  1. This from The Mail Newcastle United stars Jonjo Shelvey and Karl Darlow were involved in a 3am street fight where a rival was punched and kicked after alopecia-sufferer Shelvey was allegedly called a ‘bald c***’ in a takeaway after a pub crawl, MailOnline can reveal today. The fracas in Morpeth, Northumberland, kicked off when the millionaire midfielder responded by telling his abuser: ‘Go back to your council house, you peasant’. The fight came just ten hours before the squad flew to China for the troubled Premier League club’s pre-season tour, which began with a 4-0 thrashing by Wolves yesterday. In exclusive footage of the bust up, goalkeeper Darlow, wearing a black hoodie, shorts and white trainers, appears to aim a kick at a man who had been shoved to the ground after punches were thrown. Shelvey, who is wearing a white cap and designer ‘slider’ flip-flops, tries force his way into the brawl before being pushed back to the pavement in the early hours of Saturday morning. Newcastle’s highest paid player, who earns £70,000-a-week, had been in a takeaway when he was allegedly verbally abused about his lack of hair. A source told MailOnline: ‘Jonjo Shelvey was in the takeaway when a group of lads called him a “bald c***”. He laughed it off and said, “‘Go back to your council house, you peasant”. But a friend of Karl Darlow has then got protective and weighed in with a punch. It would appear Darlow has also got involved in the fight. Shelvey is now getting some grief from the lads involved, although he was not involved in the actual altercation.’ Shelvey and Darlow, who are currently in China, had been drinking with friends including fellow player Jack Colback in the Black Bull pub. One woman watching the fight from across the road yelps and says ‘that was cheeky’, referring to Darlow as ‘that keeper guy’, after he aims a kick.’
  2. Ashley knows the art of deception. Popular manager leaves announce there's a takeover. Appoint a shite manager on a 3 year contract & the takeover fades into obscurity
  3. Charnley Steve has a deep affection for Newcastle Unitedand we are very pleased that a coach with his vast experience and connections to the club and city has joined us. Steve knows what this club means to supporters and to the region and he will put his heart and soul into leading our talented group of players with the full support of our staff. “The hard work for Steve and his team starts immediately and we will be fully prepared for the challenge of a new Premier League season. “I would place on record my thanks to Ben Dawson, Neil Redfearn and our medical and support staff for the way in which they have worked together to oversee the start of our pre-season preparations.”
  4. This from Sheffield Wednesday "The Club is disappointed to learn via public statement issued by Newcastle United that it has appointed former Sheffield Wednesday staff Steve Bruce, Steve Agnew and Steve Clemence. Regardless of the fact that the staff resigned from their positions with the Club on Monday, there remains outstanding legal issues to be resolved between the club and the staff and Newcastle United. “The Club is currently considering its position and taking the appropriate legal advice. “No further comment will be made by the Club concerning this matter.”

  7. NUFC 360 @NUFC360 · 1h Bruno Genesio will not become #nufc manager. His agent, Pini Zahavi, said he was the preferred choice of Peter Kenyon, who came close to taking over the club. Ashley has taken the club off the market, does not want to sell and will appoint Steve Bruce instead. [L’Equipe] There we go
  8. Once Bruce is announced officially I expect the number to rise. I think there's quite a few fence sitters but when its officially announced I'm expecting the penny to drop with the realisation there's no takeover & a lot more will sack the match off.
  9. By the time Ashley pays the compo & Bruce & his assistants wages it would have been cheaper to keep Rafa.
  10. Based on the above figures we're looking at 38k for the Arsenal game minus any unsold open tickets. Now that WILL send out a message to SKY & the worldwide audience.
