Lad at work is rumoured to be packing a foot long, and he's balding, ginger, about 5"6 and has clown's feet.

The cost of keeping their top scorer. Unless these midfielders we've got really do score lots then we might not have even stood still for what we've spent -

If they're accurate, I was merely quoting the site that he pulled the stats from Where did I say they massively outspend us? -

What have I made up? I said since Ashley bought the club and he linked to a table from the last 5 years. Go onto the same site and do the maths for both clubs, from Ashley's first transfer window. Spaz -

Oh and their net spend in the period that Ashley has owned us is positive, not negative like ours. Less turnover too. -

We only needed to sign all of them because of who we've sold this year If we'd kept Cabaye and Debuchy, then yes I'd rather have bought Lukaku than signed those players. -
They rejected £15m for him iirc

They had him last year though It is a massive sign of ambition though, spending that sort of cash on a player. They had a striker who did well for them on loan and they've paid accordingly. Whereas the rumours of Remy potentially costing us £15m has people saying "no way". Sad really. -
They turned down huge sums for their 28 going on 29 full back though, when they could have sold up like us and bought a younger one for much less.
-
They bought McCarthy last summer as well, another player more expensive than anything Ashley has bought.
-
But they're selling people and upgrading, not downgrading They finished 5th last year. Remember what we spent when we finished 5th?
-
That they're paupers who've been modestly spending for years and years, and now because of the money floating around in the league they can dwarf the record transfer fee of a club the size of ours. That perspective.

Just got back from a round there. 119 today, going in the right direction! Parred consecutive holes as well, including a par 5.

Too high risk for ashley at 24million. But paupers like Everton spending that on a player should put our purchases into perspective. -
Everton spending 24 million There's some perspective for ya!

I meant more for the wage bill than the transfer fees they'd bring in. HBA will be on a decent slice, can see Obertan being on canny money as well. That prick Ferguson probably conned us into it. -
I'm wanting a round today but my new pitching wedge still hasn't arrived. It's been out with the courier since this morning according to the tracking page. Annoying

Riviere aside too, given as it stands he's Remy's replacement and that's almost certainly going to be a step backwards (a very worrying one given the lack of goals in our team last season). I don't think our team is as strong as it was before Cabaye was sold. If we signed those two it'd be a great window, if we signed those 2 and a first team CB it'd be outstanding. For the prices quoted I'd prefer Remy, mind. I think us bringing anyone in now is dependent on us being able to shift some of the 'deadwood'. Not too optimistic about that. -
Was that Moore's horse? I was on the favourite, then observational (11/2 then backed into JF before the off), Toronado. Last leg is Highland Reel in the next race, and as all the others lost I have a massive £1 single going onto it at 11/10. I put it on in the bookies as well so I'd have to collect £2.10 if it won so I hope it loses.

I was using 4-4-2 as an example as to how we don't have 'many options', I'm not saying I want to play it. We can't play any formations that require classic wingers, we can't play any formations that involve a striker thriving on crosses because like you say, we haven't got one (i disagree with your statement that said strikers are particularly 'rare' though). The Gillespie/Cabella thing is a daft thing to say btw. I haven't suggested that I want to trade Cabella for an out-and-out winger, I'm just stating that we haven't got any. We haven't got the players to mix it up like people have said. I'm not against a 4-3-3. It's the arsekissing "oh we've had such a good window, we've got so many options now" crack that I'm opposed to. We haven't,
