Classic Henry finish too wasn't it
-
i was back on the kettle bells today. 45 minute session, 16k weight. no more than 20 second rest between sets. mix of swings, jerks, cleans, squats, overhead press and lunges. absolutely savaged. i can't recommend this form of training highly enough for anyone that wants to burn fat and build muscle at the same time.

January Transfer window 2012- Deadline Day Madness
Dr Gloom replied to Lake Bells tits's topic in Newcastle Forum
Very good. I lol'd -
Three and a half hours sounds like overtraining to me. Why so long? An hour or 90 mins should be more than enough. Make sure you're eating like a horse too if you train that much or you'll start burning muscle.

He's an exciting player. I don't think we have another in the squad capable of scoring a goal like that. He has to get a run of games in the side now.

Obertan: Earths' gravity is no match for him.
Dr Gloom replied to Park Life's topic in Newcastle Forum
Obertan is a funny one because he seems to have some of the raw attributes to succeed - pace, decent close control, the ability to (ver occasionally) stand up a decent cross. But he never puts it into practice? He rarely takes on his man, despite having pace to burn. He usually passes back inside instead of getting to the byline to out a ball in - something that has resulted in goals on the rate occasions he's tried it. I don't get him. Is he completely lacking a footballing brain or is he scared? I suspect he doesn't have the belief in his own abilities. He needs confidence to try those things more often. Or is he just shit? -
When weighing up who should play out wide, It's easy to question HBA's defensive work. But it's pretty much impossible to make the case for Obertan getting the nod ahead of him on any level. Hatem seems the better option in all areas, Obertan a bench player at best.

Ours has got potential banana skin written all over it. ITV will no doubt show it live, playing endless replays of the Hereford game in the build up.

you weren't happier when we were playing in the CL under SBR?

FA Cup 3rd round: Newcastle Utd - Blackburn Rovers 2-1
Dr Gloom replied to Aeris's topic in Newcastle Forum
I didn't see any of the match bar the 20 seconds or so highlights on itv. Anyone who was at the game have anything to report? Did HBA start out wide? How did he look? What was Abeid like? Did we look like we missed Ba? -

Time for Ben Arfa to step it up and prove Pardew wrong for not starting him more often -
fucking hell, is that out already? Ashley doesn't miss a golden goose opportunity does he?
-
I don't think that's too far fetched. Four for me to really compete with a fantastic first 11 Krul New Taylor Coloccini Santon New Tiote Cabaye New Ba New Shame we don't still have Carroll. I reckon he'd be the perfect centre forward for Ba to play off. I reckon we're going to need a centre forward that can hold it up and that can also be more consistent and score more goals than the likes of Shola and Best to partner Ba. Pardew clearly doesn't see the Ben Arfa/Ba partnership as an option. Ba had his worst game for ages against Liverpool tbf when he was up top on his own. He looked far more dangerous playing just behind Shola and making runs from deeper positions. Jonas for me doesn't need to be replaced though mroe options on both flanks would be good. Agree though that we're only a handful of astute signings away from really competing with the top clubs. The only issue is Ashley will probably sell one of the above before he buys more.

Alan Pardew - Poltroon sacked by a forrin team
Dr Gloom replied to Kid Dynamite's topic in Newcastle Forum
I could never understand why Smith converted himself from striker to midfielder. Ok, so he didnt score many goals but he wasnt that awful a forward. He was a pest to mark in the Paul Dickov mould. Not the greatest striker but at leadt he put himself about and chipped in with the odd goal. In midfield meanwhile he really has been dreadful. He can't tackle, can't pass, hasnt scored a goal in about 5 years playing the position and is prone to go lunging in and getting himself sent off. Career ending decision by Fergie that, unless it was Smith himself that decided. He's fucking milked us for 65k a week, the twat- 10610 replies

If we can get through this window without losing tiote or colo I'll be happy.not expecting any signings at all - why bother getting your hopes up? -

Still buzzing after Wednesday plus the first weekend off work of the new year has almost arrived. Belter basically
-
Aye, I've been impressed with Taylor this season. He's improved massively - and for that i give credit to the coaching staff. He seems much more disciplined when it comes to holding his position, one of his major weaknesses in the past. He used to be a bit of a liability but his improved positional awareness combined with his deliveries make him an asset. He's earned a new contract IMO.

Another 30 odd million well spent no doubt. Keep uP the good work kenny -
Agreed. Just as LM's endless bleating about Shepherd subsides, we've got these clowns whining about Pardew and HBA not getting a start. Fucking sort it out and stop dragging the rest of us down you knackers! I repeat, if you're not buzzing after a performance like that then you're not a true fan. I still can't wipe the grin off me face 24 hours later and I just had a shite day at work.

Good read that. Cheers barney
-
if he keeps this scoring rate up then yes. he has to be a contender for player of the season too. where would be in the league without his goals?
-
We'd be mad not to offer him a final pay day after the leadership, commitment, loyalty hes shown us plus his skill and ability on the ball for a centre half. Players like colo don't grow on trees
-
We've got a world class modern central midfielder on this kid. We'll do well to hang on to him with the current owner at the helm
