  1. why not? i'm only 33 - not that much of an old fart yet . No idea mate, totally judged on your posts on the football side of things I think. Oh, forgot: and probably... and... Kanye. i'm not a big kanye fan but the new album is pretty sweet. i've got a belting dnb bootleg of golddigger too on 12".
  2. Straight Outta Compton would be my hip hop choice. a classic. i'm also a big fan of the rather underrated efil4zaggin
  3. i never realised you were a woman like CT
  4. 'i've got nothing to do except hang around and get screwed up on you'
  5. why not? i'm only 33 - not that much of an old fart yet . i started mixing hip hop and drum n bass and played out a bit at house parties and student bars when i was a student then put nights on when i first moved down to london. went to plenty of hip hop parties and big raves back in the day - mainly dnb - and even now my ipod playlists are mainly made up of old school hip hop. bit out of touch these days. stopped buying records ages ago and my decks sit on top of the shelves collecting dust now. all the kids dj crap i don't really get like grime and dubstep using mp3s on their laptops these days. not really for the purists but beats lugging record boxes around i guess. i did see jazzy jeff (best hip hop dj EVER!) play out using final scratch a couple of years ago. that was pretty jaw dropping, he was basically scratching and beat juggling with no 12"s in sight, just using computers and a bit of hardware....nuts.
  6. smoke a bunch of weed then listen to dark side of the moon. it'll change everything
  7. i'm going to have to break it down by my favourite genres i'm afraid. just can't pick a top 3 of everything indy stone roses - stone roses pavement - slanted and enchanted the smiths - queen is dead classics pink floyd - dark side of the moon the beatles - revolver marvyn gaye - what's going on hip hop tribe called quest - midnight marauders wu tang clan - 36 chambers nas - illmatic dance coldcut - journeys by dj (not sure if this counts as it's a mixtape, not original material but still a work of art) prodigy - experience roni size reprazent - new forms
  8. some gooduns in there. im struggling to get my top 20 down to 3 like
  9. christ. this requires some serious fucking thought and consideration
  10. great. so bentley goes to brum and we get their reject
  11. Really good. Played Northumbria uni, the second stage, which is a tiny room. Absolutley heaving. Reminded me of Radiohead, all the nob tweaking and building to a crescendo. Drummer is incredible. Takes centre stage with his cymbal 6ft in the air. Puts on a hell of a show. Sounds great. One for the list! Supposed to be finishing an album and touring this year...though Tyondai Braxton (vocals, guitar, keyboards) has left, so I'm not sure what they'll sound like now. Braxton was Battles. quite worried about their sophomore album tbh. Nee offence like, but I fucking hate that phrase. almost as annoying as 'the difficult second album'
  12. blatantly. the new grime/dubstep thing is mostly very average if you ask me but then i'm not that down with the kids these days. foreign beggars are awesome though. but other than them i'd say it's still the likes aspects, roots manuva and task force that are flying the flag for uk hip hop at the moment

    Mad Men

Don Draper's quality, don't you think? I was actually on the Vodka Martinis when I was viewing this last weekend the show harks back to a golden age when you could drink and smoke in the office and men basically wore the trousers and had as many affairs as possible without feeling bad while the wife stayed at home and got the tea on. we were so unlucky to just miss out on that lifestyle by a generation

    Mad Men

it's an absolute quality show. best drama to come out of the states imo since the sopranos. not massively plot diven so it's quite a slow burner and won't be everyone's cup of tea but i can't recommend it enough - it's all about the characters and their wonderful and weird relationships. it captures the era perfectly too. worth watching for january jones alone though she's had a disappointly small amount of screen time this series. joany makes up for it though.
  15. they make a bit of cash from merchandise. i think the likes of jimmy and billy the trumpeter must get help with expenses. the atmopshere's wouldn't be the same without those two. i used to love southgate's flintofff song. he did a rousing rendition of it in the eric hollies stand at edgo in last summer's ashes series. belter. here he is doing it at headingly
  16. they've been singing it a few years now to be fair. they probably are the most loyal bunch of supporters in any sport and they're unlike any other set of fans in cricket. turn out in vast numbers on ever overseas tour and make most away tests feel like home games, despite how shite england have been over the years. i only get to a couple of tests a year but it's an honour to sit among them.
  17. i wish they'd hurry up so i can watch the celebrations then go to bed. new ball coming soon so hopefully that will do the job
  18. got to love your turn of phrase
  19. bands i've seen? christ, here goes. this is live acts i've seen, not bands seen at festivals or djs and roughly in the order i saw them. i'm sure i've missed a bunch and i'm not even trying to remember support acts stone roses carter usm the las james inspiral carpets jesus jones emf ned's atomic dustbin the wonder stuff kingmaker pop will eat itself x2 blur x4 teenage fanclub suede the prodigy x2 the pogues the cure x2 manic street preachers x3 rage against the machine terrorvision therapy? shed seven radiohead sleeper supergrass the charlatans s*m*a*s*h these animal men gene the verve pulp ash the orb the bluetones oasis x 2 smashing pumpkins orbital coldcut space roni size reprazent finlay quaye roots manuva leftfield scratch perverts the libertines foreign beggars de la soul arctic monkeys x2 aspects amy winehouse q tip the streets the strokes franz ferdinand lilly allen kings of leon florence and the machine muse
  20. shocking signing. good work ethic but that's about it. massive waste of £6m plus god knows how much in wages
  21. Beautifully, Why do you think I need to diet go for a run then you can eat proper nutritious home made food without having to starve yourself of calories your body needs by eating crap like those weight watcher ready meals. seriously....absolute waste of time if you want to cut fat. i just had some home made falafel with salad and puy lentils cooked with feta, sunblushed tomatos, chili and corriander on the side Aye rightio seriously. those weight watcher meals are an absolute waste of time.
  22. no it isn't. it's stopped!. bring it on
