The fair market value only applies to related parties. So I wonder if there’s any scope for favours being called in. Maybe a £100m stadium sponsorship deal with the Yemeni tourist board.

Hope he goes onto to win it now like. Ridiculous story. The footage of him playing when he’s about two is class.

The thing is though, it would be difficult to appoint Mourinho without that happening

Not as revealing as thinking Levy paid off over half of a four year contract purely to avoid paying a win bonus

Well it’s definitely his biggest test so far. In his defence the team more or less picks itself at the minute. If we get players back and we’re still playing a 4-3-3 that isn’t functioning then sone criticism will be justified. Irrespective of the injuries though, and also putting aside that the style may not be sustainable (which you and others have mooted) you get sussed anyway. The best managers need to be adaptable. Not just the likely move to a more possession-based style. But also because the league is so competitive, and so much research is done into opponents etc.

We’ll get there in terms of being able to compete because the owners will grow the revenue streams year on year. That’s not the issue. The issue is that FFP, designed to make it a closed shop, means it can’t be done in a season or two. It’ll also probably mean players like Bruno moving on if the release clause is met in the next 18 months. That’s just how it is. The so-called big 6 are somewhat restricted in how much they can stop the inevitable re: us. As we’ve seen, they aren’t a united bloc, Man City in particular not going along with some of the things they are trying to do. Then you have the ‘smaller’ clubs gradually realising the restrictions just stop them ever competing too. You’ve already had Everton (partly out of spite) and Sheff Utd (off the top of my head) not just going with the flow. I can’t see a promoted Leicester appeasing Liverpool, Spurs, etc. as FFP fucked them over in terms of not being able to build on winning the league. Which lead to the steady decline that eventually saw them go down. Also, the bigger clubs can only do so much, even if they can push stuff through, before they ultimately start harming themselves. Man Utd will want to make the most of the INEOS links etc.

Looks like we got us one of them there free thinkers.

This reminded me of a (sadly departed) friend of mine. He worked as a security guard and C&A in town. He use to come round and take his boots off after work and usually swiftly get told to put them back on again as they fucking stank. Anyway, he turned up one time at another mate’s who quipped “Here he is, the trench foot mafia’. ‘Funnier’ in the context of it being about two weeks after the Columbine massacre. And on that note, happy new year
