  1. From the Beeb: Just reading that, the fact that Martinez and Whelan have defended this little scrote to the hilt and even made out he was a victim makes them deserve relegation more than the mackems - they're a rugby club town, shouldn't be allowed near football at all, they've shown nothing but a complete lack of class since the whole thing happened. At least we get some entertainment from playing Sunderland!
  2. To some degree I feel like we're getting a bit arrogant when dealing with Sunderland, something that 'if' they ever did manage a result against would be like an open-top bus parade for them. However, logic and form point to us winning this again, regardless of Di Canio's ramblings - I've said before that I like the guy as a character, but that's all he is so far, he's shown nothing that instantly makes him a top manager, hell he had to use his own money to get anywhere with Swindon... * For the record though, I'm always nervous before derby matches, just because you know how much the unwashed masses would get carried away with it if the got anything - whereas if we win it's more important to us as just another three points away from the relegation fight.
  3. Meanwhile, 28 pages and several days later... not that I'd say there was any obsessiveness with this topic but if it was the Mackems talking about us you'd be taking the piss something rotten. For someone so hated people sure love talking about her.
  4. For what it's worth I think Pards got it spot on, apart from Shola coming on. Think I might have tried Cambell, if we'd been more attacking earlier on though they'd have nicked a couple more goals on the break. Player-wise I find Cissé our most frustrating player with the amount of offsides he has.
  5. Two mistakes in the first leg let us down, Benfica were beatable but we helped them through. They're a good team but certainly not better than us - if more English teams learnt to waste time, play the ref, cheat and generally whinge more I reckon more English teams would get further in the European competitions. However, I prefer our football to continental or South American because in my eyes diving and waving imaginary cards at refs should never be part of the game, it's not clever or an art, it's bloody cheating. ... getting back on to our game with Benfica mind, I was pessimistic before the match, pleasantly surprised during the match until the last 5-10 minutes then expectedly disappointed with the overall loss. The main thing now is we gub the mackems at the weekend, if we don't I can see the rest of the season being a real downer.
  6. All I'm saying is there may be a small hint of bias, nothing else. Besides, there's much more entertainment to be had from drawing eyebrows on dogs apparently.
  7. Not being funny CT but you waste your breath talking to the majority on here of this particular subject, they're a 'tad' blinkered. I'm sure I'll get abuse for saying that much but they have their beliefs and we have ours, I think it probably best sticking to footy in this instance.
  8. He's certainly shown he can cope in the prem and seems to be scoring evening within a shit team... however, I'd rather we cut off our noses to spite our face in this case because of how things went down in January.
  9. On the other hand we can look at it that the chances of having European footy next season have pretty much all but disappeared so in the long run we might have a better chance of winning something domestic and finishing higher up the league due to not having as many games... of course there's always the downside to that in the possibility of some of our decent players wanting European footy and going elsewhere. At the end of the day we can still blame Ashley and Llambias for this season's fuck-ups for not strengthening when we had the chance to build on things. Hey ho.
  10. Taylor annoys me, you just think he's maturing at long last then he does something stupid. He thinks he's better than he is, shouts at the rest of the team and blames everyone else when he fucks up and is dangerously exposed of his faults when he's not played next to an established, long term central defender.
  11. Maybe, maybe not. I suppose we did gift them two of their goals, though at the same time we were very unlucky for both of Cissé's post shots. Benfica certainly didn't win it on their own merits though. Jorge Jesus' hair upset me the most this evening.
  12. Shit luck and shit linesmen, not to mention a lack of punishment for ample diving. That said, we've not been great but we really did deserve a draw from this. Fucking cunty bollock wank.
  13. Jesus Christ on a bike, how big a bunch of fannies are these diving cunts? "Oh noes, the nasty opponent player brushed my chest with his hand, I must roll on the floor like I've been clobbered by a CT breakfast bap!"
  14. When did Grace Jones cut her hair and start playing central defence for us?
  15. I wish John Carver would sneak up behind the Benfica manager and set light to the fucker's hair, he's doing my pip.
  16. Taylor might as well have gone down like he'd been sniped - was a fucking ridiculous deliberate handball. I don't know what's worse, Santon's shit backpass or Taylor's stupid antics. We didn't deserve this result, a draw at worst should have been what we'd gone back home with. Absolute joke.
  17. Fuck me these bloody foreigners don't half dive at the slightest hint of a touch, whether contact gets made or not. I hate that.
  18. I'm not enjoying our lot starting off both halves well then reverting to hoofball tactics after 10-15 minutes.
  19. One thing nobody could ever say is we're even a slightly lucky team, in fact I'd have to say when it comes to getting the rub of the green but we never get it, ever!
  20. The way things are at the moment I see all our games as a battle - I couldn't say there were any definite points there to be banked on. In short I'm a tad nervous about our chances, to be expected though I guess.
