  1. I think it definitley hit his arm, but never a pen as the player that made him make the attempted block was coming back from 2 yards offside.
  2. All teams with equal income = parity = anyone could win stuff. Prize money should be equally split, the "honour/reward" should be in the winning, maybe matchday income kept apart. Something needs to be done or the EPL (and CL for that matter) is going to remain the current procession it is.

Looks good Meenzer. The Mrs has become a devotee of Mary Berry's recipe's. We've been having great cakes for a few weeks now She made some chewy fudge cookies yesterday, they didn't make it past 7pm

Thinly sliced rump steak's been marinading overnight in rice wine vinegar, light soy, garlic, ginger and a couple of finely chopped birdseye chillies. Rice cooked last night to the point of just having a tiny litte bit bite left, tubbed up when cool, ready to stir fry in sesame oil with a few baby peas and chopped spring onions chucked in and beaten egg of course. (Home made fried rice is the dog's tbh) Can't decide whether to just have beef fried rice or to do the beef with black pepper or chilli sauce. hmmmmmmmm.
  5. Pardew said he'd trained fully for the two weeks before, passed all the tests, HBA and the medical staff all thought he was OK.
  6. It's not amateur shite, it's professional shite, surgery is always a last resort if natural healing could work..
  7. I wouldn't be surpirsed if we did, just twigged I'll be on hols in the US when the final happens Was the same when we did Barca in the CL!!!!!
  8. Shit!!! I agree with Stevie (apart from the Pardew on my tits bit).
  9. Games I've watched there's been a hell of a lot less dying swan than we see every week tbh
  10. Of course they are meaningful, I work in a "globalisation'd" environment for fucks sake. Unpalateable as it may seem to a "textbook warrior", I see this shit happening, I've done this shit for a living for the thick end of 20 years, I am responsible for, and have been responsible for multi million $$$ budgets that buy this type of shit, and those budgets are built up from the best bang for your buck available from anywhere on the planet and the technology makes the "anywhere on the planet" easier and easier. There's a hell of a lot of difference between the invention of the seed drill/cotton jenny/steam engine and the at the time alternative employment opportunities "in the cities or industries". The burgeoning technology that replaces the need for folks also allows the residual activities, that do need folks, to be done in any place on the face of the planet for much less cash. The "west" is screwed. To think otherwise is sheer folly.
  11. Aye that's a mass employment winner, which also when delivered replaces even more folks with even cleverer technology. 25 years ago I ran a department of 36 folks, within 3 years that number was down to 15, producing the same volume of work quicker/better simply by the adoption of rudimentary technology (which it was really rudimentary in those days, pre windows and a PC on everyone's desk). There were thirteen similar departments throughout the country, two years later that was all centralised and the whole UK operation was run with less than the 36 I originally had. When you need to provide bums on seats, or hands on work, the UK "worker" cannot compete and technology itself drives down the need for bums on seats/hands on in the first place. That's the root of the problem not some left/right airy fairy bollocks and I certainly don't know what the answer is.
  12. That would have made it fekt not fact
  13. I am apolitical, I hate them all
  14. Fuck off, it's not dogma, it's fact.
  15. Not BS at all, it's all true. It's nowt to do with managed decline, it's inevitable and is happening and has been happening for years, I ran my first offshoring project (to India) of first line IT support activities, 9 fucking years ago, they now do second and third line support as a matter of course (the whole shebang in other words), for many of the major players in IT and thus a lot of blue chips etc. The company I worked for at that time is now Indian owned, it was US owned at the time and there's possibly a third the number of folks left in the UK (and the US in the same company division) at most. I've been involved in ships being built in Singapore, with their cranes coming from China and the final fitting out assemby/commisioning in Rotterdam, heavy lift barges being refitted in Singapore and commissioned in Angola, so please don't call bullshit on stuff you know fuck all about. Why not the Tyne or the Clyde ?? (and it's nowt to do with previous governments) How do we compete/level the playing field with the emerging markets then ???
  16. I see that as a solution everywhere to be fair, including Euro cash.
  17. Indeed Couldn't want St Liedown to win owt, ever !! Especially against the Jambo's, who had a fab WAAAY over the line, goal against, not given in the Hibee derby
  18. This one side versus another political dogma is all bullshit, they're all a bunch of self serving cathwords at the beck and call of their paymasters. The problems of society are many and various and none easily solvable. We are in a global economy, our (UK) standard of living, even for the poor is lightyears better than it is for the "poor" in other countries, similarly the working conditions and pay. Problem is, thanks to market globalisation, you get your work done work anywhere, and our workforce can't compete with the other candidate countries for the majority of work, from IT through to shipbuilding, due to the underlying expected/entrenched standards of living. Even forgetting that you're never going to have full employment (or even close) how can you ?? As an example, look at the rules for maternity leave (as an example) jobs have to be held open, unlike in my day, when there was regular turnover due to women leaving to have bairns. Geez even paternity leave wasn't heard of, I had to take some of my annual leave which didn't financially impact my employer. As a country our standards, that we're accustomed to, are so high we're never going to fix it unless India, China and the far east slip into the sea. Irrespective of the blue or red bollocks at the top.
  19. Don't doubt that for a minute, they are the folk who should be getting every help, sadly there's a load who do "sponge" and that's all they are interested in, as far as I can see there is no drive to identify and tackle that issue so that those who need the help get it and those who don't give a shit suffer enough to start to "care" because sadly tough is all they'll understand.
  20. Wouldn't disagree that they are a significant part of the problem.
  21. Like it or not, there is a group of folks who cannot, and will not, function in a society, an underclass if you will, always been there, always will be there no matter what you do. Fuck me, I've been to visit houses where, despite perfectly functional plumbing, there's been pails of shit around the place, weeks worth of dirty nappies all over etc etc but always plenty of booze around. As well as a society there is an equal social responsibility on all and that ain't going to come about by hand holding.
  22. Why should we fund their "issues", that type of person irrespective of how the money is dished out will take from the Mrs anyway, there should be a crime of social irresponsibility and the fuckers should be locked up. We certainly shouldn't encourage them to breed. Never understood with the drug problems (as an example) how users get arrested/fined/locked up but aren't screwed down to reveal their source of supply and so forth up the supply chain, and that goes for scratter users and celebs. When I was a youngun I worked in debt collection for Northern Gas as was, office side, arranging payment terms for those who couldn't pay, always used to piss me off no end, there were the really genuine hardship cases (who really tried to help themselves) and then there were those who would roll in to reception after 3.00 (when the pubs shut) stinking of drink to explain why they'd missed their payments. Will never forget bumping into a lad I went to school with on the metro and he mentioned he was a social worker and I said "bane of my life profession, and mentioned the hardship versus drunks scenario, and how in my experience DHSS did fuck all for the genuine folks but fought tooth and nail for the wasters" he replied in respect of the wasters "They've got to have their recreation". Couldn't believe it, This was in the days of no paternity/maternity leave or childcare bollocks, if you had a kid you your Mrs had to leave work and you had to support them all and if you didn't have the cash you didn't get your recreation. No matter how much you throw at these types it'll get pissed up a wall/smoked/injected/gambled. End of.
  23. And that is the general populations problem, how exactly ????
  24. Irrelevant IMO, Guivarc'h won one of them.
