  1. SAFC club statement: "To our dismay however, we were subsequently never given the chance to negotiate with him to stay." Published 12/09/2013 Di Canio said: "Jack is in negotiations but I hope he is going to sign a new contract because it would be difficult for him to find a better club than Sunderland. "I know Jack wasn't happy in general at the end of last year and I had a chat and told him I don't want unhappy people here, but he has a big chance this year. "In my opinion Jack is one of the best few left-backs in the country. He has all the characteristic qualities - he is aggressive, tough and intelligent and he can push forward. "It depends on him but I'm very satisfied with the way he played in the last few games. He deserves a new contract and he can have a very good future here."

  4. “There was a verbal agreement with Porto but it was the insistence of Alan Pardew that was so great, and we managed to sit down with the British club to close the deal.”
  5. Frank Clark: “Our end-of-season trip took us to the Far East – places like Tehran, Bangkok and, finally, Hong Kong. We played Santos at Happy Valley. “We were 2-1 up at half-time with goals from John Tudor, and a 30-yard screamer from Tony Green. “We were the better team before the break, but it was a different matter after half-time. “As well as Pele, I remember Edu was playing, and he was really impressive. The great Brazilian full-back Carlos Alberto was also playing. “Anyway, Pele suddenly decided to turn it on. He scored three fantastic goals in about 15 minutes. “Not only was Pele skillful, he was as hard as nails – and so powerful. After 65 minutes, he went off – and that was it. We lost 4-2 but it was a great experience being on the same pitch as the world’s best player. “I’ve got a photo of me tackling Pele hanging on my wall.” John Tudor: “I remember Tony Green’s 30-yard wonder goal, it was all Newcastle in the first half, and Pele had done nowt. “Then for fifteen minutes we were in the presence of greatness. “Pele ’s skill, close control and acceleration were just incredible. “He was like a flash of lightning. He scored three goals. Job done and he was off. What a footballer.” Tony Green: “There was no applause for Newcastle. Everybody had come to see Pele. “He was superb, terrific. I’d played against players like Dennis Law, George Best and Bobby Charlton, but Pele wasa different class.” And is he the greatest ever player? Green pauses, and says: “I used to think so. Then I saw the little fella who plays for Barcelona – Messi. He is just incredible, but then again he hasn’t won three World Cups like Pele did.”
  6. In his eleventh season he will get his melon shaved like you have been fawning for. Except his new hair "style" could be described as a reverse mohawk.
  7. CT, do you just whack the full packages of seeds in that mini-greenhouse and add a wee spot of water and wait for results?
  8. It has not even happened yet and I am already losing fluids through my nose while laughing. The bin-dippers are up in arms already after they caught news that the Sun will be mailing out 20 million free issues at the start of the WC. None of the free issues will be delivered in Scouseland. The comment sections have been littered with their garbage tirades. Wambulances have been dispatched.
  9. @robbieelliott3 I remember training with Ramsey as a 15/16 year old at #nufc Could have got him for 500k.Arguably wouldn't be the player he is today #shame He came when Roeder was manager. Trained with first team and didn't look out of place even at that young age. Club wouldnt pay the fee #nufc
  10. Al-Khelaïfi: "I spoke to Zlatan so that he'll stay with us when he finishes his playing career and becomes sporting director."
  11. If you were the defender involved in this, would you have a different reaction? I know I would of been sent off.
  12. That is quite a staggering amount of rival banners in that photo. I also have some hate for JawD flowing through my bones.
  13. Another Legend hangs up his boots (and shorts) for the last time.
  14. Mike Ashley -- Health Club Cunt Does not have the same zing as our current topic title. Meeting yesterday between SD and LA Fitness over the future sale of 33 clubs. Hope he chokes on a plate weight. Maybe the 35 lb. variety.
  15. CT, What would you recommend for this? Dill, Cayenne, Anise, Coriander, or just a wee bit of salt?
  16. "Pardew is responsible for bringing in my favoritest player ever, but he does not listen to my telepathic messages I have been sending him about the match day squad and tactics, bearing the fact that I am the greatest ever when spotting a purple and how to get the most out of him, my mam and myself want Parddddddddddddeux OUT!" (now I need to create a diversion to take fellow posters microscopes off of me) "Oh, I know what I can do. Time to post a photo."
