Difference is City have been able to build on a good centre back pairing in the very solid Richard Dunne and excellent young Micah Richards (although the way knee's have been jerking recently I am sure he is now seen as average ) Our back line has changed quite a bit through injury and not wanting to chuck young/foreign players in too early (something many moaned that past managers did too much). Also not claiming he is any sort of Messiah but we have missed Barton who imo is our best central midfielder (in the final third at the very least). Can't claim to have seen City every game this season but they seem to have quite a solid/set first 11 and their best attacking players (Elano, Petrov) have been fit and playing. Allardyce definitely has to take a fair bit of the blame for the season so far but there are other issues which make it a little unfair to look at things just in black and white.
