It's hard to believe an imbecile like Charnley managed to get someone of Benitez calibre to come & have a go. This is the same imbecile that handed over the team to Carver. We've gone from Carver to Benitez in 12 months it's really mind blowing. As I said before if he's still here next season then Charnley really has done something clever. What a fantastic coup by the club I'm just a bit worried that he hasn't committed himself 100% to the club (the get out clause was expected). I think I'd have been happier if he'd signed a straight 3 year contract that way if/when relegation comes he would have the chance to completely rebuild the team. I can't help thinking he won't want championship manager on his CV & will probably jump ship if it happens. If it happens (I hope it doesn't) we will end up with another deadbeat has been yes man.
