  1. Michelle asked me to pass on her thanks to everyone "on the Newcastle site" who has supported them. The bairn is safe and sound x
  2. Surgery over and the little one is in the recovery room, her mam and dad are with her. The surgeon has told them everything has gone really well.
  3. Stop trying to show off in front of the new kids. Honestly!
  4. It's used here and there. Recently been called the 'cath-word' as the regulars know it winds me up and they're respectful However, that's not the case for everyone Just ignore it, there's far worse things to worry about. Like The Fish, for example.. Oh, and that Monkey.
  5. You called? Everyone is more than welcome here. If you act like a twat you'll be treated like one. Generally it's a good place to be I'm not a fan of the c-word unless you're referring to John Terry, in which case go for it
  6. Aye, the lads on here are a good bunch Operation is at 7pm our time. Happy thoughts....
  7. "Erm, why is my face on the internets?"
  8. I really don't know! I do it with everything - even magazines. I've sat here and tried to justify it and it really is just a total habit. Maybe it comes from the fact that the use-by dates are longer on the stuff at the back when it comes to bread/milk/fresh food so I automatically shop from the back....
  9. Yes, but these are all things that blokes completely forget that we need in the house! I'm sure you all think the fairies change toilet rolls and buy toothpaste. I also never buy the product at the front of the display
  10. That really is taking the piss mind.
  11. Pretty much. There's always the potential for the surgical risks which do include permanent paralysis but this surgeon/hospital is the leading centre in the world for this procedure and in something like 2500 operations they've had 3 patients who have had minor complications post-op. There was a young lad from Hartlepool who had it done and was on that Inside Out programme a while ago. http://www.hartlepoolmail.co.uk/lifestyle/health/life-fitness/mitchell_heading_back_to_america_1_4097114
  12. It's not progressive so the disability she has would just continue throughout her life and limit it along the way. Despite being born 3 months early she's had normal mental development but limited motor skills and has had to wear splints to keep her legs straight, she's used walking aids all her life because she can't walk unaided at all and has daily physio.
  13. I've never watched it. I see enough minging stuff at work without watching it for fun.
  14. Well, tomorrow is the day. Ria's surgery involves a neurosurgeon called Dr Park opening her spinal cord, identifying the fibres that are causing the stiffness and spasticity in her limbs and cutting them to alleviate her disability. Whilst Michelle and Paul are scared, apprehensive and emotional about it all, after meeting the doctor yesterday he told them that he's confident Ria will walk, run and play sports unaided. In other words, she will be just like any other 6 year old child and they are entrusting the future of their beautiful daughter into the hands of this amazing man. This little boy will also be having his surgery tomorrow and apparently he and Ria were having races on their frames around the hospital yesterday.. I know many of you don't do prayers, but if you could just keep them all in your thoughts over the next couple of days, I know they massively appreciate all the support.
