i'd like to see any cull at the club starting with the chairman and manager

half a bottle of jim beam usually does the trick for me

we should have made him him our skipper instead of parker tbh; then roeder might have the bottle to drop parker occasionally

JOY TO THE WORLD

it's the fact that you have suggested that ne5 and leazesmag are different people that is disturbing, not that you use different names on different boards...
-
what a monumental waste of money. nice one shepherd

conceding that penalty means the tie is still alive but they have to come at us. if we can keep a clean sheet until ahalf time, i fancy our chances of picking them off on the break - their defence looked even worse than ours at times.
-
i think we're only michael owen away from being able to field our strongest side. it's debatable as to whether babayaro would start ahead of carr or taylor at left back. goes to show that left back is probably our weakest position now. i would have said right back too earlier in the season before nobby made the position his own.

i don't think there's a lot of pessimism...more like realism. this is newcastle utd don't forget.

Newcastle United Vs AZ Alkmaar Official match thread
Dr Gloom replied to Jimbo's topic in Newcastle Forum
i think that was one of our best attacking performances of the season. the way we moved the ball around was reminiscent of a four or five years ago at times. butt was immense, dyer, martins and duff were all lively. le sib showed some nice touches, won loads in the air and held the ball up well - bit of a shearer-esque performance tbh. solano should now always be first choice right back and even carr had a steady game at left back. the only weak link for me was parker. can't fault his effort but his first touch was heavy and he failed to hit the target with his two efforts on goal. if he's playing alongside butt in the middle i think he needs to support the strikers more often and improve his finishing. -
i can see them getting an away goal tonight and then finishing us off in holand.
-
carr an option at left back. oh, great.
-
i would have liked to see barca win, just so we didn't have to listen to clive tyldsley bleat on one more time about liverpool's special relationship with the european cup and "that night" in instanbul. change the record ffs

how times have changed, eh? the club should srop prices to a tenner a pop tomorrow. a stadium full of 50,000 charvers would make a hell of a racket.
-
this is what people are reduced to when they get into a 'debate' with leazesmag. i've seen it happen to more than a few decent posters.

i'm not usually a pedant on such matters but that's a shocking use of the apostrophe

worst city/town to have a night out in (uk)
Dr Gloom replied to bobbyshinton's topic in General Chat
sheffield is a very good night out tbh Half of the places mentioned so far are a good night out. A night is what you make of it. My worst night out was in London, mainly because none of us knew the right places to go to. Wouldn't class it as the worst place for a night out though. most bars in the west end - where most tourists end up - are pretty awful. -

i'm certainly not going to make any predictions as far as england are concerned after my ashes tip. aussies to win -
howay ally...absynthe is fucking rank. bourbon and single malt scotch are the only spirits i can enjoy straight...shooters are a different matter though, obviously. food wise, i've never tried sweetbreads. never fancied it much either tbh. the idea of eating any offal is pretty disgusting.

worst city/town to have a night out in (uk)
Dr Gloom replied to bobbyshinton's topic in General Chat
Yeh I really like the nightlife in Sheffield. As you say it caters for all needs. Load of my mates went to Hed Kandi on Saturday at Crasher, not my thing but they all had a great time on their pills ( ) I find as a student though if you go out in town on a Friday or Saturday the locals aren't as welcoming as other cities. Were you a student quite recently or a while back Dan? seems like yesterday but it's coming up for ten years ago. gatecrasher was just kicking off at the time but i was more interested in nights at the music factory, the unit and the arches. the leadmill is a great live band venue plus we had a really nice selection of locals around hunters bar and eccelsal road. quality independent cinema too....the showroom iirc. the years fly by once you start work. student days were the best time ever - you can make good money working but you'll never have that much free time again in your life... -

i went to uni in sheffield. loved the place tbh. great night out whatever you're into. good live band scene, nice mix of clubs and enough bars to keep you happy. not just a student town either. i hooke dup with quite a few locals when i lived there - i loved it. leeds is a good crack too, although not quite as friendly as sheffield. got to add milton keynes to that list btw - what a shithole. oh, and gloucster, staines and canning town. -
not as big a blow as previous seasons given the £30m coming in from the new tv deal. this year is all about staying up and using that money to rebuild in the summer.

Would anyone like to see West Ham stay up
Dr Gloom replied to Kevin Carr's Gloves's topic in Newcastle Forum
he looks every inch a newcastle defender tbh. can you imagine ferdinand and bramble at the back? it would be like bramble and boumsong all over again, tweedle dum and tweedle dee mark II
