FYP The worst news possible but sadly one we all knew was likely to come. State funeral is far-fetched, given the way we (or should we say Shepherd) dealt with his departure, his association with us is nowhere near as great and fairy-tale like as it was with Ipswich and indeed they're already considering renaming a stand after him. The true gent of football IMO who will be very, very, very sadly missed by anyone in the game. If the fuss made about him doesn't at least match the level that George Best's death got then something is sadly wrong.

Aye. You get rechargable battery packs with them. Yeah mine worked fine after I'd read the instructions properly. It was just a cheap one so it needed a little bit of fiddling to the wiimote to sit right. No complaints at all once it was working. It had two of the battery packs included which is handy. Depends on which one you get I s'pose. I've used two different Wiis with different charger stations. One worked fine but the other was shite - the Wii kept losing connection with the remotes despite them being 'fully charged' (allegedly!)

Speaks volumes that the 'defining evidence' (as if!) from the first trial wasn't even put forward by the prosecution this time around because it was so shite... The bloke had minimal gunshot residue inside his coat pocket which the prosecution alledged was enough to find him guilty of the crime. If he had (and particularly from the close proximity the shot was fired according to the post-mortem), there'd have been absolutely shitloads of residue all over his coat, not just in his pocket. There was absolutely no evidence linking him to this particular crime short of the fact he lived in the same street. Having sat on a jury myself, I remember clearly that the judge, many times, reminds the jurors that they must reach a verdict on the evidence put before them and ONLY that evidence. If the evidence is not presented, it doesn't matter how much you assume something, you cannot use assumption. As I said, there was no evidence whatsoever linking him to this crime and in light of that, he should never ever have been found guilty.

Agreed... wish it wasn't on there tbh. Does that honestly have England 4 Netherlands 1 on it?? FFS - They should have just left it as it was... Reason that our 80s shirts don't have the Umbro logo on it is because the club gave the reproduction licence to ScoreDraw rather than TOFFS. ScoreDraw aren't as conscientious with detail either - the sleeves on the 87-88 home shirt are wrong.

Is that dog-tags around Beye's neck?? I hope to hell there's a military reason behind that... even if there is, wearing them on the outside of your clothes?

It's fucking shite though... and IMO is the direct cause of the lack of overtaking in the modern era of the sport. Back in the late 80s/early 90s you all started off the same... if you ran the tits off the car in the early part of the race, there was a good chance you'd run out of fuel if you kept up the same mixture. You had situations where the leaders had to 'ease off' towards the end of the race allowing the chasing pack to catch up. Control the wings, control the fuel, we've got the sticky tyres back (yay!) and let the drivers do the talking IMO.

Me neither but then who's to say the club won't provide him with living accomodation in which he'd be catered for in the same way that he is at the moment only with his employers able to keep a close eye on him? So as well as paying him, we give him free board and lodge? You're getting sentimental in your old age Craig. He made as many appearances for spurs as he did for us you know. Their chairman is happier to throw money away than ours, maybe they can look after him? Doesn't have to be a one-way street. Who's to say we wouldn't benefit from it? And anyway, it's not like the club don't house a good proportion of their payroll is it?

It's proposed to be... Have a look at this month's F1 Racing. They've got a piece on the differences between 2008 and 2009. Something like higher, narrower rear wings, wider adjustable front wings, no more excess airfix pieces fitted to the body work and slick tyres!!! It's a start but there's more work to be done IMO. Shame they've dispensed with the split rear wing theory which would have encouraged more overtaking. I'd ban refuelling too while we're at it then overtaking is bound to be more prevelent.

if he becomes a disruption then we've done what we can to help him - thank him for his efforts but sadly inform him that his contract is terminated. Pretty certain if we did take him on then matters like that would be dealt with (and pointed out to him) as part of contractual discussions.

tbf Gascoigne has 'lived' in hotels since he left Rangers (maybe even before). He wrote about it in his autobiography saying that he preferred to do things that way so that he'd not have to look after his own property.
-
Precisely which is why he needs to be looking at club of Premier League size. They need to have the infrastructure to be able to help him. It cannot be presumed that it'd be a success but how honestly could we as a club come out of it worse off?

Don't get me wrong Dr Ken, I can't stand the bloke and since he's been at the helm, F1 has been a much duller snooze-fest of a sport. For instance what used to be 'using the slipstream to over-take someone' has now become 'getting into the dirty-air section' all as a result of enforced technical regulations which Max has ultimately ratified. IMO he should be fired for being a shit FIA President, NOT because he's a kinky bastard who likes his sluts to speak with a German accent...

It's pretty evident that football is Paul Gascoigne's drug... without it he's nothing and without a job in the game I think we'll be seeing his coffin being carried into a church far sooner than it should ever be. Some people who accept he needs football suggest he should be looking at a more grass roots level or lower league so that he gets a decent grounding. I don't.. He not only needs football, he needs professional help and total support on both a financial and emotional level. Send him off to someone like Stockport County and they may be able to give him the footballing 'hit' but in terms of the help he needs, they don't have the muscle to assist. A Premier League club would be able to offer him all the support he needed as well as his fix. This is the club he supported as a boy and with whom his heart lies. In a massively bleak footballing period for us, he was one of the very few shining lights - watching him when I was 10/11 years old, I was captivated by his brilliance and realised what a talent we had. We have a chance to repay him in some way and if its coaching kids that could emulate him by ending up being our stars of the future then fantastic. I don't think we should write him off because of his recent problems. He's still the person who lit up our midfield in the late 80s, he's still the person who took the world by storm in Italia '90, he's still the person who scored 'that' goal against the Scots in Euro '96. He's still Paul Gascoigne.

What was the Senna one? All sorts of weird and wonderful theories but nut-heads who refused to believe that Senna could 'make a mistake'.. Despite all the technical data which proved beyond doubt that the steering column was fully operational at the time it hit the wall, they'll have you believe it 'sheared off' as he was going through the apex of the bend.. There is a conspiracy about that weekend that has got some truth in it though. Under Italian law, if a competitor dies at a sporting event, the event has to be cancelled with immediate effect. Ratzenberger snapped his neck and suffered massive head injuries in his accident on the Saturday, never once regaining consciousness. It's considered that he died at the track but kept alive by artificial means until he got to hospital in order to save the event. For the San Marino Grand Prix to have been abandoned before race day had begun would have had massive financial implications so it was in the best interests of the organisers that the show went on. Obviously if the event had have been cancelled, Senna would never have been racing on the Sunday and wouldn't have had his own fatal accident. Read into that what you like but Italian prosecutors preferred to push the blame to the Williams team by using pathetically inept evidence rather than throw the book at their own. -

It's a load of bollocks... as is the ridiculous conspiracy theories about Ayrton Senna / Princess Diana / 9-11 but I know you disagree with me on some / all of those too... The only one I think there is any credibile suggestion of a possible conspiracy is the JFK assassination but even that one I'm not convinced about. -
Didn't really get away with anything did he? The paper claimed the orgy had 'Nazi' connertations which amounted to nothing more than a few phrases spoken with a German accent and the woman wearing a pair of knee-high boots... Hardly conclusive proof is it? Given the connection with his Dad, it probably wasn't his wisest decision but then he never intended for it to go public did he? He's a qualified lawyer as well so I'd have doubted very much he'd have gone to court had he not been certain he could win.

You mean to suggest that not only have our secret intelligent services (the ones remember who are not adverse to leaving laptops on trains and 'losing' CDs containing confidential data) been able to keep this under wraps but that the ETs themselves have ensured that they've only integrated with such people? Do me a favour... -
I wouldn't have gone that far but he is a great signing (as regards PL experience) with 4 or 5 good years left in him. I see it as a very similar situation to when Man Utd bought Sheringham. Is he worth £20m? Compare him to what Liverpool paid for Torres 12 months ago then probably not. Compare him to what Man Utd paid for Veron though and he could be good value for money - it's all relative these days, especially if either Kaka or Ronaldo move this summer.... In terms of the player, I think he's a brilliant acquisition for them...

Yeah but from what I've heard the 2-season decision for Nike is at the club's discretion.. adidas themselves have bounded the ruling that they will only change a home shirt every other year. Quite noble really when you consider they are stopping themselves raking in more cash.. That said, we never had a regular 3rd shirt before adidas though...
-
I was under the impression Premierleague clubs changed their home strips once every two seasons and their away/third kit every season? That's an adidas charter Dave and not a Premier League one... As far as I'm aware, it was one of the main reasons why Nike won the contract for Man Utd rather than adidas when their Umbro deal was up. Fucking disgrace really - that said, if the fans are willing to pay....
-
RIP and all that but lets not turn this into a Lampard-esque situation..... The shittest of all shite to have to go through but then it's something that we we all should have to deal with at one time or another...
-
Dunno about anyone else, but I procured a new away shirt today.... Definitely is purple rather than blue - still like it though

Anyone else had problems with Firefox 3 running the YouTube site? Apart from that little issue, I use it every single time
