Vauxhall built the Vauxhall Carlton and Lotus built the Lotus Carlton in the same way that they, rather than Ford built the Lotus Cortina and they, instead of Talbot built the Lotus Sunbeam. How you can claim you're clued up on cars and suggest Bertoné are on a par with Lotus is laughable. Bertoné like Pinafarina, etc are stylists who specialise in styling the physical appearance of a vehicle. Lotus are engineers who have take a basic chassis and completely built their own car from it. Me neither. I just tend to not skimp out and would always opt for the top-of-the-range model, even if it's a couple of years older, tbh. Top model or not.... it's still only an Astra You can't polish a turd! It's a superior model of one of the most successful car models in the country. Hardlys a 'turd', dick head. Actually you're right - turds are probably more aerodynamic.... particularly as they don't have the 'off-cuts' from an airfix model attached to their rear end Hey if it does 160mph without being aerodynamic I'm pretty pleased.
