  1. Seen it loads of times but have a suspicion it might actually be a film still rather than a photo as it’s from up on the tv gantry above the stand iirc
  2. I mean, he’s had a far better career than Kevin Phillips, who did very well for them obviously and was a pretty good PL player. Let alone the dross also deemed worthy of legendary status like Cattermole and ‘Bally’. They’re fucking tapped
  3. I hope you’re right because if he can have a similar impact on ASM to some of the less talented ones then we’ve got a fucking top player on our hands. I totally trust the manager either way though which is such a nice position to be in for a change
  4. Majority of them will be watching it on Prime too. The irony will be completely lost on them.
  5. My dad and my eldest went to the Rayo Vallecano friendly and ASM played the full 90 and was decent apparently. I just don’t think Howe trusts him to be disciplined enough in the way he wants the team to press etc. I think a decent offer will see him leave.
  6. I thought Wood did well. He’s a good penalty taker and I was pretty confident he’d tuck that away and it probably helped his confidence when he did. Obviously he’s limited and today is about as good as it gets from him but he played his part. The interview with him and Bruno suggests there’s a great team spirit too.
  7. I think I enjoyed that thoroughly professional second half performance more than the first. We’re just so solid at the back and able to keep sides at arm’s length when we do get a lead.
  8. I’m still finding this sort of carry on to be a very surreal experience.
  9. Aye, absolutely. But the respective Isak, Wilson and Shelvey situations might mean we’ll invest more than we otherwise might’ve done this window. So every cloud and all that. It’s not like the previous regime where we’d need to be in the bottom three to see the cash splashed.
  10. Think Maddison out for them is bigger than Wilson out for us tbh. Also we really need to manage the game time of the latter with Isak still not being available. We’ve got a bit in the bench in terms of attacking options too.
  11. Always think of that when I see Bushmills now. That scene from The Wire, not you throwing up
  12. Johnny Walker Green Label, which they do a release of every now and again is usually amazing. It’s 15 yo plus it’s a blend of 100% single malts. Only from a small amount of distilleries (the blend varies from release to release). Sometime available on Amazon for bargain prices. Black Label is very decent too though. Same Chivas Regal 12. Both make a good old fashioned as well. Edit: JW Black Label is £20 on prime atm (as is chivas regal 12)
  13. I’ll tell you what happens 👍🏻 😉
  14. @Howmanheyman The Dirty Dozen’s on ITV4
  15. Used to be nice and still is if you’re lucky enough to get the real thing. Now it’s just another generic UK-brewed pale imitation.
  16. So far I’ve had some barrel-fermented Chenin blanc, some bloody lovely Tuscan red from LIdl, some Aldi 12 yo Speyside malt (also used in a rusty nail) and a couple of tots of Doorly’s XO. And a nice coffee. It is Xmas, I’m kidding myself. Can’t believe I forgot the Pedro Ximenez with the Xmas pudding
  17. Imo opinion the stuff that retails for about half of that is about as good as it gets. You get ones c. 15-18 years of age and it’s the perfect marriage of ageing without losing too much of the character. Try and find out a brand or 3 that he likes and let me know.
  18. You know how some people like the ones heavy in the Sherry maturation, then you get the ones that like the really peaty ones, then for others it’s unseated but in American bourbon cask for the true ‘distillery character’. I like them all I did not get the peaty ones at all when I first tried them mind
  19. You got any idea what he likes? As some people love the peaty stuff and it’s like kryptonite to others (for example). Also, what’s your budget?
