaza has been horrific and I'm fairly certain Biden and his team dod not wish for any of it. Let's put the blame where it lies, with Netanyahu and the extremists in the Israeli and Hamas' governments.
