I think waiting until the summer makes sense for all parties tbh, he still has two years left at that point so we retain a level of control, unless he pulls a rat, which is unlikely I would think. Also Pep’s away end of next season (in 27) who can say what things look like next summer, will help massively if we’re back in CL obviously. That said, I’d love to keep him long term but whilst his defensive work is excellent his attacking delivery isn’t great (was better when he was on the left strangely) and his peak is yet to come.
