  1. Woke up this morning feeling tired, hungover but with a massive grin on my face. Can't believe that result last night, or those two goals. Or this team. I honestly thought we'd roll over after Wigan. I should have judged this team on the prrformances of this season, this lot arent the gutless donkeys we've seen at the club for the best part of a decade. Two games to go and we're right in the mix.
  2. Not me! I thought 13th would be more realistic
  3. It would be funny if arsenal and chelsea were the two to miss out. Arguably man u would be the only established champions page club to finish in the top 4. Nowt like a shake up to the established order to make things a bit more interesting
  4. yeah, i keep getting weird glitches since the board was revamped with quotes appearing twice in the reply box. alex quoted me before i'd edited and cleaned up the text
  5. it's a combination of the result, the whiskey and this annoying double quote thing that seems to keep happening. oh, and fatigue. not often i post on here at this time on a school night these days. but these kind of seasons don't come around every year.
  6. so i should have said hardly instead of never. the point i'm making is pretty obvious. welcome back alex
  7. I'd be tempted to take Leazesmag off ignore if were to qualify for the champions league. I'd be intrigued to see if he changes his tune in any way.
  8. alright moody chops, i never said you couldn't
  9. you're blatantly alex btw aren't you? how come you closed the old account?
  10. i said - he lost that yard of pace by the time he joined us after he did his ankle so we never really saw that side to his game i was referring to the ankle injury he sustained while with us just after we sold ferdinand. i think it was start of his second season. never really recoverd his old game after that.
  11. it's not often you see a boo boy target turn it around to the extent perch has. he's barely put a foot wrong all season. he's come on when needed, played about 4 different positions and has looked the part every game. i'm a big fan of his well timed, crunching tackles. a perch reducer tbh
  12. yeah, it was the ankle injury he sustained while playing for us, like i said, that robbed him of his pace.
  13. see my reply above. i'm talking about shearer for blackburn. he was a very different player then to how he played for us.
  14. don't you remember how shearer played for blackburn? he used to get in behind with strength and pace, as does cisse. he lost that yard of pace by the time he joined us after he did his ankle so we never really saw that side to his game. but the way he muscles players off the ball, his strength and movement and the way he strikes the ball, instinctively, almost always hitting the target, reminds me very much of a young shearer.
  15. i fucking love pardew. he's a smarmy and cocky cunt but he's won me over. just watched the post match interview. i like his style - he speaks honestly but he's got a bit of arrogance too and i like that ... it's obviously rubbing off on the players. he's built a quality squad of players on the cheap, he's got them performing well in different systems, beating the top sides and playing with flair and belief. best manager since sir bobby.
  16. he reminds me a lot of a young shearer. anyone else? he's potentially that good. this goal ratio is like shearer in his blackburn days.
  17. another quality performance from perch. he should be starting on this form. probably ahead of simpson
  18. fuck me, what a massive game this has become for both clubs now. on sky too. can't remember the last time i was so excited about football
  19. speechless. what a result. what a player. what a season. what a team
  20. it will be unbelievable. this is a massive fixture for both clubs. when was the last time we beat chelsea in the league, let alone a game of this importance? they're still a class outfit even with the players they've dropped. buzzing if we hang on to this. it'd be one of the results of the season, no doubt.
  21. this will be an unbelievable result if we can hang on. 4th place is back on if we do hold on. cisse actually reminds me of a young shearer in his blackburn days - quick, strong, good in the air, can hold it up as well as get in behind and looks like he's going to score every time he shoots. what a player. ba looking lively tonight too.
  22. i go by look and smell too, rather than use by date. eggs being the exception. though i've always got a bag of unidentifiable green stuff lurking somewhere at the back of my fridge that i won't eat. i've got no problem with trimming of bits of cheese that have gone mouldy and eating the good stuff.
  23. don't fancy us to progress from that group tbh
