  1. Fucking hell - talking about everything consipiring against us.... Think I might sleep for a week.
  2. Side-show centre half? Christ it is him!
  3. Isn't that a contradiction of terms?
  4. I'm not saying my opinion is rational Craig, but it's just how I feel at the moment. Why couldn't he wait a few more months? It's not as if he signed for a team that was going to win anything this year. That reminds me, I fucking hate Man city, their fans, and be extension, their players. So fuck him, hope he wins nowt. Who's to say he didn't want to? Word is that the club wanted their balance sheet in the black come January 31st. If Shay had still been here, it wouldn't have been. Remember the rant he made in a press conference a week or so after leaving? From what I heard he was advised against it but felt he wanted to air his opinion as to what went on. I'll say no more.
  5. Coppell never liked him, even when he first arrived as manager. A complete chav and a twat off the field, but still tries hard on the pitch and can hit the target. Been in and out of the team so much it really affected his game mind. Played really well in one game and had his name chanted by the home crowd only to be in the reserves for the next. Definitely worth signing him on a free and see how he performs under a new manager. Definitely had a promising spell when he was loaned to Norwich. Always seemed a prolific scorer a bit like defoe? though maybe better with his head. Would he move north do you think? When Reading first got him, it reminded me of when we got Andy Cole. Went massively off the boil though by all accounts.
  6. I don't want Mackem Eric anywhere near my club thank you very much
  7. He owed us fuck all, the club evidently weren't arsed about keeping him and he'd become dis-illusioned with the running of the place. I don't blame relegation on his actions....
  8. We've obviously been spoiled to some extent but I never rated Given as much as most people did. He was clearly a very good keeper but I don't think his command of the back line was anything to shout about and his distribution was usually average at best. He LOOKED like a good keeper from an acrobatic point of view on many occasions but I wouldn't put him in the Schmichel bracket by a long way. Bassong's had a few poorer games lately...Enrique was written off in his first season etc etc... the point I'm making is that I don't think Harper's costing us points although he seems to be the fashionable player to knock at the moment for some reason. We're on the same page re: Given but he's a class above anything I've seen in goal for us all the same. Yeah, I'm largely talking shit. Nah, I agreed with you. You're right he's become a bit of a target of abuse and you're right it's unfair as he is the least of our worries. Don't think he's the least of our worries like.. Beye or Bassong maybe, but not Harper. The worry with Beye and Bassong is will they fancy the championship? The hypothesis I'm giving it is if we survive. If we go into the Championship, I reckon they'll both be away. I also reckon Harper will be good enough down there.
  9. They're by no means out of the woods yet. A pompey win tomorrow combined with Hull, Chelsea and Newcastle victories and it's sayonara Sunderland Bring it on!
  10. Is Handy Randy as cash orientated as Deadly Doug was? Reckon we can bribe your boys? We'll fucking need it!
  11. Aye... and he's taking the piss out of us with it! Shows that they still haven't got the first clue about what this means to the fans like. We don't hate you for being a cockney, we hate you for fucking up the one thing that we all commonly believed in. What a greasy cunt! My piss has been re-boiled!

  13. Aye Given was far from the finished article but he's a million miles ahead of Harper. Take the blinkers off man Asprilla - he's not good enough.
  14. Never catches a cross, always punches (often back into danger). Never comes off his line to close down Evidently doesn't communicate with defence (Boro game proved that when instead of Harper booting it out of play, Bassong had to turn around and face the attackers). He's a good championship keeper. He's not of Premiership standard however much we'd like him to be.
  15. Fair comment. I'm convinced if Given was still here we'd be safe now. Harper for me just isn't a No.1. But Given wanted to leave... Shouldn't really bring this one up again as I know people think differently but Given only wanted to leave when he realised the club were happier to have a shade under £6m in the bank rather than him between the sticks. Ashley / Wise / Kinnear fuck up this one - they should have told him they'd had an offer for him but would not consider selling him before the season was up.
  16. I think the sympathy shown to Harper is ridiculous tbh. Made some good saves? Aye but that's shot-stopping - it's only one facet of goalkeeping and the quality of the rest of his game leaves so much to be desired. He's nowhere near the level Given is at and it's clear to see. Nice lad who would do a good job if we drop into the Championship but it for some miracle we stay up he has to be replaced. If we don't, we'll be in the same mess we're in now
  17. I will be there for moral support "10 Jack bottles waiting to be drunk... 10 Jack bottles waiting to be drunk and if 1 Jack bottle is accidently sunk" How's the hangover Simone?
  18. I know someone who has been apart of that, and even those who lost in it still got a top. Aye and I bet that these tops get counted as 'tops sold within the first week' showing that we're still investing in the club yadda, yadda, yadda....
  19. If we stay up, Fenwicks better clear a space in their window for me. Anyone with me on that?
  20. Hmm I'm sceptical. The grass is always greener and all that - I don't doubt that Shepherd's heart is in the right place but lets not lose sight of the fact that financially, he left the club in an absolute fucking mess with hidden debts that weren't realised by St James' Holdings until long after Mike Ashley got the keys. If he were to come back, I'd want someone else doing the financial management. In some respects Shepherd was too much of a fan (if you get my drift).
  21. Out of the current starting line-up we need to find replacements for the following: Harper - just not good enough. Might be a local lad who's stuck with us through thick and thin but he hasn't really got a clue. Good (not brilliant) shot-stopper but won't come out of his 6 yard box for anything and all he ever does with crosses is punch. Coloccini - I've said all I need to say about him. Gash! Duff (as a LB) - I'd rather have him having a go on the wing instead of Jonas. Butt / Barton / Nolan / R Taylor - the lot of you just fuck off please..... Guttierez - Someone suggested he should have been drug tested after the opening game at Old Trafford. I quite agree - he's been a different player ever since. Garbage There are others who are not showing their potential but I reckon swapping these lot for someone half decent would have a knock-on effect on their performances. Martins ain't fit - doesn't take a miracle to see that. As an aside, does anyone agree the transfer window has to be abolished? Fucking hell a season can be ruined by players getting injured in early September or early February. Should go back to the old system where you could buy a player up until late March
  22. Man Utd will do their part and beat Hull. But it'll be academic because we'll lose to Villa. If we can't beat Pompey & Fulham at home, there's no way we'll go to Villa and come away with anything. Agbonlahor & Young are going to have a field day with our full backs. And I fully expect Carew to score. BTW - has anyone heard if we're going to appeal Bassong's sending off? Pretty certain Shearer has said it was fair so I doubt we will like
  23. I'm not trying to up the abilities of Taylor & Nolan - just playing devil's advocate and suggesting it'd have just been our luck that they'd have performed elsewhere. I fully expect Michael Owen to play regularly wherever he plys his trade after leaving us. Agree about Milner, Zoggy & Given BTW.
