  1. not exactly a left back, centre mid or striker is he?
  2. i thought he looked canny at chelsea. industrious with a good touch. not sure he's the creative playmaker everyone's been hankering for but he's got to be a better option in the cm spot than the likes of geremi, barton and smith
  3. i honestly thought it was too long, as is the case in many modern films. there was no need for that film to drag on for almost 3 hours. i was really enjoying it, but like lots of films i've seen recently, i think it would have benefited from being half an hour shorter - the editors should have done their job and took their heads out of their arses. the last hour just plodded along
  4. a couple in before the weekend would be lovely but i imagine it's a bit late doors for that now. still, i fancy a result on saturday if the lads put in a similar shift as against the dirty mancs. i'm hoping to see a goal and celebration from spidey
  5. i'm not admitting that i'm making stuff up because i'm not. i'm sure i remember zoggy playing well for us for a few games in centre mid a few seasons back. of course i might be wrong, my memory isn't the best. but i'm not deliberately making things up - what would i gain by doing that? alex, you're a funny bloke but i find you a little strange. you seem to take a perverse pleasure in striking up petty arguments. plus you rated alan smith so i win I think you were trying to show you had some knowledge rather than just posting with a rain cloud over your head moaning about x,y or z. You failed though because the run of games never took place. No one's memory is as bad as that man unless they've got a genuine problem in that area. Which tbf, you can't have or you wouldn't be able to remember posts I made about Smith. Nice try though with the 'my memory isn't the best' thing. I asked you to name one little detail about the said games man, not a detailed analysis on every performance. how do you equate me saying i thought zoggy looked good in the middle to moaning or posting with a rain cloud over my head? like i said, i can't remember exactly when this run of games was or the exact detail (please forgive me) - though i do seem to remember it being either the tailend of a season either under roeder or souness when we rallied at the end of the year, had a few inuries and played a new system with three in the middle - zoggy being one of them and iirc emre and one other alongside him with duff and milner out wide. if you don't want to believe me, fair dos. just seems a strange thing to try and pick a fight with me over on a totally unrelated thread. and hey look, i might be wrong. maybe we can put this to the rest of the board to see if anyone else can remember it or if it's a total mistake on my part. maybe it was one game... i remember (perhaps wrongly) it was a little run of games. but even if i am wrong, i'm not trying to make things up. i find the fact that you think otherwise a little troubling. and nice try on seeing how many times you can include nice try in one of your posts. i might try that myself more often. I brought it up because you brought Smith up. Unrelated to the thread. You brought that up because I had a dig to be fair. I've posted that team up to show how you get things wrong as well. that is a woeful selection tbf, i'm not denying that. although speaks volumes for the players in our squad...especially the fact that barton probably plays when everyone is fit

  8. seen a few recently no country for old men - i thought it was classic. nice to see the cohens go back to the dark side. they do it as well as they do comedy there will be blood - it was an enjoyable performance from day lewis but i was expecting something more gripping after all the hype. could have had half an hour shaved offf the length or me the dark knight - loved it. belting performance from heath ledger. the only thing that annoyed me about the film was the totally gay voice christian bale put on everytime he donned the batman suit.
  9. and the last word goes to: smith
  10. You only made two points there but they're both bollocks. The run of games never happened - you said it was on the left of a middle three originally by the way. And I no longer rate Smith although before he came I thought he was a canny player. Nice try though. you rated smith, so you lose Keegan rates Smith btw. Ok, you should be able to remember a few details. Who were the opponents? Where did you watch these games? What impressed you about N’Zogbia in these performances? Who was the manager? Who was he playing in midfield alongside? Etc. etc. I wouldn’t expect you to know all these things but the odd thing like that would convince me a bit. Given it couldn’t have happened that long ago. Unless you made it up. keegan rating smith is a concern to me - it should be to you too if you care about the club. the kid is absolute garbage. to be absolutely frank mate, i couldn't really give a monkeys whether you think i'm making it up. and like i said in the other thread, i can't remember those details - i'm pretty sure it was at the tail end of a recent season - under either roeder or souness (the season before one or the other of them got sacked)... i seem to remember us going on a nice little run which led us to midtable safety with zoggy playing well in centre mid. iirc as part of a midfield 3. you know i live in london and don't have a season ticket. i watch the matches on sky, the internet the odd home game when i'm back up north and away games in london when i can. i'm not trying to convince you of otherwise or that i'm an uber-soopa-fan but i do try and keep on top of what's going on and i'm not making stuff up to some random bloke on a message board - why would i? oh yeah - and nice one for hitting me where it hurts: my knowledge of the under 21s. you on the other hand admitted yourself that you rated smith when he arrived. i'll leave it there
  11. fucking setanta man. i totally resent having to subscribe to yet another station to see all the games when i already pay those fuckers at sky over 50 squid a month. bring back pay per view i say
  12. i'd take a couple of players as bad as that in the newcastle side. is this on telly? can't find the bastard anywhere
  13. You only made two points there but they're both bollocks. The run of games never happened - you said it was on the left of a middle three originally by the way. And I no longer rate Smith although before he came I thought he was a canny player. Nice try though. you rated smith, so you lose
  14. ps: i do rememeber seeing zoggy playing well iwhen he had a run of games in the centre of midfield. i'm not backing down from that - i just can't remember which season it was. there's no pretence on my part. but you do rate alan smith therefore nothing you say can be taken serioulsy
  15. He's not. eh? how's he playing for the under 21s then? Strange Dan, as you normally seem so well informed. two words: alan smith Is that all you've got? it's my default argument for you. never fails I can link you to a thread where it did if you like. The one where you were pretending you'd seen N'Zogbia playing well on the left of a midfield 3 towards the end of a season that never happened. Clueless. whatever. you rate alan smith therefore you fail
  16. He's not. eh? how's he playing for the under 21s then? Strange Dan, as you normally seem so well informed. two words: alan smith Is that all you've got? it's my default argument for you. never fails

  18. what a strange rule. call me a bluff old traditionalist but i'd expect those players that represent their country at under 21 level, to be under 21...
  19. He's not. eh? how's he playing for the under 21s then?
  20. hard to believe the lad is still under 21 like.
  21. tevez to the toon has got to be up there with leighton baines due to sign by friday. not in a million years stevie lad
  22. we've already released him haven't we?
  23. i don't care what we pay him. he's our best striker by a mile so get him signed
