  1. Oh and Tino right now is a massive concern. I know he has rough edges still but he's instrumental to so much of what we do, a major outlet with his ball carrying and he's always in and around the play looking to link things up. No wonder things fell apart when he went off. A bit of luck with his injury for once would be welcome. Shades of 2 years ago with our luck with injuries thus far.
  2. I hope Howe abandons this back 5 or whatever it is now. It just doesn't work. Burn on the left worked for a season but has been a nightmare since then. He's got to figure out the midfield, completely agree with other views on Gordon. Murphy thankfully can still provide a killer pass but his overall play continues to underwhelm for long periods. Barnes is a one trick pony, Elanga hasn't looked settled yet. Joe is also a concern, he hasn't seemed his usual self for a while now. I wonder if the injuries have had a permanent effect. Thank goodness for Tonali who does about 3 roles in there because the rest have been bang average for months now. Tons to sort out. We might just also need a bit of luck and a couple of results to get everyone's confidence up. The good thing is we've been in these rought spots in the past and Howe has always worked it out. Wissa and Ramsey's injuries have obviously been major blows too.
  3. Why do people keep bringing up Dubravka ffs. He deputized for the injured Pope didnt he a couple of years ago and he was absolute dog shit, couldn't save anything thrown straight at him and we dropped a ton of points as a result of it. He does look good on his day and of course he's had some good games for us but that run eroded any confidence I had in him and probably Howe's too. I'm on the Ramsdale bandwagon. I don't know if he's as good as shot stopper as Pope but I doubt the differential would be anywhere near that of their ability with feet. Give him a chance.
  4. We'll lead the game for 85 minutes only to concede two stoppeage time hattricks 1-6 to them
  5. Agreed on Pope. No doubt he kept us in the game first half but he's a shambles with his feet and that needs to change at some point.
  6. I'm honestly so used to the referring shite now it feels almost normal as infuriating as it is. If anything watch the pundits talk about Arsenal's overturned penalty.
  7. Thiaw looked outstanding again tonight, shame it was for nothing in the end but very promising for the future.
  8. Felt to me like we did. Our threat in the last 30 minutes was just lumping it up and hoping Elanga or Osula chase it down. We barely created anything first half either. Fine margins and all. Could have easily gotten a point off both Liverpool and Arsenal. As it is we just look like a disjointed side right now. Creative spark is seriously lacking
  9. Twice we've put out 5 defenders and shut up shop to try and hold on at home this season and twice conceded last minute goals. Not sure how well that tactic is working. Another gutting loss to take. It's now a bad start to the season. Have to get up and dust off somehow. Hope Tino is not in too bad a shape somehow.
  10. Commentator finally calling out Arteta for his reactions on the sideline
  11. Excellent goal from us. Woltemade looks class overall. On the whole we've got Pope to thank so far though. Burn on the left is very iffy, we have more control since the goal though.
  12. That was my first thought but I thought the replay showed Murphy
  13. Hall not even in the squad? Not another injury hopefully Interesting to see how we look in this formation against a good side. Very much an evolving team here
  14. Elanga and Gordon have both looked a bit rusty, hopefully the minutes have done them some good. Wolte and Barnes on.
  15. Great time to bring on Lascelles to be fair
  16. Only reason I'd give Lascelles some time is because of the 3 upcoming games in 7 days. Burn does need a rest and Schar is concussed. Botman needs to be managed very carefully given his injury problems. So it's more caution that disrespect to the opposition. I suppose if Burn feels okay Howe might start him and take him off after 45-60 minutes if we're doing ok. We'll find out soon enough.
