  1. Never added as I had nothing to contribute, but great post +1
  2. Ok, lets pick that apart. Are the Best 12 at nufc consecutive? The palace ones are, which is a harder achievement. same with the worst.
  3. I won't disagree with you there Fish.. I still get up at stupid o'clock to watch all the matches live tho, insanity.
  4. But thats my point man, Ashley is never going to appoint anyone like that. My view, but I truly believe that NUFC is nothing more than a money shifter and marketing tool for Ashley and that he's only bought it to further his retail empire. This has been obvious for years, I can't subscribe to optimism that anything will improve footballwise because football is probably NUFC's lowest priority.
  5. Howay, good post and I do hear and believe the same as you are saying about Pardew being a nightmare. BUT where I'm coming from is that Ashley always has been the problem and I genuinely think Pardew is better than we'll get with anyone else working under Ashley. That's really the angle I come from, some are adamant to try say he's total shite but he acheived more under the ashley regime than any other manager under him. Also to say that the city game was crap negative football, I just don't agree at all. Even Pardew was worse under Ashley. Long term at palace may prove me wrong mind.
  6. howayman I'd probably show to be honest, but I live in the caribbean now so won't be there. that said, I do concur with Mako. SackPardew was embarrassing how badly it failed and moreso the shite they were tweeting once he went.
  7. If we can embarrass him enough, without resorting to "cockney mafia" type comments he'll sell up and leave. He's an egotistical bastard, hurting his ego will work. But, I doubt we'll pull it off and instead look like crying babies who just dont like a southern owner, this fanbase plays into the media's hands far too often. Some of the comments made about the possible future managers are just crazy imo.
  8. I watched it and they were positive compared to newcastle and the fact that man city couldnt break down his team shows more than I think some are willing to admit. The newspaper reports listed are a selection, the mail (as much as I hate it) seem to be watching the same match I did. They worked their socks off and went out to win, positively. The angle I come from is that the fans view of sacking Pardew being a good thing shows a naivety I don't understand. He's the best we're going to get under Ashley. SackPardew and the movement against him gobsmacks me a bit, Pardew managed a kind of harmony with a bloke that must be impossible to get on with. Agree Gloom.
  9. For those on the forum that love stats, his palace record doesn't really reinforce the view that hes crap. Ashley is the disease, Pardew hasn't played a style anything like he did at nufc with palace. They outplayed city tonight.
  10. It should have been ashleyout from the start, sackpardew was a big mistake imo.
  11. Going to piss people off here, but anyone been watching the Palace games? It's much more positive than the football we ever played, and he's produced a good team out of a shower of shite. Putting pressure on him, rather than ashley will turn out to be a big mistake when O'Leary's in next year. (Who I thought was a good manager years ago, but he's been out for far too long)
  12. I've never been a Tiote fan, but whats going on in this forum? Tiote never said We're a shit team, he's asked by an opposition fan what went on today, saying "we beat you" and he says Shit team. Just as easy (perhaps easier) to interpret that as "You're a shit team" .... Jus' saying.
  13. Oh shit, David O'Leary's our next boss.
  14. Oh well there we go, a left back on for a midfielder. FFS. Anyone know anything about the Cisse injury? He can't last a match, looked ok to me coming off.
  15. Cisse's on fire, if only he can get over this injury (dodgy knee?). I suspect he won't last the full game. Boring game, but with yet another game under Carver, I still think he's instilling a more attacking playstyle and we're looking better than under Pardew - which isn't saying much. Pardews face at half time was worth watching the first half for.
  16. Done. But I have to ask, what sort of course do you do a dissertation on a premiership football club? Are they doing punditry degrees nowadays?
  17. lol, he's right though, like it or not.
  18. I'd rather Carver than some substandard French manager or Dennis Wise or some other useless cunt like Sherwood. I'm not as harsh as you lot, I think with the little time he's had he's already moving the squad in the right direction. Some good interplay and positive play, perhaps they aren't up to it technically, or more likely its going to take time to get their attacking mindset back after years of Pardew. Even Gouffran's scored , albeit a deflected mess, but at least he was in the box and not at left back.
  19. I'm with to dumb. Finally something to feel semi optimistic about. Miles better already than the negative setups we had with Pardew. We even had 2 up front at one point. Bit harsh on Obertan I reckon, yeah he fluffed his goal opportunity but he contributed to the goal didn't he (it was very early morning for me, so perhaps I screwed up) Cabella, Ameobi, Colo, Anita, Colback, Sissoko all had better games than I've seen for a while, but perhaps I'm being overly optimistic since we've rid of Pardew and not ended up with Joe Kinnear 3rd or bloody Dennis Wise. Also, I thought apart from Abeid, all substitutions were positive too, no left backs on for right wingers or anything stupid like that.
  20. It must have been bad under Pardew, I've enjoyed the first half. Cabella's looked much improved and has pace I didn't think he had, Anita has played a good game so far. Shame we don't have 2 strikers on though, worried about Cisse he seems to be the new woodgate.
  21. It's all very quiet in here at half time? Afraid to be optimistic, or are people thinking we are still shite? I reckon we're looking much better , if only because we are actually playing with some positivity going forward.
  22. Glad Gouffran's got that one, he seems more direct in the last 2 outings and I've always felt the feeling toward him and others who were Pardewed has been a bit harsh. He's a forward not a wingback like Pardew wanted. I know its only Hull, but the change in playstyle since Pardews left is noticeable and I'll give Carver credit for instilling a change so quickly. Time will tell of course
  23. It's not imagination, definitely a more positive playstyle. Carver might just be better than Pardew , let's hope so.
