We could and have done alot worse Who would you suggest? He is injury prone and really quite average. Well I would love Leighton Baines if we go for a left back. Curtis Davies for a centre back but im not sure we could get him for £7m. Bridge if we could persuade Chelsea. Would take Distin over Upson aswell.

Two. Blatant racism really. I call Jihad!
-
If we signed Upson then we would be pissing the money away, especially for £7m!

Drove into the back of a white van I think.

I love reactions to articles like this

So what do we do then?
-
So we shouldn't sign players anymore because its not worth it?
-
Perhaps we wouldn't have pressured him to make such a quick return like Madrid did thus causing him to breakdown time after time. Im sure we would. Its not like he was injury free before he came to us anyway he has always been and im pretty sure always will be injury prone.

If we kept Woodgate it wouldnt have made ANY difference, apart from if we tried to sell him further on down the line we would have more than likely got a hell of a lot less for him! By your theory we shouldn't get rid of Duff but also shouldn't try and sign anyone else because we always sign shit players! I like it

I know what you mean about having a limited squad. I would like to see him stay and play well, but tbh I had forgotten about him until the other day when the BBC showed a side with the crocks missing. If we can get £7m for him, IMO we should get rid and put the money to use in much needed areas. and what exactly are those areas? positions where in the past we had perfectly fucking adequate players until they were sold for a bastard pittance seriously? no one sees a link between this revolving door policy and our shit squad profile? Left back, Right back and Centre backs Havent you seen our defence recently? "Fucking adequate players?" Like whom in our defence has been adequate since Woody? Would even argue Woodgate wasn't adequate, more than enough quality but we couldn't afford to keep a defender who played so little. Aye but when he did play he was more than adequate, I for one was with FFS on the selling of him at the pricee when it came in because of his horendous (sp) injuries so now he's playing in the Premiership and we have Ramage would he even have reached the end of his contract with us by now? So we should have kept him here injured for all that time when we had the chance to get our money back and let someone else take the risk? risk? his replacements were Boumshit and Moore Aye risk, you know wages and him possibly never playing again or rarely playing?

Hmmm you on drugs mate? the only way it could affect him if he was a big fucking girls blouse, a la Luque any decent footballer can and should be able to hande competition for their place I'm more worried about the prospect of having Zog as our only left winger Apart from Milner and O'Brien, you mean? milner's a right winger o'brien is just another prospect, who given a couple of shit games will be being hounded out the door aswell Milner can play either tbh.

Liked all but one of the films he has done.

Did you used to beat her?

Although he probably would

Rennie would have been running around the pitch booking all the boards.

Why sell Duff yet? He hasn't had the chance to prove himself at the club yet When he first come to the club I thought he looked lively and a good signing, since then and before the injury he went off the boil, but he has been asked to play left back, in the middle so what do people expect? When he was in a bad run so was every other NUFC player, stick him on the left and give him a run of games, he won't do much worse that o'brien, pattison etc... Because when we were linked with him I thought we were going for a player close to the end of our long list of priorities and if we can get someone now who is at the front it would make sense. Do we not need a left sided player though? I think we do imo I totally agree that signing a left back is a number one priority, but selling Duff to spurs would be a mistake imo, what sort of message does it send? We need as many players as possible, selling Duff would just further weaken us. We need to keep the likes of Duff, Charlie, Milner at the club as these are the players who can make things happen. Fat Fred and friends need to put their hands in thier pocket and make funds available for players. If getting rid of Duff could get us a quality left back that we couldn't afford if we kept him then its worth it. Not really bothered what message it sends out, what message exactly is it though? We are willing to make a quick profit on a player to strenghten a weaker part of our squad? OH NO!!!

I just wanted to use that picture

Would take £7m for Duff and offer it all for Baines!

Problem is clearly we don't have the attackers to stop us conceeding goals.
