  1. Carvers the bookies favourite to get the permanent job since Charnleys statement.
  2. A professional club ran by amateurs no wonder we're a laughing stock. Charnley & Ashley are the Laurel & Hardy of football.
  3. "dont see the harm in waiting till summer as long as we get the right person" The thing is we could be a championship side by then its a big gamble to take.
  4. "We dont want a yes man" = we do really.
  5. http://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/newcastle-united-md-lee-charnley-8484848 Apparently this is from tomorrow's paper its an update from Penfold.
  6. Michael Laudrups odds have come right down from 60/1 to 6/1 just saying
  7. I take it you mean Carver ?
  8. If this is a real offer i can't see him playing for us again of course it's typical we need another striker and we'll probably sell one.
  9. They're prepared to offer £8 million.
  10. Can't help think this week in Dubai could have been utilised better with the new manager getting to know the players etc .
  11. Monday afternoon saw Senegal beat Ghana in their opening African Nations fixture but Papiss Cisse was watching from the bench, contemplating a reported £150,000 a week offer from Chinese club, Shanghai SIPG. A late goal from Moussa Sow gave Cisse’s country a win in their first group match but the Newcastle striker had the full 90 minutes to consider his options at club level. Following Swansea interest after the sale of Wilfried Bony and Bafetmbi Gomis saying he may be on the move, The Times have reported that Shanghai SIPG are prepared to offer £8m for Papiss Cisse and pay him that £150,000 weekly wage to tempt him to move to China. The newspaper reports that this would be five times his Newcastle wage. Sven Goran Eriksson is the Chinese club’s manager and if Mike Ashley doesn’t shift Cisse now, he will be left in the summer with a thirty year old striker who has only 12 months left on his contract. Hard to imagine the Newcastle owner knocking back any £5m+ offer if he believes United are all but safe already from relegation. Alan Pardew regularly gave the excuse of worries about Papiss Cisse’s knee operation recovery as the reason for not playing him this season, whether that will hamper any potential medical remains to be seen.
  12. Aye it's time to restart the Ashley out campaign he really is the problem. Garde or whoever comes in might be able to guide the team to avoid relegation this season. With a new manager/headcoach or whatever coming in you would expect the slate wiped clean a fresh start but unfortunately with Ashley it wont be long until it's the same old story. This Newcastle United Football Club is a mere shadow of its former self yes we've been lower in the leagues etc but never has the club been this low.
  13. Newcastle United are facing frustration in their search for a new manager. The Sunday Mirror says chief scout Graham Carr and managing director Lee Charnley - who have the responsibility of finding the new man - are discovering that candidates such as ex-Lyon boss Remi Garde and St Etienne’s Christophe Galtier would prefer to wait until the summer – as would Borussia Moenchengladbach’s Lucien Favre. Garde told them that he would want to bring his whole coaching staff from Lyon with him, and this would not be possible until the summer. The Newcastle power-brokers were happy at this – but 48-year-old former Arsenalmidfielder Garde is still not ready to end the break from football that he promised himself when he left Lyon.
  14. Maybe that was the reward for an early exit from the F.A. Cup.
  15. Nice week in Dubai for Carver & the players now seeing as there's no daft F.A. Cup tie next weekend to worry about.
  16. If we'd had a proper centre forward we'd have won today its pretty pointless having all that possession and crossing the ball in if there's nobody there to knock them in. Whoever gets the gig if it's Carver or A.N. Other with out that elusive striker we're going to be in trouble we can't afford to keep losing at home it's going to be very costly come the end of the season.

  19. Nowt for us today lads i'm afraid Southampton will be pushing on to secure that CL place. 0-4
  20. http://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/john-carver-reveals-clashed-newcastle-8462572 Carver offered the fans out because Krul was dissapointed about the banners been shown before the game. I thought there was a banning of the local press just Carver seems to have plenty to say since Pardew buggered off.
  21. Don't forget he just about owns Oldham Athletic via SD the club shop, ground name, club shirts. It's very strange for him to invest in a mid table league 1 team i wouldn't have thought there's much return for him there.
  22. I'm in favour of anything that speeds up the process of him selling Newcastle United if this is it let him crack on.
