  1. i think we can compete for the title while isak is with but it does depend on finishing in the the CL places. We won't be a million miles away from the teams around us if we have a good summer transfer window, boosted by CL money, keep our star players and sign 3-4 new ones who improve the first team.
  2. it would be disappointing to fall at the final hurdle but i'd get over it pretty quickly. this season has been a ride. it's had everything, really: soaring highs - doing the double over Man U and beating Arsenal three times, mixed with some crushing lows, dropping points to teams we really should have beaten, and finally winning a bastard trophy. i'd have snapped your hand off for top 6 and a trophy at the start of the campaign. anyway, i still think we'll do it. chelsea is the big one. if we win on sunday i wouldn't be surprised if we go and win at arsenal again too. if we drop points to chelsea, it really is squeaky bum time for the run in.
  3. agreed but we’re not selling Isak unless he agitates for a move and in that eventuality we get £150m to rebuild this summer with the sort of free spending we haven’t seen since the early days of the takeover. I don’t want to lose Isak either and I expect us to get over the line for CL but either way, the future looks bright
  4. we need six points, I think, to confirm CL with one of the wins coming against Chelsea
  5. i was too young to really remember that side but Terry Mac is al legend. I served him I was working at the Chinese restaurant in Darras hall in the mid 90s. He said he'd give me a good tip if I kept the beers flowing and he was true to his word. I must have served him 6-7 pints over the course of his dinner
  6. I wonder if Eddie has got a tactical rabit lined up for this one - five at the back or something. I quite liked Isak in the number 10 role late in the game against Brighton. Looked way more involved. Not suggesting we start like that but some kind of curve ball to exploit Chelsea’s weakness.
  7. we could afford to draw this but we’d then need to beat arsenal and Everton in our final two. Much better to dispatch these then we probably only need to beat Everton and could afford to drop points at arsenal
  8. Football is about how it makes you feel though. I shed tears of joy when we won the league cup. That never happened when we qualified for the champions league or finished second or third under Keegan. You could argue we were better then over a league season and there were amazing memories and moments but I don’t recall one that made me feel how I did after seeing us finally lift a cup.
  9. A draw here would be agony for the run in but brilliant for the neutrals and broadcasters. But we will win this and beat Everton. The Forest v Chelsea game will be the shoot out for 5th, with us in 4th. Also, I’m going to this one and am on an hot streak of wins, looking to make it a four match heater.
  10. it’s the best of my lifetime whatever happens next. We won a trophy and we’re well placed for champions league football with four games to go. Europa league would also be a triumph given the lack of recent investment. having said that, I still think we’re going to do it.
  11. thoroughly unprofessional from liverpool
  12. fucking twats are on the beach aren't they
  13. I would have taken a point before the game but thought we were the better team and would have won if we’d been a bit more clinical. Pope barely touched the ball all game
