It's good to hear him working hard, but apart from his first few games he was poor to the point where I dreaded him coming off the bench. His positional play is shocking but hopefully Rafa can improve on that I certainly wouldn't play him as a holding midfielder though only in an advanced role

I'm a little bit embarrassed at the meltdown but at the same time the mags can fuck off; I'm still laughing at them winning relegation and fawning over a manager who couldn't beat any of the other three sides he was in a relegation battle with and who sent them into the championship. Shearer and Benitez both did it and they love them both, they'll probably build a statue when someone takes the daft twats into league one' So I just saw this on RTG, the irony of the last line

They'll interview other people Kilinsman etc as it's protocol surely, but fat Sam will get the job

Moussa Sissoko signs for Spurs for like £30m or WatEVA
gpirlo68 replied to Park Life's topic in Newcastle Forum
Quote from his agent: We do not understand. It was agreed that Moussa stayed one more season at Newcastle to help the team. He did the best he could. The club has always said Moussa could leave for between 18m (£15.2m)and 25m (£21.1m) maximum. We hope that Rafael Benitez and the president will be more reasonable about Moussas future. He has always been loyal, he has always respected the club, the fans. There are clubs who came to us and the club [Newcastle]. We are fully aware of their approaches. We want everything to go well- 1745 replies

'Is he any good, we continue to sign players i dont know much about. Obviously aware of Gale and Ritchie, but no real knowledge of Hayden?' 'Has the potential to become a very good player and with you giving him a 5yr deal your manager appear to think the same, all the best for the coming season.' 'At Championship level he will do a good job for you. And he's young, so will have a decent sell on price.' He didn't get as much game time for us as he should have done, he's a tidy player. For the people who can't be bothered to open the link

Last season on loan to Hull was basically his first professional season and he played defensive midfield so I presume that's his natural position. He's capable at playing at centre back and full back which is useful

Newcastle United have completed the signing of Arsenal defender Isaac Hayden. The 21-year-old, who can also play in midfield, has agreed a five-year deal at St. James' Park and has joined up with Magpies' on their training camp in Ireland. Hayden came up through the ranks at Arsenal before making his debut in September 2013 in a League Cup tie against West Bromwich Albion. The England Under-20 international spent last season on loan at Hull City, making 24 appearances as the Tigers won promotion from the Championship via the play-offs. "Newcastle is a massive football club and to be given the opportunity to come here and progress my career is fantastic," said Hayden. "Being at Arsenal was a great experience, I learnt a lot there and have a lot to thank them for, but I needed to move on and so when Newcastle came in for me I jumped at the chance. "I am still young but I want to get as many games under my belt as I can and help the team bounce back to the Premier League." Newcastle United manager Rafa Benitez added: "We continue with our plan to bring in players who are hungry to succeed and prove themselves, which Isaac really is. "He is also a player who can play in different positions, which is very useful. "Isaac is a young, strong English player with fantastic potential but also with some experience already of the Championship. We welcome him to the Club."

'Know a few Newcastle fans and I believe they only have one recognised centre back in Lascelles. Coloccini and Taylor have left so they just need numbers. If they have ambitions of calling themselves a premier league club then Hanley is just a body for short term. Newcastle, the city and nightlife, will ruin him. He's always in the emporium apparently so goodness knows what the bigg market will do to him. He'll spend as much time in jesmond on Osborne road as the training ground. Most bars have happy "hour" machines that range from free drinks, drinks for a £1, half price, 2 4 1, or full price. I'd wager he'll semi pro on those.'
