I remember Cantona going to Sheff Wed on trial. Was midway through a season IIRC rather than in the summer. The press were more bothered about him being a nutter than his football ability and the concensus was the Sheff Wed got of lightly when he jumped ship to Leeds after his trial. Hell on in Yorkshire though by all accounts - Trevor Francis especially.

No, no, no Jonny... his mate looks like Borrat

You could argue that it'll be worth it as long as it gets Ashley out I am actually heartened by Harris' quotes when he says there's progress on the sale front as he seems to have no trouble telling other clubs he is working for that there is no chance (ala Everton). You're right that Ashley needs to speak up and tell us what the craic is though. For the love of god, change that avatar man.... It's disturbing

Perhaps he should but I can see why it'd stick in his throat. If we'd won that game, I'd have fancied us against Belgium in the semis and we'd have been a good match for the Germans in the final (but would likely have lost). Like Maradona pointed out, England won the WC with a goal that didn't cross the line, you don't hear any one complaining about that goal. Things like that in football happen people should learn to move on. Like it hasn't been one of the most contraversial and infamous goals ever awarded? Jesus, they've made documentaries about it FFS!

If NUFC.com was more than one bloke, they could take it turn for the ressies etc. Anyway I am sure there are a few from Spurs who do it. this bloke is well know because A. He looks like Borrat. B. He catalogued how much it cost. C. He travels everywhere with a smelly midget. Who the fuck is Borrat like? Is that some other hermit you lot have wasted money on?

You've missed out a whole bit in the middle where your mate had a sex change.. would add a little spice to the story like. only added confusion if you ask me like....

Likewise... It's not burying my head in the sand, it's simply a case of reading even slightly into it makes my blood boil and i'm not ashamed to say, tears stream down my face. For those of you who have me on facebook, you'll have probably seen a pic of my son and you'll know that 'Baby P' is an absolute ringer for him and therefore my realisation of what happened to him is even more stark. The council have fucked up big time, but the close scrutiny of what exactly happen to that poor little fella needs putting to bed. He's dead and sadly no matter what we do, we can't bring him back. (what's even more sad is he's probably better off dead than he ever was when he was alive). Instead his legacy should be that this never, ever, ever happens again. The people responsible will get what's coming to them, of that I have no doubt. However efforts now need to be focused elsewhere.

Home, away, europe and every reserve game? Mate that is exceptional, he sometimes had to do two games in one day. I think you would be hard stretched to find one of your lot do the same. Not really.... there's two of them over at NUFC.COM who've done so since at least 1993

JK needs to shut the fuck up tbh. I don't want to hear from the interim manager what the status of the club's sale is, nor do i really want to hear it from Orville(*)... Ashley needs to speak up! * - incidentally, how is Harris' time being funded? I hope to fuck it'll be out of the proceeds of the sale but I'm willing to bet the 'club' rather than Ashley are coughing up....

I think he's a rancid cheating turd primarily for what happened in Mexico back in 86... But he's funny as fuck in interview, even if it is through an interpretor. The bit towards the end of this clip about the '66 World Cup is hilarious. On a serious note, he must be fed up with them asking him about something which happened over 22 years ago. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/i...als/7736200.stm

One of the best shot-stoppers I've seen play for us - probably only bettered by Given. But stick a ball in the air and he was all over the place. Flapper Srnicek tbh.

We couldn't get the work permit for Friedel could we iirc? One thing that we missed back then was having a top class keeper, as IMO Pav was always a clown despite his status as some sort of cult-hero. Glad I'm not the only one who thought that. The wearing of his "Pavel is a Geordie" t-shirt on the post-promotion lap of honour was a moment of genius by him as it endeared him to the fans no end. But in reality he was a fucking liability at times, something which was evidently not lost on Keegan who tried to replace him numerous times (Hooper, Friedal, Hislop). Sadly I think the better keeper was the one Keegan let go... Tommy Wright.

I'm still reeling from realising. Forty fuckin years. The family spongebob are in for a right boring time over the dinnertable tonight. I shall be regailing with tales of valour and misery all night long Peanuts hoyed out to you The supporters club opposite the Strawberry The 5 minute flag Floodlight pylons Saint James Wrestling Hall Football league supplement in programme Walls for bogs The Magpie club Lord Westwood Spike rawlings guesting at testimonials Trees by the Popular Jinky breaking that kids leg Supa Mac's goal versus Leicester Gordon Marshall swinging around the post and the ball going in Writing your name on the bog rolls Playing with the grit Come on you old bastard a few more obscure memeories, not just the famous ones Mental celebrations where you ended up 50 yards from where you were less than 20 seconds ago Bogrolls chucked on to the pitch when the teams ran out Sitting on barriers Keepers running up to the Gallowgate at the start of the game everyone clapping the keeper would clap back, and the whole would go AAAAAAAAAGHHHHHHHHHHHHH giving him wanker signs Sit down protests, when we were shite, everyone would go "sit down sit down sit down" to the tune of play up Pompey, fuck knows what that was going to achieve Norman in the corner on the barrier starting the songs so pissed every time he tried an Ossie Ardiles black n white army, it came out as Oheeee Aree ehh Aniiii aaeey Abusing police (every game) How man hey mans in the Gallowgate Keegans hotdogs with onions outside the Strawberry Sambrero's in the Gallowgate when Mirandinha signed and hats with 3/4 toon, 1/4 brazil, rangers or celtic on. Toon fans enthusiastically cheering Stimson getting sent off Paying 2 quid to get in and thinking it was expensive Having literally hundreds of jock toon fans when we had a big game, honestly we had loads When it was warm in August and the ground was full, like it was against Tottenham, genuinely they were the very very best of times, going to the match everyone expectant, you couldn't beat it. The average Newcastle fan then was fuckin brilliant, the best with no equal, Alan Hansen said as much in his autobiography, every fucka said it, even opposition fans respected us. The average Newcastle fan now is a cynical humourless boring cunt. Owld Tommy - little white bull Donno what you mean mate. Another thing was the bloke making Indian sounds in the East Stand, and something I used to like...The Corner used to go in the seats in the seats in the seats in the seats in the seats in the seats in the seats in the seats in the seats in the seats iiiiiiiin the seats, and about 50 0f them would stand up and go UUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUNIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIITED UNIIIIIIIIIIITED UNIIIIIIIIIIITED, the corner would join in then the scoreboard then the whole ground. It's nice having little memories like that. Those were the days when different paddocks in the ground used to encourage the others to be vocal. Loads of "Sing in the corner", "sing in the scoreboard", "sing in the centre-west", "sing in the leazes", etc... There's no way we can't have that carrying on these days, but we don't... -
Aye we did... the figure was £500k though and that fat fuck Stan Seymour said "not until we flog Gascoigne". By that point Scheichel had signed for Brondby

You're a very disturbed young man...

1983.... Carlisle at home wasn't it? -
No way Fulham. Firing on all cylinders with baldy up front now. I think it's a false hope for them. Fully expect them to crash and burn..... Internet £10? I never bet money where the fate of NUFC is concerned....

I think Fulham, Stoke and West Brom will do well to avoid the bottom 3 come May. In addition to that I think the likes of Wigan, Bolton and perhaps even Sunderland and West Ham will all finish below Newcastle and Spurs.

is that him on the dodgems? used to be good at these when i was a kid but that was a long time ago! Enjoy.... http://www.findwaldo.com/widget.html

I remember that game clearly... The bloke was lucky to get out of SJP alive tbh - people wanted blood. It was a travesty of the highest order. The 'play off' season was full of the now I come to think of it - one which springs to mind was being brought down to earth with a huge bump by Steve Bull on NYD. Scored all 4 goals for Wolves as they run riot. I think there and then I knew we weren't good enough to bounce straight back up. The other one was the cup game against Man Utd. Despite being behind 3 times, I think we gave the the run around and they were lucky to come away with a 3-2 win. Mind you I still to this day don't know how we got away with Kevin Scott's goal. Quinny was on a his hands and knees beind Jim Leighton's legs, school-playground stylie making damned sure he tripped over him...
