It wasn't so much the replacing of SBR that was wrong, but the timing and the individual they chose to replace him. Robson should have been 'retired' at the end of the 2003-04 season and suitably honoured by the club. Instead he was booted out on the eve of the transfer window closure. There's many who agree the timing was wrong but not so many who feel it wasn't time for him to be replaced.

Gemmill should be able to help with this one...

Sounds like a damned fine idea to me..... NUSC to canvass the idea?
-
Sad thing is, the press at the time wanted rid of him - they reckoned he was absolute shite and started a witch-hunt in the run up to Italia 90 IIRC. Graham Taylor was such a 'more attractive prospect' in their eyes Same fucking scum who have since have reported that he was the best manager this country has seen since Ramsey and that a knighthood is 'long overdue'.

I'm quite looking forward to Ghostbusters coming out like...

Totally agree and as SLP says, there is already a statue at Portman Road. The FA should recognise him in some way for what he has done for football and the English game in general. What he achieved at NUFC was only a small proportion of what he achieved elsewhere perhaps but then the same can be said of Keegan, Shearer, Beardsley and others over the years. Of the people this football club should recognise in some way, he has to be up there amongst them. IMO the list should be: Stan Seymour Snr Jackie Milburn Joe Harvey Sir John Hall Kevin Keegan Sir Bobby Robson Both Beardsley and Shearer are possibly worthy of some recognition too. Of the 6 names mentioned up there, only 3 have had anything done to date - Milburn (stand), Harvey (restaurant within ground) and Hall (stand). The fact that Stan Seymour Snr has never been recognised is an absolute disgrace IMO. Statue as well for Jackie... True - forgot to mention that one...

Did you see it last night then Craig? Indeed I did... all looked very familiar. Was in BHS only last week buying my old man an xmas pressie - don't remember seeing any Corvette tyre marks though...

The team (and its workforce) have one hope IMO... Dave Richards. If he's not interested then it's going to be a very miserable Christmas in Brackley. This is the problem with the grid being monopolised by the manufacturers. In financial times like these, the likes of Honda, Toyota, etc who are not necessarily front-running in the sport are evidently going to pull the plug on their participation in F1 as a primary cost-saving. I don't think the likes of Button and Ross Brawn need worry. They're too established in the sport to be left on the sidelines. Button will probably end up at Torro Rosso IMO (a good car - arguably a better package than the 'parent' Red Bull car), which of course won a race last year. Brawn maybe a surprise replacement if Ron finally decides to step to one side at McLaren?

Oh, grow a pair you patronising git. And do what exactly? Or are you missing my point completely? I think you're missing mine, Gemmill's and Spongebob's. We're not biting to any of his rubbish, but we're tired of seeing threads go this way all too often because other people will continue to do so, despite your teacher-esque "just ignore him, he's only after attention" comments. As we've all said, you have the power and the responsibility (Spiderman-tastic!) to stop this happening but you won't. I don't know if it's because you pride yourselves on being more relaxed than N-O or because you're big bunch of fannies that doesn't have the stones, although I suspect a combination of the two. Get rid of the twat. And that is where my point is being missed mate... check your PMs...

People need to help themselves. Yes he's trashing threads but only because people are biting. You can lead a horse to water and all that but not a lot more.

I see he's disappeared now... off to find some historical stats no doubt
-
C'mon then... what was the first game you went to and what was the score?

Is your lass a bin dipper like? Aye... and a proper one too (i.e. comes from the city). Only a proper one if she wears her 'jamas in Asda Greatest fans in the world, you'll never walk alone, the Kop, massive flags, every fan brings a scarf blah blah blah.... Boo the team as they go top of the league and chant "you don't know what you're doing!" at the manager that won them the European cup for the first time in 21 years. They are the single worst support in the history of the game. They're not even passionate, and never sing when they're losing....ever. Bellamy deserves his house burning down for what he said imo. Must admit like, when I was at Anfield in March, they said fuck all until they'd taken the lead (over 40 minutes). Our lot never gave up singing for the whole 90 mins - even the scousers i was sitting near reckoned we're far and away the most passionate fans they ever see.

Fucking hell man learn to use the quote function properly....

I might take a stroll along and lob some bricks through the windows. I'll send you photos of the fuckers to aim for. I hate that place mind, it's fucking shite. The last time I was in was a hot, Sunday afternoon. One of the lads was after revenge after he'd had the three man lift performed on him the week before. His retort was to go to the toilet and wipe his sweaty, shitty arse with some toilet roll then tuck it in the collar of one of the lads who had got him. Only the victim didn't know as he'd been at the trough getting a piss at the time and thought he'd just been patted on the back. He ended up sitting for about an hour with an Andrex ponytail, didn't go down to well with the clientèle and staff like but we thought it was hilarious.

Aye... tbf, she's quite happy with things, and Rafa... Her dad however is a different story all together - can't wait for 'Bentnuts' to be replaced, bring back King Kenny, etc...

This thread says to me that on the contrary, some regulars need to take a long hard look at themselves and use the functionality that has been provided to them precisely for situations such as this. The 'ignore' function is not something we added just for the hell of it - it's there for a purpose. The 'poxy 2 week ban' may have ensured that no posts by the username 'DannyB' were made, but the bloke who logs on as him was still here. Do you get my drift? Jesus I feel like I just got bollocked by the IT bloke at work. I bet this is what you're like when people at your place have computer bother. Complete with air quotation marks. "Have you tried rebooting ?" How exactly would you have whipped him into shape then?

Read that again Yeah... and? Regarding people that posted afterwards, ignoring the point of the above post and continuing to ask for Danny to be banned. OK you've truly lost me.... In layman's terms, DannyB was on here as someone else when 'DannyB' was under a 2 week ban. Comprendé?

Yes people can ignore him, but you mods have to have some kind of responsibility for the impact he's having by letting him remain on the board. Too many threads are turning into the Danny show now though, it's not even if as the arguments are amusing. OK Luke, I'm intrigued as to what action you think we should take. Yes we can ban him... but he'll simply create an alter-ego. We can lock the thread but that ends up with us being accused of being Hitler-esque. You lot (not necessarily you btw) pander to his needs by biting. What's more, whenever anyone can find something to dig at him with, they don't fail to deliver. No many are helping themselves tbh.

Read that again Yeah... and?

i asked my lass the other night if, in all honesty, she thought Liverpool could win the league this season... Hand on heart she said no - thinks Chelsea will get it quite comfortably but that they'll be in a strong position to challenge next season IF they find a decent right-back and that Rafa learns to play his best XI available all the time. My concern is about the right-back. Both them and Man Utd are falling short in that position and Habib Beye isn't short of admirers...

FWIW, I think far too many people believe that Ashley is as worse as it can get.... THAT in my mind, is a very narrow minded view. Hounding him out of the club is not the end goal. It's replacing him with someone better - and there is no guarantee that the next man to want to buy the club will be.
