Where did the fifteen hundred quid figure come from? He should ask them to clarify what damages/losses they've incurred as a result of his misuse and where they get the 1500 amount from.

You can't eat the orange and throw the peel away. A forum is not a piece of fruit.

Aye, that was awesome Scored a few corkers against us. Great goal against Blackburn from a mile out too at Ewood I think. I loved that one he scored, against Wimbledon I think, were from the free-kick he just flicked it up and volleyed it in. Great goal and the one against Blackburn was fucking amazing Bawan knows his shit tbh. The Blackburn goal has yet to be bettered imho. It was mid-run, completely deliberate, utterly unthinkable (it would not have even occured to any other player that it was within the realms of possibility) and the goalkeeper is Tim Flowers who is a big bastard and is practically on his line when he hits it. This and it's all of a million yards out so it's both a lob and a laces drive at the same time, it swerves in the air and hits the target at vitually the onlyspot that could result in a goal. Oh and just to repeat, it was completely deliberate-he had no time to think about it as he was being tracked-but somehow he still thought about it and I'm willing to bet that it's trajectory was absolutely identical to how Le Tis saw it in his head the all important second before it left his boot. The beauty is you know it was deliberate too because of the type of goals he scored. Anyone else and you couldnt be criticised for saying 'hit and hope-got lucky/caught it sweetly' etc. None of that shit, this was of scene-for-scene identical beauty to how foresaw it in his less than beautiful head. I'm passionate about this goal. All of the above sets it apart from any other spectacular split second strike from range/volley etc etc.

There is a difference between industry backed and funded professional qualifications, and nationaly equivalent publicly monitored and assessed qualifications. The McDiploma is an abortion of both, a complete fudge. Mate the world weary middle classes are just pretending they care, let them have their moment. No doubt some don't and some do. Who gives a fuck about (our?) motives though if the result is that people are allowed to improve their lives in ways that were previously not open to them? What next the McDegree, the KFCphd..? Fat friers of the world unite! Good solid apprenticeships that cost real money at real companies that give skill and knowledge training with a day release formal educational component is what is needed. If they wanted to help (which they don't unless it costs peanuts) is what they would reinstate across the land. I'm not disputing that and have no idea why you think I would. In the here and now though, if industry wants to recognise the graft and discipline that comes with managing eg retail outlets/fast food restaurants then I have absolutely no problem with that at all.

At no stage have I even pretending to give a shit about this btw At what stage did you class yourself as middle class like? Worse than the Fish.

The OP called it madness too. The OP and Rico I think. Fish's views can be dismissed out of hand as he's basically an unreconstructed, Pimms drinking, Plantagenet throwback.

Shut it Watson or I will gut you like a Fillet O' Fish, so help me God.

Shut the fuck up and get on a treadmill.

Aye, when we were old enough my dad went and bought a shit load of subbuteo and a huge piece of quality ply which he then carefully spent what seemed like two days glueing down. Our subbuteo pitch was like Wembley, and all the kids round ours wanted to come round and play it. Unfortunately, the old man took it very seriously and played 'winner stays on', skittling dozens of 7 year olds with no mercy and ott goal celebrations. Good. I plan to do exactly the same myself one day. When he was in the middle of trouncing me, my old man always used to go on about how in his day the subbuteo players were made out of cardboard (not the bases obviously, the figure part). As a 10 year old I thought he was mentally ill but it's actually true.

Quality Google Lego font today. PS re Subbuteo I built an entire stadium as a kid. Spent nearly all my spends on it. It was the fucking shizznit.

Soapbox beautifully mounted. Happens to be my honest opinion. I do a job which is 95% populated by people who are completely up their own backsides and have the sort of elitest opinions that make me utterly ashamed to be part of the profession. Too many people written off cos they didnt get GCSE's, for society to feel entitled to look down on them for the rest of their lives. If some young 'un wants to graft their bollocks off in McDonald's instead of following their mates and smashing up bus stops then I want it recognised as much as any law degree etc. Old labour? I want to agree with you but something smells rotten about this...... I'm a socialist if thats what you're getting at but I'm not some Old Labour dinosaur. I just happen to think this is a step in the right direction re attitudes towards education and qualifications. The rotten smell was probably just a whiff of the McDonald's apron.

Good idea this, just a shame that it's McDonald's signed up to the pilot scheme given that the qualification will inevitably have to compete with the additional stigma of the 'McJob' label. Think their participation at the outset is probably counter productive. Time to stop being so fucking elitest about qualifications and writing people off just because they're not particularly academic at the arbitrary age of 16 or whatever. Ivory towers and all that.
