    Cars

In case folk like Jimbo were previous owners of second hand cars; imagine all the dried up spunk on the steering wheel. EDIT: just been on to Jan's profile to see if it was a female Jan, or some 'Yan' bloke. I need to know these things So, Jan.....tell me a bit about yourself I am a girl I have a cat named keith, my own house, car (sort of), teeth a full time job and a season ticket for newcastle. Ohhhhhhhh and I hate shopping. I think you might be me EDIT, well, the old me...
  6. Bit personal Bit early to tell, n'est-ce-pas?
  7. I suggest it, but it's your call as a mother. There is some risk either way. I think there are no absolutes with this, just a question of taking time out with your partner and weighing up the pro's and con's. Parky jnr has the minimum. If you are going for full spectrum imm then do it in shots spread out over a period rather than close together. Keep clear of fluoride. It's too late for the likes of us but with a clean slate it's worth doing. Don't regulate play, especially creative play. Yeah, I remember you saying this now. The bairn has had all of his recommended jabs but last year I decided against letting him have the swine flu vaccine. I did a lot of reading but the fact that I felt like it had been rushed through the system and approved almost on the back of the media hype, mixed with a strong gut-feeling against it meant that declined the invitation from the surgery for him to go and get it. Inevitably now that it's all flared up in the media again I'm questioning my decision. He's poorly at the moment and last night peaked with a temp of over 39 degrees, hacking cough etc and I've had a horrible couple of days with him being ill. I've just tried to keep my rational head on and treat him with Calpol and fluids and hope it's enough. It's heart-wrenching to see him suffer and wonder if I could have made a wrong decision somewhere down the line. At the end of the day you can only ever do what you think is best at that time. Sometimes you'll be wrong but usually mostly right. The swine flu thing is a nightmare, especially after that perfectly healthy 3 year old succumbed at Christmas. My understanding is they have to be over six months old but I think I would get my little un done when I can ( subject to a bit more research). I'm also looking to get it myself given the job I do. I don't want to bring it home. Home your little ones better soon but don't rule out the GP's if your not sure. I only say that as iirc your in nursing??? and nurses are terrible for not wanting to "bother" gps. I say that having a mother and four sisters who are nurses! Yeah, I think there is a bit of the nursey thing there where I think "I can deal with this" However, I have had to seriously think rationally about his symptoms and my knowledge about the swine flu etc to decide my treatment of it. I won't take any chances though - if his temp went higher or he started with febrile convulsions then I'd be at the mercy of the NHS in a second (Although I'd maybe take him to the hospital I work at rather than the nearest one to where we live!) As for the swine flu jab - it is no longer being offered to under 5's since the new coalition government came into power, unless they fall into the 'at risk' category.
  8. Thanks Bev. It's hard at the minute cos I've had to deal with 2 babies in the last few weeks at work who have had suspected swine flu and we've had to intubate them and transfer them to PICU. Too close to home at times. However, I think a heavy cold is what we're dealing with at the moment as he's still demanding "weeties!!" and lollies (Aren't ice-lollies great for toddlers with temperatures! Everyone's a winner)
  9. Oh and I don't regulate his play. He was trying to feed his dinner to the cat yesterday and I just let him do that too...

  11. My son is obsessed with Countdown and he's 22 months old so I think I've probably already unlocked some serious potential there. On another note Parky, was it you who advocates not having children immunised? I know there was a debate way back when but I can't quite remember who said what..

    Clones

I always get mixed up with him and the bloke from Outnumbered...
  13. Don't listen to this fucking wanksplash mate, I actually live in Trafford. What part of Manchester have you moved to like? Its actually Salford but it might as well be fucking Manchester as Deansgate is bout 1min walk from my flat. Can see the wheel and the Cathedral from the window (just to give you an idea where I mean). Oh aye, I know where you mean, up near the CIS-it's only Salford cos it's the wrong side of the river but it's slap bang in the city centre to all intents and purposes. There's loads of places in the town centre to watch the footy but I don't watch toon games there out of choice tbh cos theres always an element that drink in the city centre that want to test. Lass O'Gowrie might be a shout mind you as it's a bit more studenty (and a decent pint). Once you're in the suburbs like most pubs have a decent handful of toon fans in wherever. I'd only recommend South Manchester though tbh as North and East Manchester are both shitholes and Salford (West) is just Salford. So a shithole and red. Oh the days of the northwestmags and the Sports Cafe
  14. Can I just clarify that it wasn't me, before Leazes accuses me of treason or something He should really send you some flowers over what happened to be fair. I was going to make a "Pfffffffttttt!!" comment at that, but it just sounds like a wet fart, so I won't

  16. If you view someones profile you can see what date/time they were last active. Plus, if they post and they're not on the users list (and yet still posting) then they must be hidden.
  17. Oh bless him, it must have been awful for you We've had lots of poorly babies at work the last couple of weeks with brochiolitis and fluey stuff. Had to send a few of them over to the RVI to paediatric intensive care cos they needed help with their breathing. Can't imagine what it must be like and I'm really glad he's getting better
  18. She looks like she's wearing comedy plastic Gazza boobs
  19. Aye, cos that's a lush pic of her She looks like a boy!
  20. Brilliant (Him, not her )
  21. Hospital now, you numpty. Especially with chest tightness. Electric shock can send your heart into an irregular rhythm so you need checking out, despite all your protestations.
  22. Harsh doing that to a lass like. Net bullying oh dear. Good job you're so lovely and respectful to us girlies, eh Steve? I am I gave you a sincere apology three times as well, and it was sincere for the crack, I truly was a bit of a wanker regarding the issue, but we're in brighter days now. I think it's about 12 month since I abused anyone on here for any reason apart from that, but I was a disgrace for that. Having said that, it sounds like 9 or 10 people were ganging up on this poor lass and it's easy to see when someone is particularly sensitive. I'm only joking man I accepted your apologies then and still do. For the record, it wasn't 9 or 10 people ganging up on Lou, more like 2 or 3 but she was over-sensitive. Lovely lass but mad as a rainforest full of frogs.
