As I said it’s simply a matter of typing efficiency (laziness) for me with zero premeditated thought behind it, I just do, if I was writing (a dying art) I’d write Man City and I say Man City when/if speaking of them.

Always Man City to me BUT when typing I’ll just use City - everyone would know who I mean, given they’re the only currently relevant one, in conversation I’d use/say Man City. For Man Utd I usually use “red manc cunts” never the U word.

But it's the rule, stupid or not, all else is utterly irrelevant.

I was worried during the game at the time of the incident but I now know the rule, so I wouldn't claim an injustice in future, that would be illogical (captain).

But knowing the rule, why ?? If it was standing leg fine, but making contact with the foot that's following though after a shot nope, an argument could be made he kicked Scharr. I know I'm being a tad facetious but the rule was (amazingly) correctly applied so I see no grounds for angst.
