  1. The problem for Howe is the owners might not be as patient as the fans. If the away form continues as it is and we miss out on Europe again this season they might decide Howe’s time is up. That’s not to say Howe will lose the fans.
  2. @renton don’t take my word for it. Here’s Reeves admitting as much herself https://news.sky.com/video/chancellor-questioned-by-sky-news-on-breaking-manifesto-promises-in-budget-13475819
  3. they’re terrified of capital flight but there are measures that can be introduced to mitigate that. And if the super rich don’t want pay a fraction more, maybe they should fuck off somewhere else?
  4. A wealth tax, which only targets the super rich, could create significantly higher receipts than freezing income tax thresholds - a stealth tax on rich and poor. You say Polanski is a populist but do you also think a wealth tax is a populist policy? And can you explain why Labour’s move to punish people on lower incomes is preferable? Labour don’t need the Greens to help pave the way for a Reform government. They’re perfectly capable of doing it alone.
  5. the freeze to the personal allowance will take £8bn, rising to £12bn by 2031. polanski's plan for a wealth tax could raise £25bn per year
  6. This is a political choice. There are other more radical things that could be done to keep the bond vigilantes at bay
  7. I’m not complaining about my personal tax burden. I thought a Labour government would protect people on lower incomes and these policies don’t do that
  8. they're getting stiffed by these policies too

  10. the squeezed middle have ben shafted again by the freeze in the income tax personal allowance. so much for not raising taxes on working people. it's exactly what she's done by stealth. she's also added NI to pension contributions. so retirement for a lot of ordinary people is set to get even leaner. are these really labour policies?
  11. i'm afraid i can't take that comment seriously as you never played in goal
  12. how could you not love this face?
  13. rotation only seems to apply to certain players. it feels like he has favourites who he can't bear to leave out
  14. What I don’t get is the completely different mentality away from home. Maybe it’s confidence, maybe it’s Eddie’s tactics but we look a completely different side to the one that plays at SJP. We rarely sit back after taking the lead at home - why do we always invite pressure after doing so away? Yes, there’s mitigation. Last night was far from our strongest side. We’ve been playing Burn and Trippier at full back. Got to hope the way we play away starts to mirror the approach at home once Tino and Hall get up to full fitness.
  15. On his day Gordon is scintillating but those days have diminished in the past 12 months where his red cards outnumber his league goals. He needs a spell out of the side. Agree that Eddie should play players on current form, not historic form. He seeks to apply that logic to certain players but not others, as is the case with Pope and Gordon. And to a lesser extent Burn, where there is mitigation as he has played out of position
  16. He’s looking a terrible buy at £50m at this stage. Still plenty of time for him to turn it around but his confidence looks shot
  17. starting to wonder if we overrated him after one really good season. He did okay last season on spells. But he’s been fucking shit this season
  18. Pope has to be dropped after that. He’s cost us points in our last three away games. Eddie can only be loyal for so long. Ramsdsle deserves a chance. Annoyingly, we looked okay first half but I hate how we drop off after scoring away from home. Why not go for the second goal, as we would do at home? Shit second half and we only got going long after they got their second. We were decent value for a point. This one’s on the goalkeeper. Eddie has to stop playing Gordon up front. It’s almost as bad as burn at left back
  19. The referee had to consider who the opposition was
