Obertan looked a lot better yesterday than he has so far. But he's been fucking rank so he he couldn't have got much worse. He still doesn't look like much of a threat to me and I think if Marveau gets in it'll be obertan who will be on the bench. Marveaux is still a bit of an unknown property, playing in the League Cup against Forest doesn't really change that (as far as Pardew is concerned anyway). I think he'll plan to play 4-4-1-1 with Ben Arfa in behind the striker. I think that gives him licence to play where he wants but keeps us quite solid. The midfield'll be Jonas-Tiote-Cabaye-Obertan with Cabaye playing the further forward of the midfield two. I'm not convinced any of the strikers we have can play as a loan target man but, then again, they don't look great as a two either. I agree, that's what pardoo wants. I'm trying to shoehorn Marveux in. If Marveux is any good at all....and he looks like like he may be....then obertan won't hold down a place as he doesn't do enough of anything.

Sounds like we huffed and puffed far, far more than we should've against a limited Forest side.
