  1. As we get better I think we can expect to see a lot more of this approach from other teams. I guess it's a good learning experience for the team that Eddie can latch onto and use against Arsenal next game. Hopefully in windows to come when we strengthen we will have players who can cope with other teams being dirty beggars
  2. Well that was as frustrating as the Palace game. Nice to see Leeds can do an Atletico at the end and barely 2 mins added on. Mind you I don't think we would have scored today no matter what
  3. Aye Eddie has said Isak has told him he wants to roll wor sleeves up. It's all downhill from here lads!
  4. Heard he is going to be playing for Al Aboutthemoney
  5. Wor Ronny has a family to feed you know!
  6. Any recommendations for current IPTV providers? Smut free preferably! Just got us a Fire Stick so hopefully nothing too taxking
  7. I don't think we need massive incomings in Jan. Hopefully we could clear some deadwood. I would be happy with some decent cover coming in Jan for Trippier incase he gets injured. That Harrison Ashby from West Ham sounds ideal and well rated but probably take him a while to get up to speed again as his head seemed to have dropped when he didn't get the move in the summer. Obviously central midfield is a bit light for cover at the min. I think there is a decent chance of getting Tielemans. His head did drop when he didn't get his move so if we make an offer would Rogers rather have some money to spend on a replacement or a senior player with his head down for the rest of the season and then likely leave for nowt? I wasn't overly impressed with him when I've seen him but then again see Joe and Miggy under the cabbage and how they are under Eddie. I think we can make it through the rest of the season with the other areas having decent cover. Despite his limitations I think Wood does a good job and gives 100% for the team, especially the high press. With Isak coming back I think we should be grand. I'm not expecting anything massive changes. Hopefully we can keep in the European spots come the end of the season and then have a big selling point to a higher calibre of players in the summer.
  8. After match day 16 last year we had won 1 game and drew 7 with a GD I won't even mention... 1 year later it's won 9 and drew 6 with the 1 loss being a robbery. Mad
  9. This team selection and performance could be a subtle nod to the board from Eddie about the depth of the squad pushing for top 4 and it's the transfer window soon!
  10. To be fair I can see them not liking Eddie since he was a very successful manager of Bournemouth. Bit like us not wanting to have a cult hero ex Mackem manager take over here, not that the calibre of their managers was ever that high
  11. Hi folks. We are about to join civilization and get a Smart TV so was looking into what providers you would recommend to maximise the chances of seeing our matches but not having to fork out a fortune for Sky etc. Currently have Amazon Prime but not a huge amount of footy on it. Not really interested in watching non Newcastle matches! I'm based in Ireland so I don't get over very often to attend live matches
  12. It was a foregone conclusion Emery would go to Villa having managed VILLAreal and SeVILLA. Villa-Bingo
  13. Stumbled across this article from the summer about Miggy and lack of goals Turns out Darren Eales knows his onions! https://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/darren-eales-gareth-bale-comparison-24507717
  14. Did Bruno name the bairn after Dominic Matteo I wonder?
  15. Watching on Amazon Prime. When did Andy Townsend become a lifelong Scouse Mackem fan?
  16. On a non serious note, Kier Starmers football knowledge isn't too hot... Had a chuckle listening to 5Live on the way to work and the presenter asked him if he would have Saka in the team and said yes absolutely. When asked who his first choice was for up front he was like erm umm err... Kane? The presenter asked, throwing him a lifeline. Oh yes absolutely! He replied with relief So Kane and Saka up front then? The presenter asked. Kier replied... Well it goes without saying doesn't it. Waffle waffle 😂
  17. Looks like the Queen had brought some flowers to lay down in remembrance at the site where quality football died!
  18. Since we both got screwed over by VAR last weekend whose gonna get done by it this time? 😉 Prediction, 1-0 to West Ham, scoring in the 99th minute after 3 min of stoppage time, with VAR overturning a clear Paqueta dive into a pen and sending Botman off. Afterwards, Eddie finally loses his cool and clotheslines the ref on the way down the tunnel. 🥳
  19. I can't really blame the ref for the VAR incident at the weekend. The clip he was shown wasn't very long and didn't show the shove very well and from what I remember it was shown at a poor angle with no other angles worth talking about. It then begs the question why Lee Mason showed it from that particular angle and duration.
  20. Well that was a frustrating watch, did everything but score. Will be great when we are back to full strength!
  21. Always liked Fede he was a good servant for us. Hope the move works out for him!
