Back to topic One of the best atmospheres I ever witnessed was at Barnsley. Absolutely gash on the field but the crowd never stopped singing all game.. Have heard from several Liverpool fans that NUFC are far and away the best and most vocal travelling support in the Premiership to visit Anfield.

It's widely stated that Gazza didn't want to sign for either - he was edging for a move to Liverpool by all accounts, supposedly never off Beardsley's case to persuade Dalglish to take him. At the time he had to move on - there was no ambition at SJP and his career would have stagnated. Was Spurs the right move? Nothing to compare it with but my adiding memories of that time were of him playing for England rather than Spurs. There's only 4 memories I have of him in a Spurs shirt and they're all at Wembley in 1991. With all respect, I think had he gone to either Man Utd or Liverpool, he'd have won league championships and possibly may have stayed on the rails.

You were given a fucking 45 minute hiding by the best team in the country. Like us last season you'd have done well (and gained some respect) to accept that. Most vital game since the last weekend in April back in 1992.... Who were we playing that day? This is arguably bigger, the damage to confidence will, IMO, send us down. Relegation then would have been damaging, but relegation now is unthinkable... Relegation then would have seen us in serious financial shit - most probably going out of business ultimately. I think time has served to sanitise the consequences of 25th April 1992. It was a massive game for us and IMO, the biggest of all (even this one).
